The Patch Notes That would make every player come back to new world

Need the extra slots for trophies mate. Can put 5 combat and 5 crafting trophies  Otherwise, it’s a pain when u want to craft something for someone and u need to go to every house and change trophies.

Paid mounts and pets is for ags to make money mate. Many people would buy those AGS makes money pays devs well and they make quality content.

Pvp luck is here. Need something like 5% yield bonus for PVP open-world farming. That way more open-world PVP.

crosshair customization is good for ranged players especially. Many fps players use custom crosshairs something similar basically. Quality of life improvement

i dont wann have mounts. Im fine with them IF you can kill them in PvP and they have to get rezzed on a stable like in BDO. And no Horseback combat

i dont play ranged so i cant comment on that ofc.

thats more like a QoL than a really needed one imo

August…of what year? I’m not saying your list is wrong, in terms of things that could expand and improve the game while bringing people in, although I would disagree with several of them. I’m saying your proposed timeline is somewhere beyond unrealistic. Just to take a couple of suggestions in isolation to illustrate that:

Five new weapons that have never touched PTR, completed tested and launched in less than 2 months?

5 new expeditions (one Lost is on its way) that have never touched PTR, completed tested and launched in less than 2 months? :astonished:

I’m blown away that you’re getting upvotes. Not because your list doesn’t contain some good ideas - because it does - but because the proposed timeline is patently absurd. Hire more devs? Hiring 3 times the devs they have on staff now wouldn’t do anything to affect an August push because just onboarding new hires would take them out past August.

Just the two things I focused would be months-long efforts resulting in a major update. You basically recommend that AGS put New World up on jacks and drive a new game under it in a month.

August? August 2023 perhaps?

We also need hippos and swimming animation

I did mention the timeline would be something like 4-6 months which is more practical though not ideal. it would take them a long time but if they somehow manage to put a lot of content in an anniversary update for new world the game would do a proper comeback so to speak

@Noobs2pro
for me #1 item should be:
-joining a faction is now optional, player without a faction cannot join pvp activities.

But that’s also kind of the point. The amount of end-game content is this game is abysmal, to say the least. Most people are only war logging.

Also, people who are farming in-game are actually just trying to make money for bis gear. That’s about it.

Who is actually interested in completing content? That is the root cause of the problem from pve side. Not enough content.

From a weapons and dungeons perspective true they need to be tested properly. But that can be done in PTR if there are incentives given to finding bugs in ptr.

Right now there are no rewards for bug finding in ptr. Not many people play ptr and thus many bugs go unnoticed. Add some sort of umbral shard reward or a chest box drop whatever and more and more people will thoroughly test bugs in the new world.

To make PTR more useful there needs to be more incentives to actually find bugs in PTR.

And that’s still ludicrous. You have easily a year’s worth of changes/content additions on that list.

What’s also kind of the point - that you’ve proposed a year’s worth of development work be done in a month?

Great suggestion OP :+1: I hope they get implemented :crossed_fingers:

Again my point is exactly if u add more content in a shorter amount of time. Only then will u see players coming back in huge numbers. I understand that it’s a year’s worth of content. But at the current pace, new world is adding content by the time all the changes and new things are added there will be very few players left. Also after a point, amazon will decide to end the game since player pop is too low. And that’s the problem. The amount of content added is too low. People did tempest like 40-50 times then stopped. Since they got bored.

Same with depths. They did depths like a 15-20 of times and then left. You see the problem. The content they add can be done within weeks. But they take 2-3 months to add new content.

I’m not saying it’s easy to implement but if the new world as a game wants to do a major comeback in the MMO world then yes you need a massive content update to get a lot of people interested to come and play the game.

That’s when Amazon will make more money and pay developers better. Thus making a win-win.

Also aside from expansion, new weapons, and new dungeon updates. (that will take longer I agree) The rest of the things don’t need an insane time to implement. That’s 2 - 3 months of dev work and 1 month of PTR with incentives to bug test.

That is very realistically possible. It’s hard but possible.

And it can’t be done. You can’t just throw new resources at stuff like this. You can’t just decide to bypass iterative development cycles and try to push multiple concurrent major changes/additions to the software without expecting the effort to result in a disastrous series of failures.

I’m going to say it again - I’m not taking issue with your list, there is some good stuff in there - I’m taking issue with you continuing to propose the impossible. Just the proposal to add 5 new expeditions at the same time is a major undertaking that would involve having 5 separate design teams, art teams, world builders, story teams to add quest chains leading to the expeditions, etc…all working concurrently to release what in any other game would be a massive standalone DLC. And you want it done in a month. Your amended 4-5 month timeline is better but still absurd, and would require not only a massive hiring and training effort but would result in this being the only thing being worked on for months…while everything but basic bug/technical fixes was left untouched.

I can see there’s no sense in continuing this conversation, either you get it and you’re just continuing to reply to keep the thread moving or you don’t get it and nothing I say beyond this is going to help.

I don’t think that the main problem of so many people leaving is the lack of content, in fact, the great mass of people left in the first 2 months and I assure you that 95% of them were not yet lvl 60. 1 ago or 2 months, you could still see people who were starting to play, low lvl, but I assure you that the experience system ended up pissing them off. What if it is necessary to do, is to improve the current content, for example the group finder, classification tables of arenas and 1vs1 arenas, etc.

I still find the threshold system lousy, personally I am not one to do dungeons and if I want to upload my equipment with threshold, I have to do daily missions, but it limits me to 1 per day in each type and I cannot finish uploading my equipment.

I never said I did not get your point mate. I do I understand your point as well. But tell me what’s your alternative solution to get lots of players to the new world aside from massive content and proper fixes to existing content.

For eg arenas without proper matchmaking and ranking system. That was a mistake, wasn’t it? Why wasn’t that added in the first place?

I just want this game to succeed. That’s all I hope from this post. I not looking for anything else. This game has a lot of potential. It’s just the massive lack of content + broken systems in existing content that is causing players to leave the game.

I love the game that’s why I’m so passionate about it. Thanks for replying to the thread mate. Appreciate your feedback greatly.

You need to level the field, for many people reaching level 60 is already an achievement (mainly lack of time), and after that they have to raise equipment from 500 to 600 is a lack of respect, and to top it off then you have the system threshold. It would have been better to be able to reach lvl 70 once and for all instead of the current experience systems. When they do that and fix the current content, it’s just publicity that’s missing, announcing the new mechanics.

I don’t think people should assume “small dev” teams because the industry is…interesting…right now. Many gaming companies rely on independent contractors for certain kinds of work. It is not usually the big ticket items, but they’re contributing, and they do not show-up on employee lists (obviously) or maybe even LinkedIn. What is clear is there are about 200-ish individuals who have worked at AGS and on New World - and that’s just a super rudimentary LinkedIn search.

I’m not saying you’re necessarily even wrong saying it’s a small team! Just that you shouldn’t just assume that given the posture in the industry and the lists we have available.

Go practice swimming with heavy armor…

If anyone needs tl;dr

No one is coming back to new world.
I only come on the forums once in a while to laugh at everyone still playing.
There are no changes to bring people back. This months double xp even showed a drop in average players… not even that worked. Check the charts, they dont lie. 6 more months of losses and the player base will be 2k.
The fact this dumpster fire is still going on is hilarious

Any ideas that improve the experience at the tradepost would make me happy.

For me i would love to see a tab in the player character screen that shows activity at the tradepost for the transactions you have up. I often miss the rather poor and buggy? in game updates, let alone what happens overnight when not in game.

Even a sort by time sold/activity at the tradepost would help this recent returning player
