There should be no option to turn off PVP. Its a PVP game

Anyways. Been fun reading how upset you get about how people post. I’ll let you get the last word because you apparently need a win today.

And now you’re coping with the fact that I presented you with logic lol.

Idk my guy with my company I don’t have any issues at all and I’m definitely not the one making topics whining.

New World started off as a PvP sandbox survival game so it naturally attracted the PvP crowd. That got toned down then it got a PvE environment attached to it and it attracted large portions of the PvE crowd too.

It made the game a huge sales success at launch, but now both crowds are disgruntled the game isn’t more to their tastes and claim “ownership” of the game’s core vision.

There should be no option to turn on PvP. It’s a PvE game

Sorry but in the age of optimization and min/maxing we would have packs of 50-200+ players spawn camping new players as they join the game 24/7 in every spot. It would be the worst experience for anyone in every way. And people not optimized in a party of 50-200+ would not be able to participate in the game in any way because every settlement would be camped 24/7/365.

This is what happens when the 4 starting zones are not safe zones.

Interesting idea. I’m not sure about it though. I think maybe there should be possibly even more modes of PVP. Like maybe PVP has different levels/rewards based of what level opponents you are flagged for. I’m not sure though. Just an idea.

I dont see how that is possible with so many town boards on my server down to 3 choices on the board because they are the constant 3 if nothing is being upgraded.

In my survey on Azoth and Fast travel I asked people what game activities they were interested in. Of 446 respondents, 28% of them selected Open World PvP. So if this is representative, nearly three quarters of the player base would not be interested in being permanently flagged.

Good point!

Actually they changed it because high-level PVP players were ganking new players almost exclusively.

It’s because you’ll get harassed by people who like camping corpses. Cutting off PVP helps with doing PVE content. That pretty much sums it up.

Just make separate pve-only servers for those who enjoy fighting mobs and RP’ing, and let the rest enjoy PvP

This game would be completely dead if it was PvP only.

Yeah sure

See its very easy…

Give people choice and they choose what is more fun.
Therefore PvP is consensual.
If it is fun, more people choose to partake.

The Problem with PvP i See are:

Balancing and metas.
Exploits
Itembased, so who grinds more has huge Advantage, so all casuals wont ever be good in PvP.
And If you are disadvantaged and lose to often, you dont have fun and choose not to partake.

Make PvP fun, fair, balanced and more people will PvP and enjoy it.

If you want people to do something and make it good you want them to want to do that and not force them to do that.

Exactly. I get my PVP fix in actual PVP games. Games of skill like FPSes and fighting games, not gear/level-dependent rpgs that give 12 year olds and no-lifers an edge because they can dedicate much more time to the game than casuals.

they also gotta change luck gear for mining etc…

cant be that u collect with a full Strength Gear as an Rapier user for example

As much as I honor your opinion it is unfortunately wrong from the basic assumption - this is NOT a pvp game - PvP is just a snap-on addition to cater for audience interested in the game - core of the game (as well as community playing it) is PvP oriented. So sorry, but no forced PvP flagging.
