As a player with +5K hours, I can understand the lack of content (especially the pvp), I can understand the desync, I can understand the weapon rebalancing.
but postpone three consecutive times one of the longest patches that the ptr has had.
¿how do you defend yourself? ¿how is it argued? ¿how does it hold up?
You want to help, but clearly you can’t help someone who doesn’t want to be helped.
I hope they are aware that the disappointment is more than deserved. All the negative reviews have been earned. And all the reproaches are consequences of his ¿efficiency?
I was always advocating for the devs because I think they are always doing a good job communicating with the community and responding to feedback. At this point, I don’t really know if it is incompetence that’s holding these guys back. Apart from it being disappointing and frustrating, this update has been scheduled now for over a month, how could you possibly miss such a critical deadline especially since it is bringing possibly life to the game again after months of drought? And if it happened and everything went wrong and a delay was imminent, why tease the community with these “tentative” deadlines? Everyone knew that it was not logical to put the 2nd tentative date on Friday, so why have you even added it? Why even put the first date on Thursday? You see if you had the tentative date fixed on Monday the 3rd let’s say from the beginning, you could have saved us and yourselves from all the frustration. Again, I know it is not easy the job that you’re doing, but in the gaming world, and especially the MMO genre where players are so passionate about their game, screwing things up over and over and over is just not going to go down well with the player base. My server is dead now for over two months, I can’t move out because it is a FS, and the only thing that has really kept me playing in the last weeks is that I had nothing else to play. With big releases coming to the MMO market, AGS would need to up their game, otherwise the game will find itself in a very rough spot.
I feel much the same way, love the game, think the devs are mostly doing a good job, and try to provide constructive criticism when they make decisions I disagree with.
I can see why they didn’t go straight for the Monday extension, because people have previously been very pedantic about patches not being in the month they were announced to be in.
In hindsight, you are right and they should have given themselves more time rather than having to keep on extending it. I don’t think there is much trust left between players and the devs now.
We don’t know what the issue is but my gut feeling is that they haven’t actually found a solution to the problem yet. When you’re at that stage, it is very hard to estimate times. It would be good if we had some idea of which systems are affected and how serious it is, but I guess they have their reasons for not saying anything.
