This IS the Day / Night Cycle

I saw people asking around about this and nobody knew the answer, so I replied to their threads but I needed to put this out there in it’s own thread.

I have stared at the sky for a few hours now. Here are my findings as I couldn’t find anyone else who knew.

90 - 95 Minutes is the full day/ night cycle from what I’ve been able to determine from the WIndsward clocktower. It chimes every 5 minutes in the day and every 2.5 minutes at night.

There is a dusk time, which is the 5 minutes that serves as the transitional period.

About a minute into it the moon comes up I think, and glowworms start spawning for people maybe? I couldn’t find a glowworm until like 3 minutes into the dusk time, well into the moonlight.

Once the moon comes up it DOES NOT MOVE.

2.5 minutes into the first unit of the night the tower’s chime rang! What?

There are either 9 or 10 units of the full nighttime.

I’m pretty sure there are 9, and the 10th 2.5 minute period is the moon setting and the dawn breaking.

Then we move back into 5-minute intervals. I think we can get the info from this.

2.5 minutes per night cycle @ 10 = 25 minutes.

5 minutes per day cycle = 14? (I didn’t start counting at Dawn so this is a guess. It could be different but I assumed they were at least keeping 24 units of time in the day.)= 70

So this is like a 95-minute day/night cycle?

This sounds wrong. I’d assume it was 90.

I desperately want someone to confirm this information for me about the day and night cycle. I’m hazy on the exact number of night units as of right now, and also how long dawn is.

I’m currently testing another method that doesn’t work… My shadow moves counterclockwise around my body as I stand in Ebonscale. Am I missing something fundamental about sundials or does the game just not take place under the sun / not on earth.
Even if it’s backwards it still me be usable though. I am going to work on this one some more, as well as verify the dawn and dusk time periods.

I need the # of day cycles confirmed. this may be lower. Check back here for information and changes. I will remove inaccurate information.

Thank you. Excellent!

I’m unsure if this video has it’s audio adjusted in some way but the chime rings every 8 minutes in Reekwater. This throws a wrench into my theory.
