Yes, we just ask you to translate the Menu and quests into Russian (Cyrrilic, voice acting is optional)

So there was my answer to that - game implemented latin alphabet languages.

You need to make your mind up what you want - if you would ask for latin alphabet russian (which you claimed it would look funny but at least most of the world would get what you writing there) i think it would be in game by now (only my opinion). But if you asking for cyrrilic then they would have to bring greek, arabic etc and chat would end up in one big patterns.

Russia ain’t any better than Poland and saying polish language is in game couse pols are working in amazon warehouses is same as saying russian language isn’t in game because there’s too many russian thieves and alcoholics - same bs as example given by @sewenewes

Don’t get me wrong, I wish every language was represented. I’m originally from the historic Eastern Europe myself and it’s a running stereotype (with a lot of truth to it, sadly) that people like me fill up all the menial and/or underpaid positions in Western Europe. We are often looked down upon and rarely ever taken into consideration when people think of Europe.

So I’m surprised Amazon actually implemented a localization for a language from that part of Europe but not Russian at the same time. It seems oddly arbitrary.

They would have to add russian servers first, because as you said. Many russians don’t understand english.

To be honest, at least the German Translation is Bad too, most of us stick to the english client.

Amazon promised the Russian community to bring the Russian language into the game with the release, the release took place and there is no language in the game. Many Russian players do not understand English or speak it badly. In Russia, a very large number of players are now playing the New World, but we cannot plunge into lore. We are not asking you to provide Russian voice acting, we only need a Russian interface and Russian subtitles. Well then who wanna play an english game must learn english (not to mention that using a pc, a smartphone, even watching movies it learn u english even if you dont want to learn it) so in 2021 since english is the most used lang worldwide i think any human must learn it.

P.S: I bet everysingle russian will know english before amazon will bring russian lang into the game.

Im not quite sure… we cant go to much into viking time because we have muskets, by the armors and the pirates i would say it kinda feet the zone of norway and scotland right after the vikings vanished or converted or whatever so english is kinda the best choice

It’s all part of Amazons cunning plan - by not providing a translation you can play with the optimistic thought that the game has awesome lore you are missing out on. Once they provide the translation you will be hit with the same reality as the English speakers and the blissful illusion of what might be will be smashed

No one says it’s easy or takes five minutes, but they have 7 different languages already, so clearly they had the time to work on it for those languages. So if there’s no Russian, this means they haven’t bothered with it, which is the core of the complaint.

Eastern Europe is still Europe.

European Part of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and Baltic Countries - in all these countries millions of people use Russian language in daily life.

And yes, considering Eastern Europe, every third European is speaking Russian.

Look, we just want localisation with our language. Is it a problem for anyone?
