Everyone is flagged. Those getting resources can be killed by enemy players ,dropped resiurces picked up and used by enemy teams

Yes, yes of course.
Tell this history to that guy in my server that runs haste, light armor, sns and hatchet, and the only thing he does is farm resources in time record with extreme optimized routes and with help of two other premade friends to win OPR.
I’m gonna illustrate you how these bg normally goes every day from 8pm to 12pm.
You will login and go to play OPR. You will be matched in the opposite team and you will see this guy in the other team with his usual two friends.
Because you are in heavy armor and you know you can’t counter him, because he will kite you easy and make you run for nothing, you expect that someone else with counter him. But nobody does it or can. The reasons are multiple: nobody can catch him. Nobody has a counter build for that. Your team is full of randoms that don’t play at that level of organisation and structure.
Because this guy will farm in time record a bunch of materials alone. Then when is time, his two friends will help him capture a point, if possible enemy base, and as soon is done he will fully build that base.
Then he will farm Kages and be ready to do Baron in 1 second as soon it spawns.
After that he will continue farming resources to build middle point and their base.
Then he will do the same with the second Baron.
Then every time a Fort is under attack he has so many materials that he will repair faster that the damage your team can do to try to destroy the door.
But hey, is not pve, is pvp.
Just to clarify again: you have no idea and you can’t imagine how fast this guy farms an incredible amount of materials in such a record time. And forget to fight this person because he is an officially OPR saboteur. He will never fight you and he will troll every one that tries to kill him. Having even more than 3 guys trying it. Losing their time while he stills picks resources by cutting trees and picking mines in two hits.

Sure you can, if you like doing that. If you prefer to kill players in OPR, I struggle to see the problem with players who do PvE. You could even choose to hunt and kill them. Or maybe I’m missunderstanding something here… anyway, if your trying to say that PvE is too strong, thats a balancing issue but not a fundamental problem with the game mode.
Yea same for my server, it’s super boring. Hope they get rid of the whole pve aspect. If not, they need to greatly decrease the Resources you get, if not increase the cost of the walls, because they are the most annoying thing in the game, there can literally just sit one guy and repair while 5 enemy’s try to destroy it and he keeps that wall up at 100%. I actually like the idea of the spawns, but I think you should unlock them from being on a 5 or 10 killstreak , not from mining a few nodes.
He’s right though. Players who actually do the PVE properly (i.e. not what you said; you could attribute the same accusation to PVPers who just stat pad by healing their mates whilst another mate hurts them or, not too far away, just stat padders who only kill soft targets and never support their team on point) are PVPing because they’re doing it in opposition of other players.
But it’s easier to segregate the things we do into PVP and PVE just for conversation. He’s just making a point. It’s a valid point. Entering OPR and not attacking a single player but still supporting your team is still PVP. The emphasis is on “supporting your team” here and the OP neglected to tighten down that screw before you loosened it

Well, but the geniuses think that fighting in zergs all the time in OPR is what you have to do.
Don’t like someone collecting resources? It’s simple, just go kill them.

Apparently, you either do PVE or PVP, never both. So how does one do this? I’m so confused

Very true.I’ve killed many of these “pvers” and taken their resources.
