Yes, its a MMO. And in all MMOs, if you run the highest level pve content over and over until you have all the best gear available, then the drops from continuing to run that same content becomes worthless to you. That is an unavoidable ceiling.
Your solution is to make that process take longer for everyone, so someone like you can have more time before hitting that ceiling. Its an absurdly narrow minded and self centered perspective.
Again, I absolutely think you should be able to do something with excess shards. But simply slowing down everyone else isn’t going to accomplish anything. That guy sitting on 1m shards would still be sitting on a huge pile of shards even if the upgrade costs were doubled or tripled, meanwhile a ton of other players would feel like they’d never get there now.
Just leave it alone, only thing that needs to be done is that it stored in a different way…just let it pool like a currency. No need to make every aspect of the game a grind and less inviting for new players. If you are bored, go practice your pvp.
My prediction,
In January they will release an “end game” on top of the end games end game and call it dumbrall shards. Mutations will get cranked to 20, umbrall shards will go in the bin and you get to start grinding again!
I don’t have that kind of backlog of umbrals. that said I’d rather it was all watermark. wish we could buy sell them thru official channels instead of hte dodgy join a m10 for them
I’m self employed sometimes I work 10- 12 hour days most days and after working I will jump on for 2-3 hours during that time I can complete 3-5 m10s that is 18k-30k umbral shards in a small session do that after work 5 days of the week and I have earned myself 90k-150k shards in just 5 days playing 2-3 hours a day and my mutation limit reached its not very hard now I don’t think you guys understand efficient playing, that is not grindy at all I also play solo I do not have a group or anything, I run with a different team every time by creating a group finder and advertising in recruitment chat.
What does causal player mean to you does it mean they only play an hour a week or an hour a day, does it mean they don’t prioritize leveling gear?
Because if a casual player is trying to reach 625 GS and is taking a very long time you need to assess how there going about it, its not hard to earn shards in this game even for a casual who actually makes the most of the opportunity’s that are given to them such as ruby gypsum, emerald gypsum, diamond gypsum and mutated expeditions now and then, if a casual player really tries to get 625 I’m sure they can in a week heck look at me just a couple hours a day during the working week and I can get enough to level 2 sets to 625.
and it is for that reason that I say double the shards need to get 625-650 it currently costs around 50k shards to max 600-625 even 100k shards would be possible playing at 2 hours a day for a week if you prioritize leveling gear, that’s still not difficult.
If you don’t prioritize leveling gear of course its going to take much longer but you will still get there through organically playing but do not tell me it is a grind because if you actually put in effort to obtain it, it comes reasonably quick.
those of us who don’t PvE like crazy generally don’t have a mass of shards… i go through them as soon as I get them as I have heaps of gear for different builds to level to 625.
