no point posting here anymore mate its convoluted with different stories, we will need to see what happens when they fix it and give items back but the issue i have with there statement @NW_Mugsy is that how can you give items for something that is RNG (unless they are giving crates back but how do they identify the amount of crates/items :S)

We just released an update on the Smelting Crates issue and our findings from our investigation of missing or incorrect rewards. You can see it here: [Notice] Investigating Smelting Crate Issue - #2 by TrevzorFTW
Moving forward, if you believe that you are missing rewards that are guaranteed (remember, the Smelting gear is a low-drop chance item from these crates) please include the following with your reports:
- your in game name
- which server you are playing on
- when you were opening the crates (i.e. what time and time zone)
- where you were when you were opening the crates
- a video showing you opening the crates and not receiving your guaranteed items

well i recieved all normal items, sadly in 34 T3 crates didnt got any smelting gear 
just unlucky i guess
It has Low Drop Rate. they aint suppose to be easy to get. Wouldnt be suprised if they have the same drop rates as Trophy Mats
what about all the people that opened the creates before the locked them?

how im supposed to remember where and when i opened to crates and have a video of them

Thats what im saying… They’ve always had Low Drop Rate. Even before the patch. People are thinking Smelter gear should drop as common items but they dont. They are a rare item like Trophy Mats. So everyone that reported saying they never got any items were only crying because they had bad RNG and didnt get any “Smelter Gear” …
But then they claimed to say " Actually we didnt get ANY materials from the crates" Which is why they were locked and investigated.
The invesgation happend and through Logs and Data. they have determined EVERYONE they reported not getting “Drops” were in fact getting drops just were unlucky and didnt roll Smelter gear.
So locking Smelter aptitudes were unnecessary simple because they were working as they should have been but people lied and said they werent getting items

Maybe the chance for smelter gear is 5-10%
Dat means if you unlucky you open 30 cheast or more and got nothing.

On March 1st we disabled the ability to open Smelting Aptitude Reward Chests as we saw a large number of reports of the chests not providing the correct rewards upon opening. Our game team has thoroughly investigated these reports and here are their findings:
- They have investigated many users from here on the forums reporting incorrect rewards. Our server telemetry shows that items from these reward chests have indeed been received by the players in question, with some instances showing that the items were sold via the Trading Post mere minutes after the chest was opened

No issues for me. 2 hours after patch i opened 20 crates got the whole set. I had a total of 30 crates. I got an extra smock and hat piece. Sold the two extras in 5 minutes and binded the rest. Made 90k so fast i never even made a price i was offered.
