Maybe made a mistake, but it’s just a language translation, and it doesn’t cause much harm, I spend most of my time in New World, I love this game, and now there are nearly a few hundred players for this reason, Banned forever, they didn’t do anything illegal and unfair to others, maybe the admins should think about asian players who love this game, we’re just not that proficient in english
It’s a fair request from Chinese players. NW should allow for community language files and bans should be reserved for cases where player behavior is harmful or gives unfair advantage.
My game account has a running time of 1800 hours. I love my account very much. After today’s update, I was excited to complete all the main storylines of the new map. After that, our game account was permanently banned. I am very sad. I spent a lot of time and energy on it
The question here is : was it ONLY a language translator or they had other plugs-in with it ? Nothing about botting ?

I am not a professional programmer, I only know that it is a plug-in for the game, which can make it support translation into Chinese
Streamer selling new world mod not sure if it’s same Mod as this but they stated that this program was illegal

AGS’ Terms of Use clearly state we are not allowed to tamper with client files
2.5 Restrictions. You may use the Games only as permitted by this Agreement and applicable law. It sucks… I know. But you have to understand that from a company perspective it becomes a headache and a big issue if they allow modifications… some games allow this via modding like WoW, and as expected people abused it
That developer/enthusiast might not have bad intentions but their “path” could be used to lure other people to install malware and what not in their computers…
I guess he could try to shutdown the mod and appeal the ban, bit I would not hold my breath on AGS cutting him any slack

Always risky to install a program that isn’t by the official game developper. I have my doubt that this was ONLY for translation but have more in-depths « feature »

You can still appeal the decision and try to get unbanned if you tell them it was a translation software , not sure about how AGS support will respond to this though

Let’s not dive into knitty gritty details of how it was phrased since obviously OP is Chinese trying to communicate in foreign language. Your points are valid but this should be handled by AGS in a just and graceful manner if there’s no foul play from players. First revert bans, than warn players to not use modifications and finally propose a solution and there’s a plethora of things they could do. They could take initiative and provide some committeemen to translating, better yet provide an outlet where game can intake community provided translation text files (and that’s been the case for many games) or whitelist modification after validation. If there’s a will there’s a way. If there’s no will it should also be clearly stated. Remember that these players paid for their copies of the game just like everyone else.

If I read OP post in Game feedback you can see that this « add-on » is subscription based ( monthly payment). I’ve played enough mobile games that Thoses subscription model are for Botting program and not just « translation »

Well, of course… at the end of the day is AGS decision and its them who should determine if bans should be lifted or not… that’s why my recommendation was “appeal the ban”… I also offered a grounded advice to not get anyone hyped about appealing because unfortunately there was foul play: they modified client’s files which is against ToS
I really hope AGS give them a harsh “don’t do that again” and a second chance by lifting theirs bans… but as I said I would not hold my breath on that… but hey, ToS services also states that boosting is not allowed and there was an official response by AGS that “buses” or “taxis” where considered emergent gameplay and mods would not act on those players… which means AGS might not apply ToS to the letter.
They also need to adhere and follow the rules like anyone else!
