Tier V resources and the way to obtain them

im not going to sit here and imply malicious intent such as “all pvpers are bullies”

i just believe many are simply shortsighted and have no empathy towards other types of players.

they dont understand that there are people that can sit there for 10 hours non stop farming basic materials and actually enjoy it.

there are certainly pvers that also cant understand that there are people that like to beat each other up.

thats all it comes down to.

I used to have this mindset as well, I always wanted forced flagging and rewards but I’ve come to realize there is alot of diffrent playstyles in a game like this and I’d rather not kill Sally the single mom who plays this game because she finds the gathering experience cathartic lol. Pvp should be something fun for everyone, not one persons enjoyment and the others misery. With that being said I’d love a pvp focused territory that pvpers can enjoy that’s incentivized with something other than rare gathering.

there are always other options that doesnt just involve forcing everyone into pvp.

new zones new modes new concepts to open world to make sure pvp players have equal representation while not stepping on those that dont want to do it should be how the devs consider when designing said modes.

thats better for everyone.

easy thing to do would be to just grant grit/stun immunity when harvesting…

for stealing nodes sure.

or alternatively a lock on resources if some one gets knocked out of it while hitting. (to prevent people from trying to snag it) (for a short period of time)

there are situations where a full blown immunity would be fairly powerful in places like myrk or mines.

i think a timer would be better especially in a lower level area incase some one decides to be saucy and train lower level mobs to stun you out. you should be able to clear it quickly.

but for every other economical issue this doesn’t solve much.

They using this a a content filler at the end of the day. There is no end game content really although they are adding some, mutations etc, Keep people fighting over thin air, whilst they sort themselves out. Personally think it’s causing more damage then its worth.

The world is so small compared to all other decent MMO’s at launch.

I moved to a low pop server to finish levelling crafting, there a still ori issues, just not as bad. Last chance saloon for this game for me.

Unfinished game with unproven concepts, all needing to be sorted out.

Looking at another post they are increasing the speed at which resource nodes spawn but reducing the amount you get when you harvest. (slaps Forehead)

we fight enough over material nodes as it it already. Get Rid of the Bots and Add more Nodes, END OF STORY!

I would LOVE for it to be a pvp only thing, but it just isn’t viable.

What we need is a pvp area, composed of a couple solo farmable bosses (no BIS drops, but maybe a few decent ones with access to the global loot table), and a good chunk of farmable resources. Being in the area auto flags you.

Seems like copying Runescape…but it works.

Gathering the highest tier material should bring a challange with it. Just as the easy dungeons were made more difficult by adding mutations, I believe same should come with mining orichalcum. Can you tell me what’s the fun in afk camping nodes while watching youtube?

I think a better solution, if possible to implement, is once you farm anything its not accessible until the cooldon resets. So you can only hit that ori node once per day

I think it’s better for the nodes to be instanced in PvE and contestable in PvP but the luck for PvP luck should be 50%. That would guaranteed solve the resource issues.

No forced flagging please! I enjoy my chilled runs for materials without having to keep a watchful eye for other players.

Forced flagging would just promote people to camp and ambush you, no thanks!

I didn’t even need to click the title to know that the post is PVP related. No thanks. Instanced nodes is the way to go, this way players can’t spawn camp nodes from other players. Forcing players to flag for PVP to get certain resources? forcing in all forms is not good for the life of the game. MMORPG’s should be about freedom and having fun, not forcing something that could be tedious in the long run. Or maybe add PVP only resource areas.

If you want resources all you have to do it buy a bot script. They are plentiful and easily available. And best of all, AGS does not permanently ban bot accounts.

Bots always have been, and always will be, the meta for getting materials and gold. AGS does not care about bots and they don’t care that they have lost tens of thousands of real players because of the bots.

Just get a bot! After all, you are playing Bot World.

Until AGS gets a new development team that actually cares about the bot infestation, the game will remain trash.

Gathering resources should never be a challenge. Thats just silly.

This same thing has been brought up dozens of times before and it has not led anywhere. No idea why some players are desperately trying to turn resource gathering into potential toxic PVP gankfest which eventually kills the game.

Aeternum is meant to be an inhabited world of survival where resources are a competition, not an entitlement
