There's no excuse for the slow and painful crackdown on bots

You obviously are BLIND - or you are a bot yourself or run bots

You are obviously a bot yourself - or plain blind. I am on a high pop server and they are literally everywhere - cleaning out ALL resources and especially 3 star fishing holes, motes, base materials - they have literally killed the market - the lack of attention to this monumental problem by AGS disgusts me - the company and it’s censorship of things already disgusted me. I will never buy another AGS game - this was enough for me

start taking screenshots. you guys on this forums are in a crying wolf situation and i literally believe you just see empty nodes and scream bots when it was literally just another player that mined the node a minute ago.

@Sleen
Congratiolations, you reached lvl200 in
“Ignoring Facts”

Guys, please stop posting about the bot problem on the forums. The in-game report function is there for a reason:

You’re naive if you think this at all addresses the problems. Many of us have been reporting bots for months only to see they are level 60 by gathering alone, and still taking resources, this time the more important ones.

Just cause mommy and daddy at AGS ask you to do something doesn’t mean you shut up and oblige. WE paid money for this game. We have standards, very basic ones at that, that we want met. I have used the Amazon Games Support site for several bots and they are STILL in the game weeks-months later.

Stop drinking the koolaid, stop accepting everything they say to you as fact, start doing your research, read some news on the real reasons bots are not a priority, and educate yourself. This forum is not the only source of New World information. In fact, it’s one of the least reliable.

Furthermore, they said they are closing posts that are focused on reporting specific players or on specific servers. This is a general post on bots and AGS’ lack of control on the situation.

The post you linked is irrelevant.

I’m just repeating what the Community Managers have asked us to do.

Feel like they need to just shut down more posts about bots.

It’s detracting from the resources they have deployed; AGS works hard to give us new meaningful content every patch the Gypsum, Umbral Shards, Mutations and changes to elite zones.

Your post attacking me for repeating what AGS has said is irrelevant.

I’m not attacking you. I’m stating that just because they want you to do something a certain way that is “convenient” for them doesn’t mean you close your mouth and obey. That’s not how things get done and it’s not how voices get heard.

Many people on this thread have voiced very loudly how much their experiences are being affected by bots, and how many of them are quitting because of it. Last time I checked, making this kind of attitude publicly known will do AGS a favor rather than a disservice. They need to be made aware just how annoyed everyone is and how EXTREMELY NOT TRANSPARENT they are being even though they’ve said they would be.

AGS is not honoring their word on things and people have such low standards nowadays that they just think they should settle for whatever the company gives us. No. We are the customer. We paid them. They listen to us, not the other way around.

We don’t care about new content when we can’t even play a stable game. PvP exploits, house freezing, extremely bad lag in wars, the list goes on. Modern day gamers are so concerned with “omg need new content daily or I’m bored” that they don’t even expect a game to be shippable when they play it. They take the turd and say “eh good enough.” Well sorry, not some of us.

This problem needs to be addressed. It needs to be addressed PROPERLY, TRANSPARENTLY, and EFFICIENTLY.

You aren’t a forum mod. Leave the moderation to them. That’s their job not yours.

At the end of the day this is Amazon, the biggest company in the world. Get it together and figure it out. Incompetence is not an excuse.

wow, u ARE most certainly BLIND and want all of us to also be blind - the ONLY reason I can conjure for you to be taking the side of bots is that you are one - or you emply them.

The forum is an important instrument to give a community a voice. It is THE place to let AGS know, what we think. And I m thankfull, that there is a forum, where we can discuss issues (respectfully).
If we stop complaining about the bot-problem, AGS could believe, we accept the situation. We dont, but many give up. Thats sad. And reminders, we should not report bots in this forum, are a slap into the face of people, who wants to like NW !

Most serious criticism comes from fans, not trolls.

Beautifully said and thank you!

Guild Wars 2 has an exchange where one can either buy gold with real money or they can buy real money with gold.

The real money of course can only be used to buy tokens to spend in their store. Still it’s a solution that seems to work pretty well.

Player: Hey AGS please ban bots, take a look at this bot just take a look, you’ll see it’s a bot!! Just look at it!
westworld dev, no I mean AGS dev: It’s doesn’t look like anything to me.

Thank you for this post. I think AGS should have Bot day. Separate the employees into one group per server. Award an (you got it) $100 Amazon gift card to each member of the team that bans the most bots. Problem solved.

I have played GW2 for a while and still have it on my HDD  All in all good game and somehow it is pay to win.
But Gold / money and money / Gold is controlled by the publisher/devs. I dont like such feature, but controlled is better than illegal.

I am realy worried about the fact, devs (AGS) dont accept Bot-Threads anymore. It is a poor sign to toggle a community.
Ingame reports dont work. Everybody knows that. And when we are not allowed to open threads, report in forums or even discuss the problem, how can we believe in AGS promisses or build up trust?

Bots are one of the main issues of NW. Dear Mods, pls allow at least one main/collection thread in Bugfixes or anywhere here. We need to talk about it, because it is important and a public interest.

That would be because you’re skinning which is the least impacted by bots. Try some fishing.

good point but I do both. Report then kick.

Could it be that the people in charge of banning the bots are not aware of the game dynamics and the intricate programming gaming people will go to create a bot? In turn are unable to justify a ban. We as players spends hours playing the game and learning what real players do and act like. A person that has a pimped out resume and a massive education enough to get a nice cushie job at Amazon probably hasn’t spent much time gaming. I think some research development needs to go into creating an education course for these employees. Also a system where one person isn’t involved in making a single decision on the reports. Have it to where if a moderator is unsure the player is a bot, they can have it voted upon or looked at by a team. I have 10 bots that have been reporting almost daily for two months now. I have been very descriptive with their activity to no avail. So please do not try and say the issues being taken care of. Have your actions regarding the problem speak louder than your words and just fix it!

in game moderators atleast one on every server would solve 90% of RMT and bots.

Literally that simple. Have one person mod go on each server, talk to the community, get names, and observe behavior. It’s so incredibly simple to separate a bot from a real player.
