First, you’re going to have to explain why a 1% damage increase on a specific enemy type (but only if you have the trophy in your house that you pay weekly taxes on to use) is worth 20-50k.
To put that into context… on a beefy 5k hit, it turns into a whopping 50 extra damage. And we’re talking about the main use for it being on enemies with HPs such as 693,900 (Caretaker) 825,520 (Baines) 971,450 (Greenskeeper) 1,110,240 (Malevolence) 1,165,750 (Cilla) and 3,122,550 (Chardis). That’s not even 1 less individual attack on the Caretaker and even with the many hits you’re putting on Chardis, it only equates 1-2 less attacks individually in the fight.
As far as farming, you have to beat the boss, so you’ll probably get ~100 chances in 2 hours. On a 1/300 drop rate, that’s on average 6 hours per drop or 18 hours per set for a 3% total damage increase. Now do that for 3 more bosses That hypothetical spawn timer buff still seems like too much grinding. As is, it’s killing the same boss for 100+ hours to complete the set. Nobody wants to do that.
You can Force his Respawn rate from 6 mins to 2 mins if you know how to do it. It’s one of the main methods I use to farm him as I can kill him 20-25 times an hour compared to 10.
Spent three hours farming Baines (all greens and one fire crystal core and two Arcanist specs). Three hours farming Malevolence (all greens). Three hours farming Pit Lord (all greens and purple fire staff with strength). Never more than ten people farming and I have full luck gear. I would have been a bit happier if I at least got ANYTHING that I could sell to recoup some time spent.
This is my dislike of most of the New World PVE, because the loot is in chests it feels like the PVE is extremely unrewarding and its an inconvenience to slay monsters instead of a rewarding experience.
in one post from DEVS its clearly stated. resetting boss spawn by temporary leaving the radius is not intended game mechanics and its considered as exploiting and will be taken action against. and yet you can post this on forum with how to inc video do as u do but dont temp others to go down this way as they might get banned for this.
I have only been playing this game no longer than a month could you please link me to the dev post. As I have farmed this boss for over 50 hours so far ( killed him 726 times ) and have not gotten an Ancient mandible yet and wanted to help others for an easier grind.
in devs section on this forum u ll find it. i really dont want to go through them all. it was brough to attention when ppl farmed baines before update as solo farm and they leave the area to make him respawn quickier. it make sense. when player leave the area the game respawn the mob for possible new player to come not for the old player to kill him again. if i have time later i ll look for the post. as for ancient mandible i have dropped one and my friend as well. but if i compare with mordici drops for the lost trophy its difference. mordici spawn is 90 second andi got 5 seals dropped in 9 days when i was doing topaz gypsum 1 hour per day
Thank you, I just have been trying other games and off all games they PvE loot experience is the most unrewarding in new world, you can Farm for hours and hours and receive nothing that feels like it was even the slightest bit worth it
90% or more of the loot you get in new world is literally useless. Even at lower levels…. It just feels so unrewarding…I’ve really been debating taking a break until they release a new expansion or something that will draw people back, hopefully things will be fine tuned by then…. Right now I’m bored, login for dailies run chest, do few M expedition , mess global and log out to play a different game…… I’m almost embarrassed to tell people I play new world at this point… it’s becoming a meme
So I have officially hit over 75 hours straight farming nothing but this boss with no drops yet. the only drops I have had that is the rarest drop is ancient skulls and have received 4 of them which apparently has a 33% chance of being a Ancient mandible or Ancient fumer and to get the worst drop 4 times really sucks as a new player where even the Ancient Fumer would really help with my minor trophies.
so by my calculations to get 3 Ancient Mandibles it could take more than three hundred hours farming this one boss to be able to get all your basic trophies to major for only a 3% difference which honestly is not worth it.
I will carry on farming until I get all 3 of them but that’s only because I started and I don’t intend to finish until I have gotten all 3 to show recordings of all kills to show the drop rate.
