The solution to stopping shard sellers is to give your shards away for free to the community if you don't need them like a lot of us who are just doing m10s for the loot

It’s amazing to see you go agaisnt my point but don’t realize that all i’m doing is repackaging your point to demostrate how wrong it is.

You seem to miss the part where you can’t get to 625 without earning it. But “you bought umbral shards that’s not earning it!”, first of all the usual price for 6k umbral shards is now 10k, you need 10 items to be 625 and each item takes 9,1k umbral shard, you multiply it and get 91k umbral shards. 91k / 6k * 10k = 151k.

I’m not sure what you’re doing, but getting 151k of gold is not exactly easy (specially before 625), before you were able to get 1k gold for each normal run (now it’s nerfed), so that would take you 151 runs without spending a single coin (now it takes far more), also keep in mind you have to spend gold each run, you need: food, coating, honing stone, incense, potions… Maybe if you’re into crafting you can make gold faster, but for you to be able to craft good items, you already had to spent far more than this. We’re also not taking in account your gear itself, you either buy it or farm it, either way it’s not given to you for free. You do get some decent gear for corruption from tempest, but that’s it. You then need specific gear for each type of content, we will soon get Lost expedition. That means we now have 5 types of content you need gear for: corrupt, ancient, angry earth, lost and pvp. Each mode needs different gear, with different perks and needs to be individually upgraded to 625.

Even if you bought it all, you need to get the gold itself, if that’s not earning your gear, what is it ? You got two ways to get yourself to 625. You either farm it or you make gold and buy it, in no way you’re given anything for free.

So i’m all in for you buying BiS items, but you have to earn it just like you have to earn getting to 625, nothing is given for free.

How about there is zero PC to PC trading. Only with NPCs for solo currencies. Make no commodities. All inventory and currencies are solo.

My opinion, is that if someone wants to blow 250k a pop for BiS leggos, and then pay 15k a pop for M10 runs, then they earned that money the same way i earned my gear. By playing the game.

It really doesn’t matter.

One can feasibly craft or buy BiS, and without ever stepping inside a M10 could eventually get 625. Would it take longer? Sure, that’s a battle of attrition.

What we have here is a debate about how people should be restricted in where they acquire and spend resources. Case in point, the main arguments i see are that these people are not having to overcome the same challenge to receive shards that people running the M10 are.

However that ignores the fact that people running the M10’s are setting a price on their run. say, 15k per person x4 into the group. Which is pretty good money.

To say that you cannot put that value on the run and shards is silly because people are obviously willing to pay it. Rewarding the ones who put in the hard work on the M10, with payment for ones who put in hard work for their money.

It’s simply bartering of goods. At this point, they could simply make shards sellable and just eliminate the middleman. But they won’t because it elongates the time it takes to make multiple sets and weapons (which is the primary issue)

This is exactly my opinion.

My opinion on what we see in these posts is pure narcissism on display. I’m inclined to believe that most if not all of these folks are the same ones (a bunch of which I have on my ignore list in game) that will scoff when asked to link their gear for an invitation to an m 10 group. I put that it’s required in every post but somehow I still get multiple replies nearly every time I tried to pug about how I’m an elitist because I won’t take a stupid combo like musket/sns to a Laz.

These are the players who aren’t capable of completing an m10 and they want others who are to be forced to play with them and accept their sub par performance. It’s never going to happen.

I was giving my shards away and got temp-banned from mass reports.
I finally received a response this morning and was told the ban is justified, here’s why:

Yep. Giving away shards for free is apparently considered Economy Manipulation by the outsourced third-party Moderation Team.

I’m kind of speechless about that.

I would argue that selling them is also economy manipulation.

Hell, I have been “manipulating” the ironwood market but buying up cheap orders and relisting them at what I am hoping to turn into the market price I am shooting for.

That’s just silly. They need to clarify their stance on shard selling if this is true and make them either sellable in the TP or don’t make it possible at all.

Well giving everyone 625 is a recipe for disaster LMAO they need to level it up themselves or else they’ll have 0 skill to run an m10. They need to just find a way to ban selling shards, there has been numerous posts here that have a valid way.

gear is bound to the player when upgraded with umbral shards. this is so it cannot be traded between accounts.

m10 expeditions give the greatest umbral shard reward because they are intended to be the greatest pve game challenge.

players who circumvent the expedition to get the reward without overcoming the challenge are exploiting game mechanics to get an unintended benefit.

these are all facts. that you do not care is irrelevant.

Really? On my server it almost completely stopped. I rarely see people selling shards anymore. I see more people typing “WTB Shards” if anything. I play during peak time so maybe in the day or really late at night they do but I don’t see it anymore. Not only that, there have been days I haven’t seen anyone selling at all.

Yeah don’t feel like going to server where my ping will be insane since I am on US East. Just saying at peak time my server gets around 1100+ people and almost never see people selling shards since the summer update patch.

Maybe you should move to Maramma instead if you don’t like it :slight_smile:
