Have you tried it against shield/sword , Lifestaff recently? Any mobility skill like leap would counter that combo.
I have not as they are very rare on my server, and the very few you come across seem to be very bad players. But I’m not sure how mobility is going to help against all of their CC. After being locked in place for 3 seconds by the void gauntlet the melee can’t miss anything and will keep you CCd in place for at least another 3-4 seconds. I don’t think you can outheal 6-7 seconds of constant damage onto you, most into your back as you can’t move and you constantly being interrupted/stunned.
Trust me i wont even need life staff to counter it. I am a s/s main and i can survive that combo with s/s alone in heavy armor.

I strongly disagree. Because by your logic that means any war 50v50 that put in more healers would win. Again I know your referring to OPR but there are many different types of healers and the quality can definitely beat the quantity. My last fight was a 10v10 for a point my team had 2 healers and the other team had 4 healers. We wiped them and didn’t lose anyone. Because our team worked better as a team focusing people and using skills in chain. Where as the opposite team didn’t even hit me once. So I disagree with your logic that more healers = win.
- After 3 ccs you get a free dodge roll.
- there is no such thing as 3 sec stun. It is more like a sleep. The first dmg you receive ends the stun.
- You can still block with shield when rooted.
- You can use leap or use any other mobility to get out of void gaunglet aoe.
- S/S has its stun.
- S/S is not that bad in small size pvp. They sux at mass pvp. They actually pretty good in duels esp vs the current increased number of musket players.

- Void gauntlet scream, locks you in place for 3 seconds no matter how much damage you take.
- You can’t block attacks into your back, and do you really fight people spamming left click? You can’t block for long, until you are then stunned again this time for your stamina breaking.
- No you can’t. You have been locked in place for 3 seconds by their scream and now a bunch of GA/WH CC.
- Your character won’t be moving for majority of this interaction you won’t have a chance to, knock me with your shield which isn’t even a 1 second stun.
- Duels aren’t PvP. Duels aren’t in anyway slightly balanced.
Like I have said, you’ve said enough. You clearly suck at PvP, I understood that a few posts back.
- first time you heard that right ? It was introduced back in beta.
- Scream is a root and you can face other directions and block even attack while rooted.
- look number 2. You will be surprised how much i can block with tower shield with sturdy . 3 sec is no problem . Done it thousands of times. Hell i can block the tactician for longer duration.
- I never mentioned i would leap when rooted. If you think you can land the scream while i am already in aoe you are dilusional. If you plan to cast the aoe while i am rooted i ll be in that circle for only 2 sec blocking all other hits.
- get your facts straight shield stun has perks to increase duration. I can stun anyone hitting me with melee while i am rooted. Root doesnt stop attacks.
You absolutely have no idea about how skills works. And it is very clear you have never met a heavy healer with 12k hp and 2200 phy armor. I am pretty sure i can survive that combo longer then 3 sec doing nothing against 2
I quit playing healer because exactly this… They are making it to the point where you can’t effectively heal your group. Eventually it’ll be impossible. So I jumped ship before it gets there.
I believe when compared to light armor, heavy armor already has -15% damage. Additionally, tank players already prioritize con over points in damage stats like str dex or int. So to take an additional 20% damage from them and expect them to even still be able to play the game solo at all is a bit much. Would you be glad to hear that every enemy in the game will take 30% longer to kill? Because compared to light armor that’s pretty much the nature of the game that’s being suggested here for players in heavy armor.
I like the idea someone suggested about having less mana regen and adding more reliance on mana potions. I honestly don’t play life staff enough to really say much so maybe that wouldn’t be effective at all. As it is, it doesn’t seem like mana pots get used at all considering even the price of infused mana pots on the TP is practically free.
I think it would be awesome to have a perk, or gem that reduces healing when hit. Kinda like grevious wounds from league of legends. There definitely needs to be a way to counter healers. There’s currently no good way. Please don’t bring up hatchet with the diseased throw cuz that is not effective. Or make it where you can put blight on your weapon and it causes players to get blight. I don’t think healers need to be nerfed, I just think they need to add more ways to counter it. CC doesn’t always work. I’ve had 7-10 guys trying to kill a healer before and it was nearly impossible.
IMHO - Outpost Rush is unbalanced due to the:
- Difference in numbers (why one team is 13 other 19, I will never undestand that)
- Healers
- Skill and knowledge of this mode
Third point is OK, but first 2 should be addressed.
Healers are perhaps in a good place of game - they should not be nerfed in PVE any further, but maybe some balance in PVP is required.
I would make it like that:
- 10% movement speed with light armor, 10% cc taken time increased.
- I saw new heal reduction methods, but I would make every bleed heal reduction at least 40-50%.
The problem is i-frame spam. It’s hard to punish a healer who dodge or dashes away with a secondary weapon at times. The healing itself is fine. It’s that pinning anyone down in this game is easier said then done especially a healer who requires more concentrated targeting and chain cc to bring down. A couple dodges or a fleche and they are back to full hp. Plus they have pots like the rest of us. It’s just imbalanced game design in an action combat game that’s the issue not healing. It’s too hard to zone healers or punish them.

I think the matcher are unfair in the since it feels random to who you get. You could get a full team of healers and get smashed or a full team of ranged. And being a healer, I get snipped all the time in OPR and smashed by Hammers. Maybe they need to do a matching system of more even what classes are on what sides. Instead of just fill up with a random mix. I dont feel Life staff is OP. I die more then I can think, to hammers and Great axe users that know how to flank your healers.
By the gods, No! No more nerfing of life staffs. Stop caving into people who whine… what are you guys trying to do? get rid of healers all together? Life staff doesn’t need nerfing… it needs buffing… if you want the developers to look at something you can tell them to checkout muskets (I mean automatic rifles) and war hammers… I mean… How many times do I need to be stunned by a hammer?
In every mmo hps is usually 2 X top DPS. In new world hps == top dps. I’ve seen bows doing 1 mln dmg on opr.
Please really talk with top players and stop crying. Game now is heading for better balance and this crying because of your no skills is starting to be annoying.
In any MMO solo kill of healer is impossible.
