The issues regarding mass reports and false bans can't be ignored anymore

A lot of players are experiencing frequent false bans because other people keep mass reporting them for nothing. The threads regarding these issues, whether on New World reddit or these official forums get brushed off as an non issue and / or deleted fairly fast. No publicity about the issue - NO ISSUE?!

I got banned twice in a single day (31.1.2023). I was harvesting fiber in mourningdale when other players direct messaged me to leave the area so they can harvest the fibers, or else they will report me to get me banned. And would you know it, a few minutes later I was banned for “Botting behavior”.

I ofcourse appealed the ban, but just got a “copy-paste” message within 30 minutes stating that they have looked into the issue with great detail and it is justified.

After a long and strenuous effort to argue the case further, someone from Amazon ACTUALLY looked into the case and found the ban to be false and the ban was removed. I then asked the support agent whether the people making these false reports face any consequences, because I am worried it will just happen again. I never got an reply from Amazon.

I logged back in the game later during the same day and went harvesting in Mourningdale again. I managed to play for less than 2 hours before I ran into the same people who were threathening me with the reports earlier. This time they didn’t even message me, and just mass reported me again when they saw me. A short while after running into them I was banned for bot behavior again.

I tried to appeal the second ban aswell, and got the exactly same response once again, in less than 10 minutes. There is clearly zero effort going into actually investigating these bans. I even provided support with the message chain regarding the last ban just hours earlier, that was found out to be false. That didn’t help, they just ignored me and didn’t even reply for more than 20 hours.

After 23 hours had passed, I opened another appeal ticket asking for the case to be escalated as they stated they would get back in touch within 6 hours. This time I got a reply almost instantaneously, but it was the same copy pasted message, with the expection that it stated to not bother contacting support again, that they will not do anything regarding the issue.

I went into AGS live chat and asked them if they could kindly provide me with a customerservice phonenumber that I could call and try to resolve the issue with an actual human being. The support agent gave me four different numbers, but none of them worked. I informed him I am calling from within Europe, but he couldn’t say if the numbers are accessible from Europe, and couldn’t give me any other numbers to call.

I then left a request for a phone call on amazon.com webiste. I got a call, an automated voice told me to “press 2 to get connected to a support agent”, I pressed 2, the “waiting in line” -music played out for a little while and then they hung up on me.

I let the AGS live agent know this, and I just decided to inform him of the whole ordeal in the chat. The agent promised to relay the information to the moderation team, and told me that they would be in contact with me ASAP. It has now been 7 hours and there is not any kind of response from them.

To be honest this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my whole life. It just goes to show how much Amazon cares about its customers, they clearly have no interest in investing into a reasonable, working customerservice. And the moderators on these official forums just brush of every instance of these clearly frequent false bans like its an non issue.

This whole ordeal has left me absolutely disgusted at Amazon, and I will be straying away from any Amazon services after this. It is not worth it to give your money to a company that has zero interest towards its customers.

As long as you can false report players without consequences - ppl will do it.
In case of false mass reporting - ban all reporters for few days.

This has been happening since the first weeks of launch.

AGS hasn’t made a statement about this since launch period where they claim each issued ban is investigated by a human. Which we all know is false.

My advice, just stop farming or you will get mass reported by gathering bots.

AGS will never adress this issue again. It’s too complicated for them.

  1. Those who do this should get a perma ban no if or buts.

  2. AGS need to add loads more Ironwood/Wrymwood and Silk/Wire fibre nodes as they did for Ori and SM. This should have been done along time ago.

They are just stupid and intractable on this matter. Cutting of there nose to spite there face.

I shudder to think of how damaged these people are that they go to lengths like this to get an edge in a game that matters not one bit in RL. Perhaps they deserve Pity more than anything.
