Now, I tried NW once more with the update… They removed player collision, the heavy attacks are still a joke without any trace of stagger and I simply have enough of the same boring gameplay that I keep consuming because I hope for better times. Whatever game I will play, I will feel a lot more sensations… Maybe, for the unlikely case they one day return a more engaging real time combat approach again, I will return. But I don’t want to waste my time anymore…
You know, I really also start to get mad at the devs because they not even try to find a compromise; whether regarding stagger only on heavy attacks, nore more interesting pvp concepts or pvp servers.
Eventhough the devs back then assured Sir Medieval that they’re aware of the stagger problem and they’re working on it!
The devs simply don’t seem to care about the long term player base. Of course it is about the highest quantity of players and money, but I wouldn’t have expected the circumstances to be that reckless… Plus, I actually don’t wanna support gaming industry like that, which kills passion in such manner, only for the short term success that immensely, anyway.
Finally really deinstalling in a long term and actually I reached the point where I don’t have many good words about NW, although I was really kind of defending the game for a long time! Peace!
Now, the hired ppl can give me comments like “it’s not only about you, many ppl like the game” or “good bye” XD
While I agree combat does feel better in PvP than in PVE, it doesn’t mean it won’t evolve over time.
Give constructive feedback and they might have a better reaction than “goodbye”.
Player collision is still a thing in PvP btw which means you’re just trolling and talking shit. It’s unnecessary in PVE and was hated by everyone for making PVE combat feel terrible.
I do think stagger being tied to heavy attacks should come back in PVE only.
Just that alone would make the moment to moment PVE combat feel impactful and ppl will stop asking for more active abilities, myself included.
Heavy attack, light attack chain, heavy attack, followed by an active ability ability…etc would be awesome in PVE.
They need to also make it so successfully landing a full light attack chain stagger the target in PVE.

If New World wants to ascend in the minds of all PvP lovers, they need to incorporate CORRUPTED DUNGEONS like the game Albion Online has done. An award winning idea that made their population double immediately and continue to grow there on wards. The idea of being able to clear through an instanced dungeon and with odds of finding an opponent within your dungeon. Where the two then fight it out for victory and then slay the dungeon end boss. Then click the portal to leave or go into another dungeon and keep plundering.
The stagger on heavy attacks should absolutely come in a persistent way for pve and pvp altogether.
Firstly, there wouldn’t be much of a problem in pvp, since heavies have a quite long charge up animation and especially for pvp it is important in the pretty boring way of slashing while waiting for the cool down to end.
Secondly, it would indeed raise the fun level when it comes to impactful visual combat, since right now in pve and pvp there is actual no proper impact or reaction of the rag doll when land a heavy strike.
Thirdly, it be stupid to separate the combat mechanics for pvp and pve, since this would also cause problems in open world pvp where you have pvp and pve mixed!
I think, if they brought stagger only on the heavy attacks this would already help many ppl and raise the game’s fun and quality level a lot. But actually we ask for this already so long that many gave up. This is actually the main reason why a lot of ppl, including I, quit in the past the game before I now came back…
A couple of other changes, plus the fact that they actually promised SerMedieval that they’ll find a solution but it feels like they change the design step by step on porpuse, gave me the rest…
