Your whole point is moot to the boatload of people who are new to the game or started after last years event. It’s all new to us.

It’s a seasonal event. Seasons come every year. I’m not sure what the complaints are about?
Don’t want to do it? Don’t. Want it to be less zergy? Wait a week when a lot of people have finished whatever they wanted out of the event.

Like Properso said, it’s a festival event with old and new emotes, cosmetics, gear plus extra way to get tokens with a new world boss thrown in.
The ambience festival events bring are awesome with towns decorated well and seasonal music. These events simply being something to do in between other updates.
For those muppets complaining about why we even have these events, it’s already been explained by Devs that different teams are involved in delivering other “high requested” content and once the foundation is in place the events are easier to sustain with slight adjustments / additions each time around.
No matter what Devs do, ppl biatchin’
It’s like when you hitup a nice restaurant with mates and there’s always one person who wants to look for faults, rather than just have a good time.
Even if you got something to say - can say it constructively and put forward well thought out suggestions rather than just moan.

These seasonal events are in the roadmap but its not new content. Not even recyled, just returning event. Sad there is not useful rewards, not even a legendary with luck or whatsoever
You have to cut AGS some slack on the copy/paste Christmas thing. I mean… with all the stuff they just broke, they’re going to need time to fix that stuff so rolling out the copy/paste was probably easier than coming up with new stuff and having to fix “both” things instead of just one. 
They didnt even reset the reputation for event … if u were capped last year you are still capped and no need to do anything
I think it’s ok for them to cut and paste.
I would not want to do the same mindless grind again.
Give those people who never experienced it a chance.
I would they spend their time on more important perm ideas and fix.
To my knowledge this is intentional, Ive failed to find it but I believe they said something last year that reputation was Gunna stick through time like factions etc reputation stocks through time
Of course its going to be copy and paste why would it not be. Seasons dont change so why would the event?
The rep stayed capped, but you have to run to the villages to unlock them again. 
I think the primary issue with the events is not the copy paste, but the quality of items and perks provides. The game is so deep into life cycle now that getting “Ok” items is no longer enticing. The halloween event was Amazing! as it was of value to all players. Where as this event because the perks provided on the weapons are very very poorly selected, the items are of near 0 value to the majority of the playerbase.
The halloween event having Keen locked on both 600gs and basic patterns Was amazing, GA Rolls out the wazoo!!! GS rolls out the wazoo!! IG/VG rolls out the wazoo!!

Issue with the halloween event is that they didn’t fix the issue of the 600gs Patterns requiring 150 weaponsmithing until after the event ended…
Now with this christmas event every 600gs pattern has a static 3 perk combo of … Keenly Jagged, Vicious, Chain Ice…

All the normal patterns have chain ice…
To the majority of players if they had an item drop with the same rolls as the christmas event, they would more than likely salvage it.

Did you play ark? That very limited Christmas event was the exact same every year. It’s normal. Nw Christmas event is way bigger. At least they added a cool world boss this year and new rewards.
There’s many things to complain about, yet this event is not one of them
Yeah I mean it might be really fun in summer of 2024 when we get new pvp content. They will probably redesign the interface of the button to sign up for opr and call it new epic amazing content.
