Sounds good, have you got a source for that?
Knowing how AGS does stuff, it would not surprise me if they also nerfed the chance to roll 600 GS items in the same patch.
Source for what? Play the game lol
They did not from my experience (ive rolled quite a bit recently)
In the state the game is now, its literally a catch up dream. Gypsum and regular dungeons will get her expertise up SO FAST and get her some usable items. Doing chest runs is increasing expertise a ton as well and makes you money. Once shes 600 expertise the mutations are going to be so easy she will sky rocket into 625. The only uphill battle is the expertise upgrades which really shouldnt take long at all
Id be great if they implement something like a weekly locked item that you select and it will drop more often then the others increasing bump chances but it will be locked for a few days or a week whatever the number would be.
That would definitely help the people to get the expertise at least on their wanted items unlike now just trying to frustratingly drop something or get gypsum.
I am already at 600 on everything besides amulet and earring. But it was a pain me as someone who simply does not like dungeons it was indeed a pain to do
I agree completely. These issues should be among the top issues to be fixed.
Unfortunately I don’t think AGS or a lot of the current player base sees it like this. They have the mentality that anyone who can’t cut how the mechanics work should leave and they game will be better for it.
They don’t seem to understand that no new players combined with disgruntled players leaving means that New World will eventually be desolate.
It won’t be until the servers shut down that these same people will complain that there weren’t any warning signs.
Dude I’ve been doing chest runs for 2 months now. I did normal Laz the other day and got 3 expertise bumps. What are you talking about doesn’t take long? What are you talking about chest runs increases expertise a ton? Go look at the screenshot I posted a couple posts up from yours. It is todays IP chest run haul. A bunch of garbage and 1 wm upgrade total.
Yeah unless it’s intended I ain’t level up crafting to 200 to find out it’s a bug.
those small attribute bumps add up mate, being 300 main stat and 160 con allows for 200 con with food while not reducing dmg and in case of strength users not getting grit on hits.
nah mate they nerfed chest run bumps significantly in the gypsum patch. only fast way for bumps is dungeon grinding but orbs are the time gate there either that or your buying slots.
easiest way to implement this would be allowing to atleast buy unlimited normal dungeon orbs for laz/gen from faction vendor.
yes its fair.
If a dude learned to play a sport in 1 year as good as you had in five years. is that unfair?
Its in the patch notes
Its so funny because all gear between 550-590 is now entirely freakin worthless.
Its basically always been worthless, get better stuff
I have gs610
Its just a stupid design to kill all that stuff. It wasnt always ‘worthless’. Its not about “get better stuff”. Its about a dumb design choice. Dont be an apologist for dumb design choices.
Technically by adding perks to the perk pools, they did reduce the chances of target crafting a 600 GS BiS item that you want to have.
Not what you meant I’m sure, but when you’re trying to roll 2-3 perks and the list of them gets bigger, its just more rolls that need to be done.
More mats, more timeless shards if you’re going that way, more money to pay a crafter if you didn’t bust out 200 crafting in the early days, since its insane to get it now…
Just to make the earring I want right now, went from probably 15 to easily more than 20 tries, and I’m willing to take just the stat and 2 perks I want and umbral it the rest of the way to get the GS on it. I could do without a 3rd perk.
I cant imagine how bad it would be if I had 3 perks I wanted along with the stat.
I’m late to reply because I took some time away from this game.
I agree in principle that starting before others should have its advantages, such as already maxing your level, having access to the higher tier gear before other players, having access to the higher tier resources before other players, having access to the higher tier content before other players etc.
What I don’t agree with is new players having to go through an entirely different, and longer, journey than someone who started early.
Let’s use an analogy: I go to university to study and become a doctor. My course is a total of 5 years of study, 5 years of being a junior Dr, and then I am able to become a fully-fledged Dr in my field. Now, someone new wants to become a Dr, they should go through the same journey I did and have access to the same opportunities I had when they complete their training. However, the establishment decides that once they’ve done their 5 years of study, they have to do another 5 years in order to be able to move into being a junior doctor. Why? well, it’s an arbitrary decision made purely because this university decided they wanted people to spend longer on their campus. The result? The new students decide that it’s not fair and not worth their time, and go to a different university. The university population declines and no one wants to start their journey there. They eventually have to close because they failed to bring in any new students.
Many thanks for that essay. I’m a 100 % with you. Frankly: What AGS did, simply sucks. But unftly we seem to have no influnce of undoing it. In such situations, I as one of those who are ‘behind’ tend to see the positive in it. After all, it is my decision to continue or not. My decision so far was: I did not play anymore since they introcudec the winter stuff and the gypsum. This was already too dumb for me ![]()
Question is - what’s the best way to compensate for this ‘unfairness’? Faster XP-gain up to LVL 60 for new chars? Could be. Or that new chars have higher drop chances and need less items for the updates. But then again, the once from the beginning complain.
Bottom line is: We never have a guarantee and the producers never guarantee that mechanics remain as they are in the start. I myself cannot be arsed grinding Gearscore. I’d rather play Vampire Survivors for the same amount of time, coz it’s funnier ![]()
