I dunt think the muskets have any use right now, including pve and pvp.
I really love this weapon, for which I have been making armor and jewelry since I reached level 60, but either pvp or pve, healer with heavy armor and GA/WH user is everywhere,I cant do anything with my poor musket
Should take 3-4 shots to kill the healer if you land headshots.
What’s your point about needing a group? You expect all weapons to be able to 1v1 every other weapon? Some are better for surviving than others, some have incredible range but might need follow up from other players

I mentioned muskets are strong in a group, because you should be co-ordinating to burst down a healer. Headshots should be dealing upwards of 3k+ on heavy healers.
I think you should oneshot everything including dungeon bosses Healer looses lots of mobility and healing power in heavy to be immune especially for ranged, thats why killing healer in heavy require 2+ mele dps. Healer in light can be easilly killed by ranged but melle cant reach it, if you dont belive me i can prepare you infinite kiting 4 melle dps in light while in light beeing healer with all those amazing speed buffs and rolls:)
I recently switched to musket and i must say it is strong imho. Healers are always a problem to kill with almost every weapon. Maybe the new disease perk does the trick
No, they don’t do more dmg than a fs.
A fs glass canon build in light armour do roughly the same light attack dmg as a musket glass canon with light armor.
But yes for fs user a glass canon build is much more dangerous than for musket user because of the shorter range.
A musket needs 2-3 second for reloading in this time the musket user is rooted.
A fs heavy attack needs how much time and how much higher is the damage from a fs heavy attack as the musket attack?
Can we get some numbers here? a musket with 300 dex, 150 int, int gem, and ori bullets should be hitting hard with a guaranteed crit on head shots. Also need to factor disease and bleed in which deal significantly more damage than burn. A firestaff heavy isnt fast and is alot closer to musket reload than everyone thinks (2-3 sec for reload is a bit exaggerated no?).
The biggest issue is the range. a musket user can get enough shots off to 100-0 before an fs can get close enough to hit them. You need pots just to close the gap before the musket ultimately runs away. You cant have the greatest range in the game AND the highest dps. IMHO musket is overpowered compared to fs or ig and are currently a top tier weapon.
Just go hide on top of rocks in open world and gank some mages from 100m+ and youll see your true power (and receive some nasty pms).
It helps to push them back. A healer needs to focus on healing their team not themselves. If a healer just stands there healing themselves and each other instead of the big boys running into the enemy’s loving warm grasp. They’re playing bad and are helping the enemies get free kills. Heavy armor or not, ranged users really can help push back healers even if you don’t kill them.
Also, Idk how useless musket is cause I don’t use it but, I’ve taken some serious shots before from them and been finished off by other muskets or staffs or getting ganged up on by melee.
