I quit playing healer because exactly this… They are making it to the point where you can’t effectively heal your group. Eventually it’ll be impossible. So I jumped ship before it gets there.
I believe when compared to light armor, heavy armor already has -15% damage. Additionally, tank players already prioritize con over points in damage stats like str dex or int. So to take an additional 20% damage from them and expect them to even still be able to play the game solo at all is a bit much. Would you be glad to hear that every enemy in the game will take 30% longer to kill? Because compared to light armor that’s pretty much the nature of the game that’s being suggested here for players in heavy armor.
I like the idea someone suggested about having less mana regen and adding more reliance on mana potions. I honestly don’t play life staff enough to really say much so maybe that wouldn’t be effective at all. As it is, it doesn’t seem like mana pots get used at all considering even the price of infused mana pots on the TP is practically free.
I think it would be awesome to have a perk, or gem that reduces healing when hit. Kinda like grevious wounds from league of legends. There definitely needs to be a way to counter healers. There’s currently no good way. Please don’t bring up hatchet with the diseased throw cuz that is not effective. Or make it where you can put blight on your weapon and it causes players to get blight. I don’t think healers need to be nerfed, I just think they need to add more ways to counter it. CC doesn’t always work. I’ve had 7-10 guys trying to kill a healer before and it was nearly impossible.
IMHO - Outpost Rush is unbalanced due to the:
- Difference in numbers (why one team is 13 other 19, I will never undestand that)
- Healers
- Skill and knowledge of this mode
Third point is OK, but first 2 should be addressed.
Healers are perhaps in a good place of game - they should not be nerfed in PVE any further, but maybe some balance in PVP is required.
I would make it like that:
- 10% movement speed with light armor, 10% cc taken time increased.
- I saw new heal reduction methods, but I would make every bleed heal reduction at least 40-50%.
The problem is i-frame spam. It’s hard to punish a healer who dodge or dashes away with a secondary weapon at times. The healing itself is fine. It’s that pinning anyone down in this game is easier said then done especially a healer who requires more concentrated targeting and chain cc to bring down. A couple dodges or a fleche and they are back to full hp. Plus they have pots like the rest of us. It’s just imbalanced game design in an action combat game that’s the issue not healing. It’s too hard to zone healers or punish them.

Ask yourself why you do so much damage when you wear heavy armour.
I think the matcher are unfair in the since it feels random to who you get. You could get a full team of healers and get smashed or a full team of ranged. And being a healer, I get snipped all the time in OPR and smashed by Hammers. Maybe they need to do a matching system of more even what classes are on what sides. Instead of just fill up with a random mix. I dont feel Life staff is OP. I die more then I can think, to hammers and Great axe users that know how to flank your healers.
By the gods, No! No more nerfing of life staffs. Stop caving into people who whine… what are you guys trying to do? get rid of healers all together? Life staff doesn’t need nerfing… it needs buffing… if you want the developers to look at something you can tell them to checkout muskets (I mean automatic rifles) and war hammers… I mean… How many times do I need to be stunned by a hammer?
In every mmo hps is usually 2 X top DPS. In new world hps == top dps. I’ve seen bows doing 1 mln dmg on opr.
Please really talk with top players and stop crying. Game now is heading for better balance and this crying because of your no skills is starting to be annoying.
In any MMO solo kill of healer is impossible.

DPS have to run medium armor in OPR, or get deleted instantly by Musket Snipers across the field.
The mini dodges medium armor provides is not enough to keep up the DPS on a healer, who can also dodge 3 times, or create distance with their secondary weapon.
He can outheal, outpot any short DPS window that pressures him for 0.5 seconds, until he can dodge again, heal again, pot again.
Eventually his team realizes the threat on their healer, and just kills the DPS.
stop complaining about ls.
there are numerous ways to combat ls, namely cc.
and in this upcoming patch, heals will be worthless due to everyone having weapon anti healing debuffs.
healing has to be good to deal with the op damage players and mobs put out.
the anti heal posts are LAME and have no merit

I would love to know what build you are OP. If I was to guess, you are GA/Hammer and are sad you can’t kill someone with your Light attack spam.
Try Void/Ice if you want to kill a healer.
It’s not “unbalanced” if it’s player choice. Players can chose whatever weapons they want to.
It’s like saying “my team plays objectives and we consistently win OPR” vs “my team just stands and fights on the road”. Player choice. Should we penalize the players that play objectives when the other team does not?
I find that no matter what my team looks like I can easily solo carry by farming brutes! I can stop the other team from getting brutes and spam spawn brutes for my team. EASY WIN BABY!!

It’s all lifestaff.
It won’t come the patch and mostly everyone is running a healing reduction perk.
Leave the staff alone, learn to play. The world does not revolve around PVP, and every time a group of cry baby kids scream about heals, the staff gets a nerf. This effects the PVE players more than it effects the PVP world.
