The Lvl40-55 Weapon/Armor chain quests are bad jokes by designer?

Hi,

My main question is, that are these quests are bad jokes by designers or what?
Why do I get a quest chain at level 40!!! Where I need to go around in lvl 45+ zones to collect materials and then craft a subpar lvl40 item, that will be useless at the 1st time when I get it? I was forced in zones to get material where recommended level was way over 40 and a random green drop was stronger then the boot that I crafted as a reward for it!
Shouldn’t an armor quest chain where you need to go around and kill a lot of thing start at max level, where you won’t out level the armor set just with your hunt for materials? And provide you with an armor set of 580 or so after braving the 60+ zones to even worth the effort??? (You can get an 525 set from faction quite effortlessly and easily)
That would be at least meaningful!
But the way, getting a lvl40 armor or any other items that you already out level by the time you get to craft it is totally useless.

These quests feels like they are there as a test to see the mechanic and they forget to update or remove them or just another bad joke by the incompetent game designers…

Quest list:

  • Hope Manifest (lvl 50) - Provides Hope Manifest (+7int <=== WTF???, +15 focus, Chain lightning perk, no healer perk on healer staff…) - Useless for anything other then decoration

  • Executioner (lvl 49) - Provides The Executioner (+15 const, +7 dex <=== WTF on a STR weapon)

  • Keen Temper (lvl 50) - Provides Keen Temper (No gem slot for taunting gem…) Otherwise this is the only decent weapon amongst the ones you can get quests for…

  • Shrouded Intent (lvl 55 - Med) - Provides T4 (420) armor set one by one, starting with boots (+dex) - Well at least it’s good for dex build, but I would not use med armor for that. Use light (dmg, and roll) or heavy (armor), the med armor is totally useless currently (no armor rating, no roll/dodge range and no bonus dmg…)

  • Battle’s Embrace (lvl 55 - Heavy) - Provides T4 (420) armor set one by one, starting with boots (+str, +dex) - WTF??? No const on heavy and to main stat? Totally useless combination

  • Protective Wyrd (lvl 55 - Light) - Provides T4 (420) armor set one by one, starting with boots (+str, +const) - For a Light one the stats are bad. I would expect a +int or +dex or at least to be able to select the stat I WANT beside const

At 55 you are so close to 60(t5) that when you craft any of these items, they will be outdated… Even at 50 you can get better drops…
The armors are not even epic(purple) and only have 1 perk… Can even craft better then this quite easily at that level already…

Yeah… lol they need to correct these, i mean you hit the nail on the head very well. But i just want to add they also give bugger all exp for making ya go all over the joint and waste so much time.

They are counter productive to do while leveling lol…

Quest hear should have two perks and let you choose the primary stats types

Yeah, I agree with that.
They also should be purple and not blue… But even then they are already too weak when you get them by finishing the quests…

Don’t even get me start on the Huntress Bow…that thing is a JOKE…It cold have been a great Reward but holy man…it is TRASH.

Sorry, I missed that quest, so wasn’t aware…
Is there a quest for firestaff, hatchet, rapier, spear, hammer, ice gauntlet, musket too? Or only these selected few weapons got the useless quests? No equality?..

Yup, and you cant abandon those quests once you take them so its another annoyance added on top of it all.

Medium armor class is exceptionally good. You get 10% bonus damage for being mediumly armored, take around 25-30% less damage vs light armor, and get a boost to your CC as well.

Once you finish these quests chains for the armors, you get an upgrade box to convert the unfinished items into epics, level 54.

The medium armor set gives a total of +100 dex, light and heavy, gives 60 str, 40 dex. I agree its wierd that there is no con.

GS on the purples is 495. for armor, and 480 for the weapons.

A couple of friends of mine quit the game because of this bad questline. Not kidding.

I understand them, I also feel to take a few weeks or months break until they polish the quests and items to an acceptable standard. Most of the endgame unique items are trash, except a selected few.

The game does not gives you reason to branch into more then 1 main stat (+some constitution) as all the attribute types just gives damage to the weapon that uses it as the primary attribute.
So having items giving str+dex are basically trash as it gives less damage then str or dex only and the attributes does not have any use.
In other rpgs, they make it so str gives bonus melee dmg, dex adds critical and evasion chance, etc…
Here the attributes does not have any effect, so it makes no logical explanation why should a designed item adds to more then 1 main attributes, as constitution considered secondary attribute just because the hp it gives… It does not give much btw…
Who ever want to spend hours running around and farming for a promised weapon or armor then get a predesigned one that’s totally useless?

Not just that, there is no int or focus on any items…

Heavy should add constitution + some str
Medium is good with dex, but I feel, it should also contain some const…
Light at least should address the intelligence or focus part, but having both on it will still make it useless as a priest does not need int and a mage does not need focus (it barely gives any mana regen, not worth the investment)

This is not entirely true. For optimal damage on hybrid weapons you need a mixture of the primary and secondary stat. The math kids at reddit have figured out the ratios. These weapons are hatchet, spear, musket, rapier, sword.

Really?
When the damage is calculated with 70% primary stat + 30% secondary stat, how is mixing it gives better results then just getting the 70% of the primary?
I may not have Phd in Math, but I am pretty sure that 3000.7 is greater then 2000.7+100*0.3…
So that mixing thing you are mentioning are quite a scam to mislead people that does not even know elementary math…

The thing for the hybrid weapons is that instead of going damage stat and con, you go main stat and secondary stat with less or no con. Technically you’d get more damage stacking main stat past 300 but you want the checkpoint bonuses

Well it’s not that simple… the way stat points works makes mixing them more profitable on weapons scaling with two stats. Here you have video demonstrating it (it’s not mine, just one of first results while searching on youtube): How Damage ACTUALLY Works! ALL New World Weapon Scalings! - YouTube

You can also easly check it in game by simply reseting your attributes and putinng them back while checking the weapon dmg rising
