There's no excuse for the slow and painful crackdown on bots

Or… Amazon makes passive income from both the account sales and the gold-selling sites as well. Why shoot a golden goose?

This. Work on the problems of the game. Stop adding new stuff and new problems until current problems are fixed first.

They’re too worried about reaching quotas instead of fixes that will bring joy to the players.

As stated.

To use a car analogy: Even though the car is on blocks because someone stole the tires (bots, bugs, time sinks…) install a sweet new radio, wash and wax it is so it looks good…

Fix the problems, stop adding new stuff most people do not even care about! If we can’t get mats to craft who cares if really neat stuff is added to crafting? Sure we all love more grinding and nerfs, but what we really want the bots to stop, the bugs to be fixed.

Developers will never learn that people just want a fun and playable game. Of course there has to be some grind but some devs figure out how to hide it and make grinds fun. This game is like a grind simulator for what not to do. The grinds are right in front of our face laughing at us saying “no fun for you!”

I accept you have right to complain. Keep doing it but it won´t lead anywhere. I learned not to care about things I can´t change, im much happier since then in both life and gaming. I advise you do the same, its awesome

It’s deeply cynical, but my best guess is part of the slow movement on bots is that the constant creation of these accounts creates an artificial population inflation. For example, after consistent 25-50%+ drops month after month, the last 30 days have seen a 5% drop - there definitely have been less people leaving, but I don’t think the bleeding really stemmed that much, I bet it’s closer to another 10-15% drop, but literally thousands of bot accounts are being created, every one that does get banned, they make 2-3 more.

how many bots do you think are in NW community?

Yup.

Thats the difference between me and you. I believe we can help change. The Devs ask for feedback for a reason. Things in game have changed because of player feedback. Bots are reported by people playing the game. Doing nothing solves nothing.

You go about your merry way and let people crap on you and not care. Again that is your prerogative. I am perfectly happy and don’t need you to tell me how to live my life or make suggestions. Im 48 years old and have lived a perfectly fine life thank you.

All I am asking from you is to stop being so passive aggressive towards people leaving feedback. That is all. These forums exist for feedback. Yes some people are crazy trolls but negative posts about the game != equal troll all the time. Go enjoy your game. Don’t worry, the rest of us will help make it better why you enjoy being crapped on in the meantime.

I have noticed the same thing. They stop bot threads quickly, and if they reply it’s the standard report them in game response. Does make you wonder.

Feedback is great, assaulting someone isn´t. This is a quote from OP. This isn´t feedback, its pure aggression, nothing else.

Don´t get me wrong. I do report bugs, I even report goldsellers/bots ingame. I just don´t shit on AGS because I know how extremely hard is to deal with bots because I have experience with other MMOs which all try to fight them too without major success.

You ban 1 account and the exact same day you will have another account. Thats how it is and you can´t do anything about it unless you stop selling the game. As long as there is a demand there will be supply. Thats the curse of MMO games. It has been here since the beginning, it is here right now and it will be here in the future.

Removing demand is the only way of how to remove bots because then they will have zero reason to exist. No RMT = no bots (at least not those “professional” bots who are focused on RMT. How to remove demand?

I wouldnt call that assault. Irritating passive aggressive but assault no. Its due to frustration. What do you care about AGS? They are grown people they can handle it for themselves.

Several things can be used to deal with it. One they can pay a GM for all the high pop servers to get reports follow bot and remove said bot. That takes like 2 minutes time per bot. Imagine all the bans in an 8 hour shift. Of course they will buy new accounts. They can use said money they received from bot buying new account to help pay for said GM to ban them. It also curbs them. Banning bots that never get past level 10-20 is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR and away better than ones going for months at level 60. It doesnt fix the problem but it curbs it by a great deal.

Remove the reliance on lower level materials like iron. Bots dont make it past 20 and iron dont matter than bots dont make much money do they?

Next they find the buyers and ban them too.

The reason other MMOs also has problems is because no developer is willing to pay some people 15 bucks an hour to help curb the issue. These companies are getting billions. They can afford it. New bot accounts would pay for it if you say they buy accounts as fast as they do.

Doing nothing solves nothing.

Ya if AGS can’t figure out how to deal with bots running 24/7 for weeks then maybe they should just treat nodes like chests. You can harvest them once per hour.

My old farm spot has 3 bots running in circles all day. You can tell they are bots by how they spin on a dime and continue in paths. They also have to go in front of every node even if it is picked to bot the e button. I am on Olympus.

bots at this time

I posted myself on this topic 3 days ago. Ladrana speaks for a huge % of your population, who are being undercut by bots selling resources that then fund the gold sellers, who then sell on to needy players that inflates the prices of the BiS gear. So in essence, what you are condoning is a pay-to-play scenarion where 1, you make nothing out of (if you wanted pay-to-play, why not fleece the players yourself!) 2, you just want to make money off having a false sense of the number of players on the server/extra sales of accounts that will be used for botting, or 3…and more sinister, you are about to be the publishing house for Lost Ark, which many players are saying because the management of New World has been so incompetant and ignorant of its playerbase they will switch to…but isn’t that the perfect model for Amazon Games, so we all jump and fund your coffers further by having to purchase a new game from you? Conspiracy theory I know, but workin in a job where I assess business models and value for money, it’s very close to active unscrupulous behavior from shady companies out there. My 10 cents!

They err on the side of automated stupidity banning people that are mass reported to keep them out of a war but err on the side of the bots who are reported over and over and over.
