But they can. If the melee is using heavy/medium armor, range light has kiting potential, while the bruiser has gap closing skills and cc with high cooldown.

If the bruiser is using light armor, range can 2 shot him, but here comes the issue. A bruiser with light armor and gap closing skills, cc and insane damage, becomes a range hunter.

I made a post where I mentioned melee should not be allowed to wear light armor and people jumped on me like I was the Antichrist.

No they cant. Not all. If you play mage in medium you cant. Even in light armor vs some bruisers you cant run away from them. Kitting does work only with x+rapier since with out it you dont have mobility to kite much. Since after each attack there is like 0,25sec when you character moves super slow.

And no you cant 2 shot light armor bruiser. If he is not runnign 50 con and you are not 350dex bow you cant.

And mele needs to run light to since its only way to catch up other light armors for them. In this case you have mele that can catch light but kill windows exists. And if other light armor can survive that kill windows he can escape vs most light mele builds. Exceptions are some super stupid builds like GA+ss or GA+hatchet. GA makes bruiser very mobile if second weapon also have some skills for mobility.

you can play up close to bruisers with light mage if you use ice rapier. it all comes down to your build, but at the end of the day theres nothing wrong with light, its the best imo, id never even touch heavy for pvp unless im with tower shield.

i also even missed a heavy inbetween if i was good it would have been 7-8k damage on medium in seconds. from distance.

That might be under geared person without resi. I’ve never been hit even from 3k fireball in light. When I was playing medium it was rare to get hit even 2k. No spike ever even made me look at the mage in sacred after the nerf

ice spike is insane burst dmg. if youre not getting hit for 3k fire balls then the fire staff is just bad. it should always hit at least 2.5k if you got at least 1 proc bonus. resil onyl effects crit aswell. you can 3k fireball without crit…

i mean i just posted a clip of me hitting 2.7k with a garbage fire staff and i am speced into a ton of con, im 150 con. still hitting 2.6k fireball non crits on med

Crit fireball shouldn’t do more damage to me than normal fireball. Maybe if I don’t have any fortify active and there’s rend on me I should get hit harder. I like ice spike a lot as well it’s just that the numbers you are saying are a bit too high for when fighting properly geared people. I’ve combo-ed healers as well and killed them but that’s 100 con or less ones with the segacious crap gear high numbers wanna bes

but i guess to some people a 3k aoe , burn applying, hit from distance, stacked ontop of a heavy attack 2-3k hit will never be good enough, sigh

thats just stat padding, its pointless to talk about ranking by just damage. These top 5 damage dealers are usually sitting on 2-3 kills and 40+ assist because all they do is tickle 10+ man with 200s tick damages.
