Time for Universal Storage?

Given the state of linked storage, I find going to between each territory to find where I put X mat or X gear set is tedious.

How does everyone feel about universal storage? It would be difficult to figure out how storage chests, territory upgrades, etc weigh into the proposed change but there are workarounds.

Your total storage can still be affected by territory upgrades and storage chests. It feels clunky and anachronistic to browse by location. A remnant of the past.

Thoughts?

I prefer they don’t do it until they get load outs in the game as I use the different storages for organizing my gear and a working filter system to easily find mats. .After that I’m all for it.

That’s true. Would be problematic to keep gear sets organized without loadouts.

Universal Storage, as in one big storage that allows you to create your own tabs etc., is a long-overdue quality of life change.

As far as I’m aware, I think the technical limitation behind universal storage is the same as the 500 item limit. Load times for actually getting all of the items.

No thanks, if an error in the inventory system occurs id rather it be limited to a single point of failure than possibly all inventory.

It really isn’t much more complicated than being organized about where you store what where.

Like others, I only want universal storage if we can have customisable tabs for organisation or, at the very least, the perk filter. I use the different locations to sort between gear types.

They need to increase Storage Shed weight limit by atleast 10x. Start from 10,000 and go from there. 500 different items limit is ok!

Storages are good as they are.

Universal storage its worst idea on this subject, as will create a big chaos having all stuffs together. Many players are using storages for different type of resources or armors. Putting them all together would delete any organization made by players to set their items in a specific order.

Increasing storage shed by 10x it wont help game in long term. Simply because some bots or trading players will dominate a 10x times bigger amount of resources.
At current state its very good as nobody can really monopolize market on specific resource type.

I put different things in different locations. Eg Everfall is my Cooking and Arcana storage, weavers fen is metals and stone, Reekwater weapons, Brightwood armours… etc

Exactly! Organized players are doing pretty fine like that. Merging all storages together would just affect all organized players.

I do wish we could add a note to the storage label though, so I could write it down.
I always keep water at Windsward to, as it reminds me there’s a steam to get water from there as I keep forgetting. :joy:

Locations should just work as tabs though. It’s a real pain to not have access to the resources for crafting, just pointlessly withdrawing and placing spares back afterwards.

This made sense when it still came at a cost. Now it’s just a pain.

So just a normal mmo bank then? I feel the same. I kind of understood the way they did it on launch but it was bloody expensive to move stuff and with towns changing hands and different upgrades it was a real pain with the amount of assets you had to move! It’s certainly better/easier like we have it now but yes, it could be improved to be clearer. I’d like more of the screen to be utilised to see more of the inventory too instead of scrolling as much, though I feel that will still be needed.

To help with storage why not allow furniture to be more useful?

Allow pieces that are made for storage to contribute to increasing storage to that zone?

Tiers will influences %increases too.

We can also nill zonal storage. Each place discovered adds X to total capacity.

I agree storage needs some changes. With that said I organized all my stuff a long time ago and it was the best decision i made. I know where all my stuff is, the only tedious thing is having to click the settlements to dump stuff in the right place

I would be happy with some sort of indicator to indicate what storage sheds have stuff, instead of trying to remember what towns I left stuff.

My problem is the limited active listing and there is no filter to search for perks / attribute like TP it would help a lot. I have hundreds of boe across all my storage / bunch of different 625 set for different activity / probably over 20 625 GS spear an bow . Good luck finding. And they also can increase normal storage capacity by at least 1T for each town. EACH town I have is full and almost weight capped. Full storage / 100 active listing / Gold cap , daily struggle

Yeah Universal Storage is long overdue, but as others have said it needs to come with:

1 - customizable tabs or user-created folders for organization (just like the windows file system); and
2 - robust search features

The fact that people are working around the terrible organization by storing things in multiple places is simply NOT a reason to leave storage as it is.

Since the game came out I’ve been saying this, I find it pointless to have so many different storages in every town. Although I like how the new system allows you to grab and alter your storages from town to town , One big universal system that allows you to create your own tabs would be greatly ideal .
