The real issues with this patch

After thinking about this patch and why people are so upset it’s easy to narrow it down.
1:The game hasn’t been out long enough for the Expertise system to already be increasing to 625. Most players aren’t even 590 yet and don’t have 600 gs items.
2:There are sooo many bugs that haven’t been fixed for months now. Why is it that after every OPR we have to re-launch to chat? Or why does the movement bug exist that ruins wars?
3:We are getting a bump to expertise without the devs ever lowering the cost of expedition keys like they promised in the video they released about upcoming changes.
4:This is really big one. There’s no roadmap. Player’s have no idea what to expect in inmates so all these issues feel ignored. If a roadmap exists that showed they were working on fixing the things Player’s care about it would be easier to ignore the fact that the devs are adding changes that the player base honestly isn’t looking for.

Bump so the devs might see this

  1. With the way it’s built, 600GS is still everyone’s goal and the mutated dungeons will definitely help you get there faster. The chase to 625 has such little impact to stats but the mutated dungeons scale a lot by it. So really if you want to be effective in the the higher level mutations then you chase 625. It’s not a bad balance to be fair. Mutation keys are awful though.

  2. They committed to Feb on bug fixes. I can wait.

  3. They lowered mote costs and made chisels tradeable. Bumping up rewards in regular Dynasty is a good change too. This will help. Keys are dumb though.

  4. The known issues list and the video blog they did is enough of a roadmap isn’t it?

I disagree with your response in almost every way. This patch caters to the top 1% of players. I find myself in that portion and can tell that if this is the direction the game is taking it is going to kill New World. 99% of players haven’t even hit 590 expertise or gotten 600 gs items yet. This means that mutations is out of reach of them. Also expeditions having a large cost to run is terrible design. There’s no other popular MMO that locks actually playing the Content behind a wall like New World does. Also, since the Febuary patch has no patch notes there is no way to tell if they are actually fixing any of the major issues anyone has with the game. The video by the way was not a roadmap. It was them talking about a few features that may or may not join the game but never actually stating the direction they want the game to go in or stating when any major fixes or updates are coming. This is why people are so upset. The things people wanted most got pushed back for the features that very few people were looking forward to.

I can’t agree on your first point. You may need to run the first 2 floors of the mutation multiple times to get your expertise up if you aren’t at 600 but in no way is it locked out to the 99%. If the current drop rate makes it to live it should be looked at as a catch-up mechanic.
