Half ranged damage output and we’d be somewhere near balance.
Ranged self peel, haste and damage is so overtuned.
Melee are left with slow, telegraphed, desyncy gap closers with high cooldowns that can be outplayed with a single dodge, tomb, shower or rapier ability.
TTK is low enough that even using the gap closer will probably get you killed.

I agree with OP that the current OPR meta is horrible but I dont think that buffing bruisers is the way to solve it. I’d rather see them decreasing the dmg output in general and esp. of bow and some FS abilities/flare. It’s too much damage with the fortify changes.
In my opinion, weapons that have the advantage to apply damage from a range on which their opponents are not able to damage them yet cannot have such a massive damage output at the same time.
hmm I think more punishment for going less the 200 con is needed but we are talking about two ranged weapons specifically here… a change in how con scaling works might help a bit… Glass cannon builds are definitely still a problem and in this meta they can go largely unpunished sitting in the backline.
I still think there is too much mobility for ranged players, in high level wars you see the best bows and muskets fighting near the enemy war camp because it’s so easy for them to escape and dish out damage from there unpunished.
FS/IG has similar powers with a haste passive and ice shower distancing and quick frost.
Free haste passives on ranged need to be looked at and now IG has become the biggest crutch in the game…
I can’t see anything but damage nerfs for the ranged weapons, there should be an advantage for actually catching somebody but they are so free to dish out damage for most of the match that there is no way they can go on without massively lowering their output.
When ranged weapons are tuned down, I think lifestaff is the next biggest culprit as right now it is impossible to challenge groups with a lifestaff.
Not true at all! Great axe and hammer saw skill damage drastically reduced , and the move of grit to 300 con also reduced str weapon damage. It was partially balanced by the fort changes… but not nearly enough.
In a 1v1 duel with a bruiser, it takes at least twice as long. My buddy and I were laughing at sub 1000 damage hits were tickling each other with… it’s laughable
Ya so in duels or OPR you can do this. In war not as much, GS/spear aren’t viable for the role. Not saying these weapons are bad, they just aren’t realistic for a bruiser. Trust me, people have tried, they just don’t work in a role requiring you to be surrounded by tons of bodies.
GS excels on the outside of point, but is almost useless on the point. Spear doesn’t do anything to bruisers in war.
Does anyone have the difference in damage between 210 str and 300 const and 310 str and 200 const? with all the equipment/perk they require? I doubt it’s a lot.
The issue is that wasn’t the only change… any one of the changes would probably have been fine, but pile them all up and it makes bruisers borderline in wars and useless in opr.

Dps has been reduced to a point that you might as well take other classes… just use great axe as offhand to clump with grav well.
who told you that these weapons shouldn’t do any damage? it does not make sense. they nerf all STR weapons, so explain to me why STR shouldn’t do damage? we are not talking about the CON. STRs should be strongest in AOE melee
300str GS does insane dmg. You dont have to split anything. But yea on top of that u can split it to do even more crazy dmg. Where bows, fs, igs, vgs and few others don’t have that option.
But that was not your point. Your point was that str does not have weapons doing crazy dmg and its not true. You just want to have crazy aoe utility and dmg on same weapons. Thing is it was crazy broken and isnt coming back. So want both aoe and dmg, swap wh or ga for another weapon that does dmg.
The game has become meta for streams that will later talk about our game updates are not attracting players! and then those same streams they listened to would say the following: it was the fault of the DEVS WHO DIDN’T know how to make decent updates that the public likes!

the public wants new opr maps, new 3v3 maps, new open world maps and new weapons set with cool skins and so on.
pvp is cool before I didn’t see the need to move so aggressively in some classes!
Greataxe should be the strongest aoe melee weapon or be reworked because it doesn’t really have a lot going for it now as the greatsword is both better in single target and aoe. The utility it brings is what? An easy to dodge clumping tool and chase potential that can also be easily evaded. I guess you can put weaken on that list with maelstrom weapon perk. Greatsword should hit hard because you take more damage in onslaught. I don’t like the greatsword though its boring to use it basically just for dungeons
Ye I agree with this. Don’t think str weapons need more damage. There just needs to be a reduction to range damage and see how it feels. Rn range puts out too much damage and I think that’s the largest issue.
Honestly though, if they implemented a role queue into OPR I’d love to see how it felt in the current patch.
