This is How you Deal with a Musket premade in OPR

If I’m with a healer I don’t care about muskets at all.

But yeah sometimes they can spawn camp you in an open field and this is annoying as there’s no counter play rather than just strafe left and right and hope they miss.

Crazy range and hitscan doesn’t feel right TBH

How to fix:

I understand you need to AIM and fps players like playing muskets.

I suggest to remove int scaling from the musket - so that muskets aren’t forced to run 5 con and play at 100m range.

Also give it some impactful med-range AOE ability that can be used for clumps (can be disease/roots/rend/stun)

Remove the X3 zoom and the passive that gives damage for long range shots.

Keep it as an aim based weapon

4 muskets are tough agreed , but like 4 players of any build attacking same target typically can delete together. Not defending musket but dam . Coordinated teams in opr can do work regardless of builds imo

It’s just the map that makes musket op. I’ve played against some of the top musket players in arena in 3-stacks and win with my assassin build.

In opr its a different story, you have to kill them before they get empowerment stacks otherwise just avoid them.

OPR map is a bit stale anyway. They should change it.

Hope they rework it or put a different one in with more ruins as cover and less trees and foliage which only help the musket players as they use profiler to help remove them

The brimstone sands update would be a great segue into producing a brimstone opr themed map with ruins as proper cover to mitigate this musket and bow ‘cod gameplay’ and then give them utilities and then tweak them so they aren’t trash in close proximity.

^ don’t think they will do this but would improve the game IMO.

Bruh right. If you need to “tweak” the game and abuse broken mechanics. Are you rly good? Maybe, but I’m inclined to believe that it’s more about the abuses of mechanics than “skill”

Looks like CoS. Those guys can go to … You can chase one but the service you do he rapiers away while the other three shot you.

You could opt to not go after one, but then they have full empowerment and decide where everyone can go on the map. It’s a lose lose every time against muskets. At least with bows they damage their teams chance to win. With musket they control the whole flow of the round and you lose.

For example your team pushes backcap and they shoot your backline healers until the push stops. Did a good job holding the middle? God help you if you think you’re going baron, or if you are unlucky enough to die you never make it back to the fort.

Weapon needs reworked.

Sadly it had to be done due to lag projectiles were causing way back last year. Although I think the time has come to switch back. Provided the game can handle it now, otherwise it’s not the best move considering all the desync and lag we need to deal with already.

I’m all in on musket rework but again the video proves not much besides player mistakes and that neither is your main weapon .
Using all your stamina till bar is gray, holding onto leaping strike instead of using it to leap into safety

Anyways hope musket gets a rework so people can shut up and get owned and come back again to unite on the forum because they are getting rolled by reworked musket.

Cuz you have a fighting chance against those. Me and my team won against IG/VG and a healer in arenas. We only had a healer and a couple of melees.

musket would be far easier to use if it were projectile based; hitscan is extremely unintuitive. I mainly use musket and I really wish it were projectile based.

Yes if people leave they will get bored.

You get salty messages as an average or below average musket - that’s how low the bar is to do “good”

You get temp or permanently-banned when you’re a good musket, instead of sent salty messages because everyone just mass reports them.

This is the downside to a hitscan weapon, because no skill is involved with hitscan. You point and click, and the damage is auto applied. Players can’t dodge hitscan. Players can’t juke hitscan. There is no counter to hitscan other than simply not fighting a musket.
