By then, I’m afraid it will be too late. Soul frame is being built using existing tech and assets from war frame and these guys are now owned by tencent which is as massive as Amazon itself in China. Tencent + Alibaba = AWS + “AGS times 100”.

They wanna release an alpha next year with procedurally generated dungeons…

Then you have ToL releasing next year as well.

Well that happends but you play game where they have to create everything from 0. It is not like lost ark where they just uploading „new content” but created, tested 3 years ago and fixed 6 times already.

If I were AGS, I’d take all the shortcuts I can to make these things happen ASAP. Work smart not hard is how they’ve been approaching it the entire time, why not continue like that:

  1. For PVE combat improvement, simply add multiple charges to existing skills
  2. For enemy NPC variety, simply add new armor sets to existing AI and like with Varangian Knights, let the AI use existing player weapons
  3. For world bosses, simply spawn existing expedition bosses out in the open world and let them drop new stuff
  4. For dynamic world environment changes, reuse corrupted breaches tech to completely change the surrounding environment according to the boss fight you want to spawn from existing dungeons and mood you want to set…etc
  5. For raid group size increase, reuse invasions UI and let healers set focus groups to heal besides their own group
  6. Leaderboards already in the making, just need exclusive elite level show off stuff to go with it
  7. For player customization, this needs some new but minimal development that can become a decent source of revenue if properly monetized and well developed (player name change, appearance change, gender change, let us dye store bought gear, sell us tokens to collect in game gear as an xmog set)

No easy shortcut for the remaining points, but they are extremely important for the game to be fun and enjoyable by as many players as possible.

  1. Make invasions an actual open world town invasion using corrupted breaches tech
  2. Give all players access to war mode including casuals by introducing new territory control objectives at the faction level
  3. Same as #6 but for open world PvP specific activities using the existing forts and turn them into on going battles each with a set start and end timer with a few happening daily

so far I have seen max 5-10 different builds. MAX

It needs time like everything. I want remind you that games like mentioned Lost Ark, Albion Online ir FF14 were close to be dead :sunglasses: it took them few years to fix them and becoming really popular. If games fail and will be closed well that also might happend.

I really really hope AGS doesn’t abandon this gem of a game foundation and continue to polish and smooth the rough edges on the engine side as well as keep working on improving server performance…

Add to that, that they make wars more accessible, the servers have been dominated by the same people since day 1 of the game and there are many players who have not yet been able to enjoy a war and even an invasion (PvE). It’s kind of sad that this content is banned for many players and it’s already been 1 year since the game came out, but it seems that they are not interested in doing anything about it, just empty words.

Brought up a good point but due to how the attributes work, if you go off-meta builds you are either limiting yourself in dmg all around or having to sacrifice con to make up for dmg. Granted there are a lot of builds out there like GA/IG when Grav well and ice shower were OP in War and OPR but chances are extremely low for other weapons such as BB and Bow, they are simply completely different weapons that do not ever complement each other, not to mention if you go an off-meta build you are also putting yourself at a disadvantage if that build doesn’t perform as equally or better than regular Bruiser, Mage, and Range. I think a great change would be to completely change how attributes work and how they scale each weapon. Then this would not only solidify your point but it will allow people to diversify their builds and make something unique out of 432 different combinations of weapons and skills.

On paper, yes you could have so many combinations, but in reality it doesn’t actually work in your favor so nobody actually does it.

We are stuck with all kinds of limitations atm unfortunately when it comes to PVE combat. For example, we generally have one talent tree available for mostly PVE scenarios and one for mostly PvP, then you have the attribute allocation issue that further limits our enjoyment of the combat system in PVE situations.

I think PvP is probably closer to where it needs to be combat wise though, but there is always room for improvement.

This post is amazing! The rumored changes for brimstone are huge and I hope for AGS sake at least half of these changes are in the expansion.
