For war strat thatâs easy: get people into voice coms and let only captains speak, and convince folks to obey the calls that are made.

These companies coming in from legacy - thatâs their only advantage. They have had time to narrow the field of participants down to people who STFU in voice coms and obey calls.
As a casual⌠Iâm having a blast on a FSS because NO ONE is demanding I help with the effort. So I can run around and do my thing.
Itâs been great for PvE players. Maybe it sucks for PvP newbies though because you need to prove you can listen and obey orders.
If you think you can beat the most competitive super companies by reading guides and getting into comms and talking you have no idea the skill gap difference we are talking here. They could probably win these wars being half naked.
legacy players are just in FSS prolly just login in once or twice a week to war and go back to legacy.
And thats understandable since they did that kind of stuff on legacy because of the free money from territory income.
But while the skill gap is still huge, with their mediocre build they will continue to stomp FSS pretty often and that wonât impact at nothing since fssers will just keep playing, if legacy pvpers dont farm and gather resources like the rest of us they can do nothing, because they aint winning no more 7m per week from territory.
Exactly⌠are we going to have a re launch of the game every year because people who quit and now want to come back but donât want to be so behind. People say they donât want to Play with the bugs, the gold dupes and the players who benefited from it. They donât want to play with players in full bis. Whatever excuse they can think of.

The majority of legacy players went to fresh start and dominated ever harder than they were on legacy. Isabella has already lost 1000 players. Last night it was at l just below 1600 players. Every war has been a flat farm fest, except one where it was 2 companies from legacy fighting. Iâve already been accused in opr of being over geared rofl and thatâs why I can get so many kills and I was 540 expertise⌠with only 3 weapon perks and 2 resil, no food buffs, no homing stones. So if I play my main I get pmed saying âgear difâ and now on legacy not even 2 weeks in, getting pmed âgear difâ.
Yeah the funny thing all these supposed âexploits and dupesâ came at a time when there was no timeless shards and no golden scarabs. The idea there was all these BIS items created at that time period which benefits people today is just false. Getting a skill perk / resil in 590+ back then was considered a holy grail type item. Health Divine 2 perk amulets weâre hundreds of thousands of gold.
I never played FSS because I didnât want to grind everything all over again. Lots of my friends are now playing it though. If FSS takes over the game I will not be able to play with them anymore without starting over. This is really a possibility since they are calling some servers âlegacyâ and others âfreshâ, itâs obvious what server you would pick as a new player coming in.

Thats the main reason just to play FSS and play âfairâ.
People donât understand how pvp works. That guy who said he can just watch guides or find builds online and be able to complete or whatever is in for a rude awakening. There is a big difference in between reading a guide and understanding your limits as a player. Understanding what abilities are must dodges and one you can take, understanding when exactly to dodge etc, and understanding your own build and how to use it to effectively rotate abilities and secure kills. People like us have that dialed. I have even had someone accuse me of having a macro to use fireball into ice spike??? Can you believe that. Rofl never even heard of such a thing.
Yes, for a long time I have thought that one of this games biggest problems is a majority of the player base doesnât realize how high the skill cap is.
What server are you on that died?
You should probably start by defining what is âDeadâ to you cause none of the Legacy Iâve logged on are anywhere near close to dying or even being inconvenienced by FFS.
Be it Legacy or FFS, majority are at a quite healthy pop right now. The few outliners were either low pop before FFS/Brimstone was a thing (so nothing changed really), or the invite only streamer event servers(which was that way by design).
All the above aside, FFS wasnât even an update to begin with, Brimstone Sands was the update. You talking about server additions with an extra ruleset as opposed to the ones released with Brimstone.
What? Most legacy servers have lost 30-40% of their concurrent users since FSS. Wars have drastically reduced, companies have been shattered and split, players who donât want to level a new character canât follow and play with their friends. AGS is calling the servers of the players who kept supporting them and never quit âlegacyâ. It has been a disaster for âlegacyâ servers.
The individual skill cap is actually extremely low.
Now the 50v50 skill cap, thats an entirely different story.
The ability to work within a 5 man group and consistently play with and communicate with that group and the other 9 groups during a war and actually staying on the same page is a level that THE MAJORITY of New World players will NEVER reach.
The skill gap between these players and individual players, they might as well not even be playing the same game.
Theres also no incentive for the more experienced in this regard to ever help teach these things to random players, because they dont want to give up the RMT aspects of town ownership in the process.
The legacy server I was on was sitting close to 2k pop before fss, having loads of oprs, wars, Etc, after fss itâs now around 800 players. 3 hour ques for opr, barely any wars. The other servers have in the region have lost a huge chunk of players too. The fss servers as well have already dropped 750 players. Went from 2200-2500 To around 1500-1700 and itâs been 2 weeks.
I semi agree and semi disagree. In solo or 1v1 fighting the more skilled player in that style of fighting is going to win at a higher clip almost always. There are off days where a player who normally beats you at a much lower rate does well, but those are anomalies. It is a different style than group fighting though I do agree.
If you put 5 good players in a group together they can do good because they know what to do. The reason I disagree is you can hide unskilled players in 5 mans by only taking fights where you outnumber the people you are fighting. These are the OPRâs or Wars where you see 5 people always sticking together with a healer and running around jumping isolated people. This type of gameplay doesnât take much skill to be effective at.
I can look at who is in a war roster and tell who will win typically just by looking at the names and which side has more skilled bruisers and healers.
Not totally accurate numbers, but here is the scenario i think is playing out and that people are complaining about:

BSS releases and around 30k people come back to the game and become active. Call it 60k total.

FSS releases and another 60k return specifically for fresh start. Servers are very briefly 60k/60k split between fresh and legacy.

Existing players from legacy decide to do fresh start with a few friends outside of wars - content is limited and their character is capped. They bring small pockets of their company over with them (think war 5 man, etc) and farm the everliving crap out of the noobs.

Less players on legacy as half your company is now just warlogging. Split is 30k legacy, 90k fresh.

Game isnt much fun for you now either and you dont have the time to regrind, so you, a legacy player, quits.
Very clear demonstration of fresh start negatively impacting legacy server players.
It is on AGS to fix this issue, not fresh start zealots to call it a non issue because they want to pretend fresh starts are victimless.

Lol Halcyon, was the nail in the coffin for new world. I remember it was a dark dark day. And i felt betrayed bc i already bought the game prior to that change and couldnt get a refund.
Iâve been playing âfairâ on original servers for over a year. I donât need to go to FSS for that reason.
Idk man. My server actually got more players after FSS and most legacies were locked still due to being cap at sundays (which is pretty dumb in my opinion).
Just like locking servers overall during the comeback period.
But legacies are not dying. Itâs a weird argument.

Overtime players will fade. Since new players will obviously start on fresh servers. This is true. But thereâs so many filled legacy servers that you can always transfer or merge worst case.
You have at least a year or two before starting to worry about legacy. And by then AGS can do whatever tf they want to adjust to the situation.
