I hope you notice, that the problem is not just the bots, quite the contrary.
Without bots, the price would skyrocket.
The problem lies in the crafting system, which having so much RNG, requires far too many materials.
Bots, by farming a lot, decrease the price of materials, without bots, raw materials would cost much more.
So what needs to be reviewed is upstream:
revamp of the crafting system:
Simply by removing this absurd RNG and making it less expensive and more fun to reach the 200 skill
Increase of material spawns and how to get them:
Simply by increasing the knots of orichalcum and not only, and adding the possibility of obtaining materials in other ways (why destroying items should only give spare parts and some miserable gold? Why couldn’t it also give materials?)
I like this post, I used to farm EVERYTHING for my daily mats. it took a couple hours each day (for all 4 major cd’s), but that’s ok i was super big into the game. now, there are materials so over farmed getting enough for 50 ori ingots is a nightmare and takes WELL over 2 hours unless your farming instanced. runs. which again, also takes over 2 hours.
I generally don’t have too much trouble getting enough ori to do my asmo cooldown. I race around shattered and try not to get killed by the mobs in the mines. But I really struggle to build up enough ori for crafting/levelling tradeskills.
It’s a fine balance. I like that it’s rare. I just think it’s too rare atm.
Only solution for stoping bot is , make the area nodes dynamic between them so bots cant basicly do a rotation , like wow did . Right now all the mining nodes spawn as same a minimum time so they can easily make a auto gathering bot , just give a look on great cleave elite zone , u can find many bot at the nodes , then they gather and go afk till next spawn timer.
But u should know , if u dynamic them , u should make them more + pls …split them more … Not puting 5-10x nodes in same place…
I couldn’t agree more. It’s sad that Bots actually make this issue better. As a matter of fact, I just logged on to play and work on some Ori gathering for Asmo CD and hopefully making my first set of Infused leather bags. Well after going to multiple spots for Ori, only finding one SMALL spot that wasn’t being farmed, decided I have better things to do and logged off.
I want to love this game, but it really needs some attention to details. And this is being said by someone who has been a crafter in the majority of MMOs I’ve played for 3 decades…
Gathering is supposed to be somewhat of a grind, I get that, been doing it forever and a day. But now I have to deal with overfarmed LIMITED spawns on top of the normal grind. Not a good combo. Ori isn’t a rare top end BiS material at this point. Needs to be much more easily farmed. Keep the farm grind, increase the nodes so more can benefit rather than 1 person farming one spot.
what are you saying? wow has random nodes and no bots?
from my thousands of wow hours, wow has plenty of bots (even multiboxing until a year or so ago) and the nodes are not random at all. get gathermate2 and routes (legal addons) and you have an exact path to follow. i get it that not all nodes are up but they have dedicated locations just like new world.
random spawns means that you are going to spend even more time walking around in hope to find nodes. i sure hope AGS considers the input/logic of more than a couple of player’s feedback. if gathering was the only task in NW, sure. but with so many things to do, i want to spend less than 10h a week gathering mats for my CDs…
also, you have no concept of programming. bots can fight and if put to the challenge, their developers can find a way to take advantage of random spawns. they are in the business of making money IRL!
the solution is to make bot’s mat irrelevant and let them starve. if it’s easy to gather, there’s no point for most players to buy raw mats.
or do like lost ark and make it so that you require energy to gather and can only gather so much per day. many people don’t like this time gate.
i don’t like ideas around PvP focused solutions since most gatherers are PvE and i want to gather and not waste most time fighting.
whatever the solution, please don’t ruin gathering for those who enjoy it (or are trying to enjoy it).
@realnerf We can tell just how affected by this our players are and with this in-depth response, it really helps us when bringing this information to the team. They are aware of this issue and we will continue to provide them with updates of the feedback our players are providing. We appreciate you taking your time to explain your experience.
@Kana86 We do notice this and we have updated our report with this feedback too so it is easily accessible to our team. As of now we have not received a response, but we continue to push to get the player’s voices heard!
If any feedback is sent from the team back that we can share, we will update you all here!
Personalized nodes. That is the solution to help out people who want to farm their own resources. As an example using ore:
Iron: Stays the same. No change at all. First come first serve and on the normal timer.
Starmetal: Personalized but maybe on a 1/2 hour or 1 hour reset timer.
Orichalcum: Personalized but on a 12 or 24 hour reset timer.
They also need to add more ore locations and actually ban the bots that are reported, but by doing this it would remove autoclicking bots from high level resources, it would give people that want to farm their own resources more than enough to do their daily CD’s, and it would prevent people fighting over nodes or trying to bring mobs over you to steal them.
Please, we’ve been suggesting personalized nodes for half of the game life by now.
Other option, could be add a few (2/3) ori drops from corrupted elite monsters, Myrk, 55+ corruptions. And you rule out bots out, as they can’t do the killing alone.
They are multiboxer not bot , in the mining / herb node u cant find any bot. Im playing wow around 17y, i didn’t said wow haven’t bot , but in the mining / herb u cant find any bot except multiboxer , who have +6alt. And nodes are random in the area , i gusse u should play wow more…
On Camelot, the price of ore was at 6g a month ago; it’s 4-5g now because of Tempest. I don’t think bots is the problem or solution to any of these issues.
