It’s called diminishing returns. A real diminishing return on stagger, roots, snares, slows, any sort of action that prevents you from controlling your character and it should be a hard diminishing return not a reduced. Something similar to how other games do it so that once you make it through so much your completely immune for a certain amount of time.
Additionally, WTF doesn’t every heartrune remove CC effects on use? Make the use in a pvp a little more strategic similar to the trinkets they used to have in WoW to combat CC.
I play spear/hatchet LA on FS and just feel bad for mages. They just can’t get away once you close unless they hit a burnout. But you can sweep or vault kick or SD root them easily in that long animation.
I’ll die occasionally to a perfect RNG ice spike, but if you use spike and entomb you don’t have storm or ice shower.
This game was made for people like you. Terribly bad. But you’re still broken asf and can do endgame content a 5 year old could do just to feel a little bit capable in your life.
Go play meele and see how it goes.
Ranged is so broken it made me quit the game.
I just didn’t know it is THAT broken until I played it myself.
If you have more than 3 deaths with 5con as ranged you’re legit slow in the head
If most melee weapon swings at air they are self rooted regardless of what they hit. 2H melee attack animations are also very slow in comparison and make you a target dummy besides GS.
Mayb GA to but it has so much tools build it that you can setup kill - gravity well - or put so much presure on mag - charge, reap - that he will burn stamina fast and then you can land anything you want.
I will… all the mages and dex saying GA is in a good spot means it’s not.
A mage with flamethrower can walk in a circle and you can’t hit them with great axe.your avatar stops moving while you swing and they simple walk out of the tracking distance… it’s broke.
I will agree to remove/ reduce tracking when I’m not rooted to the ground during my attacks.
We’ll see if that manifests. Will take a lot for me to empathize with GA strife though considering it’s been the cornerstone weapon until allegedly now.
I was simply discussing the drawbacks and lack of attack fluidity that was mentioned not their full kits. Mages dont like being slowed while lobbing lights or heavies.
Melee’s don’t like being self-rooted each time they attack with their weapon since this game lacks split body design.
Cant have it both ways. Try swinging a hatchet out of range of your target its painful. Swing a hatchet at an ice pillar, cant hit it.
Hatchet is bad, hammer and Great axe are good on heavies and bad on lights attacks.
Compared to great sword all of the above suck.
Melee has a lot of issues with desync, lag, hit box registry still. Its not always tracking thats at fault.
Lack of split body movement while doing melee attacks is rough. You’re self-rooted during attacks. Hit lmb one too many times? Have to wait while the full swing animation completes and recovery before you can move.
Yeah, I do think weapons should more or less be in unison. Either there should be uniform down time/rooting/slows between attacks for our characters, or they should all be fluid. The problem becomes when some feel fluid and others very clunky to play as we currently have.
Most would prefer more fluid play that doesn’t feel clunky. I’m just saying it should be one way or the other for all weapons, not just our favorites while everyone else suffers.
Weapon/build balance is absolute trash right now, worst it’s ever been. I lived through the GA giga-slides, SnS combos, et al. And there is just a huge gap.
Melee are all just mobile landmines that can mow down huge swaths of area with no counter. Stuns and roots barely work against the bunny-hop/grit spam. I thought the buffer was the worst thing to happen to this game until they implemented this mega-slow. Light, short range builds are dead unless you have grit or love running halfway across the map. What is the point of dodging if the next attack hits before you can execute another dodge? What is the point of the stamina bar?
To be honest it’s very frustrating being a medium bruiser (ga/wh) right now so I struggle to understand your frustration. Without a vg/ig and healer in tow it is almost impossible to secure any kills…
It’s like waking through molasses trying to close with anyone and then when you get there as soon as you swing you are locked to the ground and they just flèche or burn or charge or even back away… I have sat there trying to hit a mage in flamethrower and I get to him and start swing and his is just backing away and I don’t hit him… dodge up to him and start another attack he backs away, and I miss cause of the root… these flame throws just back away in a circular motion and unless you use skills to stun them you can’t hit them… it is dumb. It should not be that way.
