Simply put, the new Skullstring skin – part of the Assassin’s Whisper Weapon Pack II – is too big. Firstly, from an aesthetic perspective, it is physically larger in length than the player character (ref 1-6). It looks ridiculous.
In and of itself however, that is not a huge issue. Merely a cosmetic dislike, and subjectively at that.
However, it is far too large when equipped, blocking off a substantially larger area of screen than other bow/s (skins). Here is a comparison for reference (ref 7-8). As beautifully designed as this bow is, with its intricate design, it is simply far too large to use within the parameters of PvP and/or with any real practicality other than aesthetically - outside of any competitive environment.
It’s not large enough to reduce my visibility by, say, 50% of my screen, BUT it’s uncomfortably large and does reduce visibility on a whole – something a cosmetic skin should never do, in my opinion. It’s like having a flashing light within your peripheral, or a single strand of hair dangling infront of your eyes; it’s not the end of the world, but it’s uncomfortable, distracting, and overall a visual hindrance – once again, something a cosmetic skin should never be.
I would not, for example, utilise this skin in arena. Shame really.
Why complain about something so… trivial? Because this is the feedback section, this is my opinion on the bow skin, and I do believe my opinion to be feedback. Furthermore, it’s not a big ask. It’s a simple scaling issue. Reduce the scale of the bow. Not asking for an entire redesign, just scale the bow down by, like, 30%, to match the size of other bows.
I truly hope this doesn’t land on deaf ears, and that this feedback section is monitored by the developers of this game. Though given how little feedback has actually been sourced from this sub-section of the forums by the New World dev team, I doubt this will even be read – like, why do DMs still not have a close function? Here’s hoping to be proven wrong though.

P.S. – I also would like you thank the New World dev team for finally giving bows some love and finally bringing a beautiful new skin for it. Just needs a slight adjustment in size.
P.P.S. - Oh and IF you’re reading this; give us customised quivers too. Surely it’s about time. How are we getting these mega bow skins, and still have some level 5 leather quiver. Come on now.
