The idea is pretty simple: if you craft a 550GS piece and a new lvl 60 buys it, his expertise will downscale the piece to w/e his lvl 60 expertise is, say 500. So what is the point in buying crafted gear when you can just use the orbs and farm your expertise / obtain stronger pieces over time.
Also, if you have done 0 HWM farming since launch, maxed out all professions, and crafted all top tier high GS sets, you are about to reset to basically what a fresh 60s power spike is. Your gear will be meaningless because you “didn’t do end game the way AGS wanted you to”
This doesn’t make sense and now seems very confusing, but this sounds like it’s forcing players to PVE their carrot, while crafting will be made for folks leveling it up. I really hope this doesn’t get implemented because it just makes it more confusing and not worth while for players.
You should only be buying gear for stats and perks.
So what if the gear levels down, if it has good stats and perks it levels up with you and you’ll still want it and use it.
The only thing this really hurts is people trying to sell crap gear in the AH for big coin because it’s legendary. No one wants to pay 5k for your light armor that has STR and INT with a bow perk.
