The suggested PTR Brute changes

So there’s a lot of complaining about the Brutes in OPR. They’ve already been nerfed once, and 5 players can now down one fairly easy by doing heavy attacks (or just shoot them from outside of aggro range). A lot of “hard core” pvp players are complaining about the PvE in OPR as well. Which I find odd. There is no better place to go to in OPR for some good 1vX than to portal. It also makes it a tactical objective, to stop Azoth farmers.

A lot of “hard core” pvp’rs want OPR to be “all zerg mid”. They’d prefer to have no strategy, or tactical decicions. It’s like when CoD players try Battlefield and go "why does my team keep losing, we have more kills!

I hear their needs, and so Arenas should deffo be a thing. Heck, even a Battle royal arena would be really cool.

But when it comes to OPR. The change you’ve decided to do with the brutes, to make it a “group effort” to get one, will make it a lot messier. There are already too many people that goes to farm brutes for most peoples tastes, as too many bodies “wasted” on farming brutes, means less bodies on points. Brutes are good where they are now. It creates a space for the 1v1 or 1vx builds. Or small skirmishes if you like, without dragging too many bodies off the points.

If you’re gonna keep the “pve” in OPR, leave it as it is rn. Making brutes more expensive but still as the easy kill they now are, just doesn’t make sense. Either remove them (and the baron and turn it all into a massive slug-fest), or leave them be.

Why am I even writing about this… Until the Desync, lags, and cheats are under control… this doesn’t really matter.

The problem is that while 5 ppl go gather wood and starmetal to make some useless upgrades, the rest are fighting over control points, Baron, Brute. Those 5 ppl could be meat shields that soak damage. Instead fights are usually one sided with the winner being the team that is more compact, have more healers and tanks, not the team that has fort upgrades. Brutes help to a point if you don’t join a party of 5. I am tank and when I have a healer behind me, nothing enters the fort through the gate and we win in 10 min. Imagine what 3 melee dps with WH and 2 healers can do in opr if they are in a party vs the rest of the players that pluck flowers

I aggree, the building aspect doesn’t belong as it is right now. It takes too long for not enough reward (on the pvp side of things), so that could just as well be removed as to not be a distraction for the not so experienced PvP’ers. You won’t get PvP experience either if you can just go around and mine and build useless stuff and still get score enough for gypsum on it. It simply doesn’t bring any tactical aspect too it as is. If it was cheaper however to build the canons and turrets, it would maybe get interesting, as it would serve a purpose, and the time spent playing minecraft would actually contribute to the pvp (building the canons and such).
