The time for talk is over, it's time to choose

I don’t want to play a game that’s a decade old and I don’t want to play a broken pile of shit that will never work right… so I guess I’ll just have to wait. After wasting 2500 hours in NW, it’s probably a good time to take a break from gaming anyway, touch some grass and stuff.

Then go play it.

Man, that’s so nostalgic… Too bad GW2 graphics are so outdated. Was hard playing years ago, even harder now. And I already finished the goals I had in that game. After many thousands of hours in pvp doing the same, it dulls me.

NW Devs needed to play GW2 to implement a good PvP environment. But it seems we might not see something like that for many years to come…

I guess then the choice going forward, will be either Good Gameplay or High Graphic Fidelity.

Nah, there’s Runscape. But I can’t stand the graphics, not even drunk.

And there’s BDO. But I can’t stand its monetization.

No, what many of us spoiled mmo players want is a balance: Acceptable graphics AND gameplay. I mean, didn’t many of us stayed in NW grinding the same thing for months? And we played even with the broken aspects and exploiters…

I loved Lost Ark but the fixed Camera was a huge turn-off for me. And then there was the monetization which is literally worse than BDO. Or was… Hard to find the right mmo…

Which has completely improved the F2Per QoL.

  • Two standardized PvP modes
  • Massive amount of catchup mechanics
  • RNG gear progression is almost gone from BDO
  • A 2 week old 550 GS account is going to make about 400 mil/hour. While a min maxed 750 GS account is making about 600 mil/hour.
  • They hand out cash shop progression items quite a bit

I went from being super critical about BDO about 12 months ago. To now praising their changes since then. To be honest a F2Per can get way further in BDO than they can in New World on average without any help in a 3 month period.

You told me. like 3 times already. And I even told you about my friend that went homeless cuz of bdo. And I know of several people that say the exact same thing as you almost every day, yet they are spending $400+ a month. While saying I don’t NEED to spend money in bdo anymore -__-

Until I hear you don’t have to spend ‘Rents’ in that game to reach endgame anymore, my trust in that company is literally negative. Meaning, I will always distrust first. No matter what its said.

So then you are against any of the popular Western subscription MMOs? We’ll sorry to say, but all you are going to get is shitty B2P MMOs. That do nothing to improve their game. Close the MMO and reuse that MMO assets in the remake under a different name.

Hmmm Thing is, for one reason or the other, the west has been terrible at making mmos outside WoW/GW2. Have you noticed? I mean, greedy as they are, Koreans are Kings at Mmos yet their greed is what destroys them.

Well, the greed of western publishers too but…korean games are developed around monetization itself so…

You can tell a lot of people feel stuck like us. That’s why many got hyped for NW and Ashes.

Well, it seems Ashes is getting more serious lately, so they might deliver a decent game. But I don’t see enough talent to deliver a ‘next gen’ mmo. But unlike NW, they don’t seem to be restricted by engine, unqualified personnel, or a rigid creative vision. I have hopes, at least. Think I lost it for nw…

WvW game design in GW2 was just max zergs running around the map, OPR game design elements are better because it requires split tacfics to win

Then why is the queues for OPR over 90 minutes if it’s better? Why does WvW in GW2 have so much more demand and interest if it’s worst?

This is kinda like saying FFXIV is a inferior MMO to New World. Just saying is all. But I respect your opinion, no matter how few share in it.

I enjoyed GW2, but NW combat just hits different.

Shame that almost everything else in NW is questionable.

GW2 was made to be accessible to casual players thats why they did away with the holy trinity and gave every character self survival, its easy to make groups with no class preferences for the content. But WvW is just a massive zerg fest, split tactics dont gain anything over a zerg because of continuous speed buffs, and for a year after release mesmer teleporting was infinite for ganking zerg v zerg

I got 1200 plus and kinda left this week just a broken :broken_heart: and game. Feel going to wait for Nightengale

Starfield is right on the corner

Nah, not going back to GW2 either, I played to many years and a thief, they never managed to get balance right either. there was a time were it was very close to perfect, It was acceptable balance, everyone was happy, 3 months later they managed to screw it up real good to the point that balance went from great, to the worst it had ever been.

That was wen I quit and promised myself never to touch it again.

GW2 is neat, I just don’t want to pony up like 100$ for all the expansion content and side stuff at this point.

Maybe the inkling will hit me later, but for now I’d rather just play Return of Reckoning to scratch my PVP itch.

Wars probably compares more to WvW than 3v3 arena.

And something to keep in mind is how exclusionary wars are compared to WvW.

I think 3v3 probably compares better to GW1 and Random Arenas (4v4 random queue), Team Arenas (4v4 organized), Hall of Heroes (8v8 tournament to hold the hall of heroes, you lose, you’re out and have to restart) and Guild vs Guild (8v8 first to kill the guild lord NPC in enemy base wins).

GW1 had people from all over to match against each other. No server lock so you could always find a team or an opponent.

Edit - one more thing I want to add is how easy it is to get “good enough” gear in GW1 and GW2. The same is not true in New World.

I choose option 3: the pve-only life. It’s bliss.
