Perspective people, persective. Look, I’m not trying to rain on anybody’s sense of nostalgia or the cartoony quaint qualities of Azeroth. But please don’t tell me New World has horrible graphics. Just stop. We have become faaaaaaaar too spoiled by technology. And just stop with the overclocking and the 4k and all that nonsense. I play this game in 1920 x 1080 and it looks insanely amazing.
Go on Youtube and do a search on these forums. There are gamers everywhere saying the game looks terrible, that is has graphics that are 2010 levels, etc., etc. My point is that the graphics are just one more thing that people are complaining about because it’s something to complain about.
This. The graphics are one of the few things that get universally praised in this game. What gets trashed is the lack of visual enemy variety and the horrible animations / spell effects. But to this day, in all the negativity, I haven’t seen one person say this game looks bad.
With outdated GFX and low settings the game looks quite poor, but that’s too blame on too old machines and not the game itself.
Its subjective i think. The armor visuals are pretty well(not every armor but generally good.)
I liked colony America era armor, looking and spanish style plate gear. Yet the variety is awful. Everyone looks same, there are so small variety for armors. Gear design not changing by level until at least 50 level.
Two handed weapons just like joke and not even fit to aesthetic of the game. I dont know in which world people uses axes and hammers, longer than themselves. It just not fit to realism of the game.
Dont mention to variety in weapons, cuz there are no variety in weapons. They all looks same.
Well, i dont expect variety from the game with that character customization. Even ultima online have more customization.
Its true it dont have soul. I really suspicious about the most part of the game coding developed by AI engine. And when you think about the vision of Amazon it could be true. Since they try to automotize everything with AI and machine learning.
This game lacks, art. Its like there are no human touch in the game. They just skipped every detail and only implemented core videgame dynamics. This game really doesnt have any detail.
However amazon is not gaming company and doesnt have that culture for sure. Amazon gaming company is just tool to be used for take a slice from the pie. Like any other Amazon subcompany.
I wish my game still looked like your screenshots.
After the last patch myself and others have been plagued with graphical issues and the game does actually now look awful - just makes it worse going from looking amazing and experiencing that for a week to a play-doh world - absolutely ruins the world immersion.
Just do some searches on here to do with textures and there are multiple threads regarding this issue with no resolutions been found.
I don’t think its my settings - The settings we are provided with are very limited and everything is on ‘Very High’ at 2560x1440.
The game used to look amazing prior to the update - just tacking on here that the people saying the graphics are awful may be having the same issue as I am, which others are also experiencing which is noted in multiple threads with screenshots/videos (for example: Texture pop in/low resolution textures)
WoW has a unique cartoony style that ages well, like Team fortress 2, you cant compare realism with cartoonish graphics its not a fair comparison. wow’s graphics are intentional
