I were going to use my accountname that i did use on an old character. Now im getting the “This name cannot be used.” error and dont know what i need to do. I have used this on another character and played on it but deleted it now and wanted to use it on a new character.

@distantefix I deleted the character like 2 min befor trying. So yesterday, then tried again and again all day but still did not work.

I’m back with an update. According to the information you provided, you deleted the character approximately 6 days ago. Once a character is deleted, a 90 day cooldown period starts. If you with to use the character’s name again on another one, you’ll have to wait these 90 days in order for the name to be reused. I hope this information helps.

@distantefix As far as I understood…
This cooldown period was meant to be a kind of a reservation cooldown to prevent that anyone else is using your name. So, I would expect to use the name as often as I like, as long as it is being used for one character concurrently.
Did I miss something?
The 90 day cooldown is probably there so that if for some reason that deleted character was restored there wouldn’t be any name issues.

That is correct! This is part of the reason why we must wait 90 days after a character is deleted in order to reuse the name, even if it’s on the same account that used it beforehand. Thank you for the info!
