And I respect this, I have been merely pointing out that experiencing this when it’s most important and the hook people need to stay playing this game is not here anymore. It saddened me to go up against someone I knew I could beat and I just could not do any damage cause I had just hit 60 and had not the time yet to grind out any GS. So now my random encounters are not based on the fun of will this guy/girl put up a good fight to well crap I cannot fight half the people I run into now that I’ve made it to 60 let alone not being able to fight pretty much anyone the whole time I leveled to 60 because now on top of that I have to enter yet another grind just to be able to enjoy PVP on somewhat of a regular basis.
AGS is already closing the gap in casuals vs no lifers.
- BIS weapons are easily accessible from PvE
- OPR drops plenty of 2 perk gear with BIS Legendarys having a chance at dropping in what seems to be 1/50.
- PvP tracks drops some really really nice stuff as well.
- All these BIS and abundance of 2 perk gear is dropping the demand on really good gear in the trading post and thus lowering the price making it accesible to those who arent owners of territorys.
- They increased the ammount of shards you get from Gypsum casts
- added shards and gypsum to OPR (I would like to see the amount of shards increase drastically for winning)
- Added shards to chests
This is one mmorpg where im not discouraged from trying because the grind to being competitive in PvP seems easily accessible. If AGS ever raised the level cap from 60, making all my gear obsolete, I wouldn’t be discouraged from gearing up for the level cap raise either so long as it’s this easy to get good gear.

streamers for getting things dumbed down to where it is. Was definitely a lot more fun having a chance to win against someone 15-20 lvls higher. The higher lvl, if good, could still rolfstomp lowbies…but if they were your average streamer the superior lowbie player could win. Now even lowbie vs lowbie the GS difference, even just 10 lvls worth, makes the match up near impossible. People act like the stats/perks on the higher GS players is what makes them tough, but its just the GS vs GS number that really matters now. Granted some of these new sherking perks they have added can def heavily weigh on the match ups now.
It’s so easy to get close to BiS and easier than it should be to get BiS which is now available dirty cheap and you’re still complaining because you are spoiled with participation trophies. Participation trophies are for everyone except winners.
I would argue that winning due to GS/Gear ( “just wearing the team jersey” ) is the participation trophy recipient. Where as winning due to greater skill was the true MVP trophy earners.

What does war have to do with it? I never plan on being in the wars cause it’s not my twist, I prefer open world combat on the fly not a giant cluster F you can barely tell whats happening half the time, to each their own of course, but still if you want it to function like that during a war then more power to you, but warring has nothing to do with open world combat it’s a completely different animal.
I think people are mixing stuff,if you want a skill based game just play any moba where you start level 1 and each game restarts. This is a MMO where your gear has to make difference because ITS CALLED MMO. Which part of that hard to understand? MMO’s are about progressing your character with gears,builds to make that difference which requires effort,iq to do that.
If I wanted to play a skill based game I would just play any moba instead of crying in a damn mmo which is gear progressing game.
Only MMOs that are in maintenance mode don’t have any skill-based PvP venues. All of the successful popular MMOs. Have at least one venue for players to test their skill in standardized PvP. So I’m sorry but you are just mistaken that MMOs mean “only Gear matters PvP.” Only extremely niche MMOs go with such design flaws.

exactly. the desired perk combinations are difficult as hell to reach/obtain unless youre controlling a territory and making big bucks out of it, or spending your days in the game as if its your job and this situation does affect the outcome more than it should. Sure, they might not matter among casuals or semi-casuals, but it will matter against top tier players. Crafting has been awful for a long while and devs dont seem to care. i believe that a maxed crafter should be able to do whatever gear they want, granted that they have the materials, and some materials should be made more accessible as well.

If you lose to someone who has just entered the game and has no experience in it, you better retire and delete the game, it’s that simple.

Some sort of scaling needs to come back, and they need to add a PK status so punks who think they are good playing some meta can get crapped on like they should cause they ride the GS highway
and as much as I like it the roll has to go, it’s super exploited and too easy to do so.
Definitely agree that pvp should be skilled based and not gear dependent.
Maybe even have separate ques for those who just want to PVP on a fair playing field.
So after playing for awhile and working on some GS, I think I have figured out why some like it so much, it gives you epeen. Never have I ever seen so many players think they are good for bashing someone with a low GS. It’s actually kind of laughable. I wonder if one of their monitors is actually a mirror so they can flex each time they kill someone much lower GS than themselves ![]()
i think having perks in pvp shouldnt have happened in the first place. i know this is an mmorpg as well but personally i like people having 100% fair chance. maybe a “pvp only”(which wont work on dungeons or pve arenas) gear pattern in faction vendor where we can choose any perk we want and any stat we want. There is a reason pvp mmos arent a big thing but mobas and shooters/battle royales are, and that should be fixed someway in my opinion.
