It might be too late now and the player count would be the problem, but a matchmaking system would solve all the grief experienced in opr i believe.
Whether its by gear score or weapon class, being able to match players by their level would install a sense of fairness and I would bet rid the forum of a few nerf posts.
It takes 1 day to gey to 625 , u can buy shards and free gypsum everyday too . Youre lazy … also at 625 musket players get 2 shots by combos… so idk what u talking about
This game was originally based more on skill and NOT level/GS. But that was all changed due to whinny lil gits like this. Now its just another game of the skillless, basement dwellers.
You know that game is still alive and kicking right? Sites that track users say it has about 4k players still.
I played that game from opening day Oct 2001 till 2012. Infiltrator for 7 years and hunter for 5. I remember spending days farming for Regarding Shades 3 of 3 for the Shades of Mist cloak you had to have as a stealther. Lots of good memories
Skill highly matters in Guild Wars 2. Plus the population activity in both it’s PvP and Mist War modes are so high. That it makes New World’s PvP scene look like a carebear PvE MMO. Most will get more PvP in 3 hours of GW2 than they will in 2 weeks in New World. Mist War maps are so populated that some of them are queued. EVEN AT 3 A.M. IN THE MORNING!
Skill matters quite a bit in ESO. And those Devs made an official pledge at the beginning of last year. To make ESO less gear based, and more skill based.
Skill highly matter in Lost Ark ranked PvP arenas.
The difference between New World no-lifer and try hard cheater based PvP system. And the aforementioned skilled based MMOs. Is MMOs like New World have almost no player base playing them. And the skill based MMOs go on to have 6 to 7 digits of concurrent player base.
TL/DR - AGS have no inclination on delivering the skill based PvP. That they used to sell this game at the start. So if you want to play skill base PvP in a MMO package. Then you will have to PvP in an MMO that offers skill based PvP.
Casuals demands are ruining any game that listen to them.
I’m not against them, but no game should be spinning around them and their desires. Casuals should enjoy their time in game as long they wish, cuz sooner or later they will jump in some random new released game.
Balances and big changes should be made based on bigger players base opinion, not on forum whines.
About ESO, I’ve played it since beginning, PvP its a joke. Mages were destroying everything on their path back then. No idea how it is now, some ppl saying it got better some ppl saying it’s still bad.
Guild Wars 2 probably it’s one of the best PvP games and probably oldest true PvP game!
But I’m looking forward for 3 new games that should be released next year, probably.
PvP is more fun when it’s even. This cannot be argued against (unless you’re a sociopath who enjoys beating up kids).
Normalized gear just tries to make as many PvP encounters as even as possible. That is a good goal and trumps any “negatives” that go with it (and I know there are some perceived negatives for this genre).
There are no other arguments. Either you want to the game to be as enjoyable as possible or you don’t (or… You enjoy winning because you have bigger numbers in a database, which I suspect is the real reason people are against it but they rarely admit it).
Dude don’t come in here talking about DAoC. Yes skill mattered just like it does in NW. But the grind to get a good template in DAoC and to get at least to RR5 to be competitive was GRUELING. The PvE grind in DAoC makes NW look like a kids game.
Let’s not also forget that a 1v1 in DAoC was basically pre-loading your reactionary styles and seeing who got luckier with procs lol. Don’t get me wrong, I played DAoC for over 10 years and loved it… But if that’s your basis for saying NW isn’t skill based it falls flat on it’s face.
Feel like the ones that defend GS over skill are the same ones that whined at launch about getting owned by a lvl40 after they rushed to 60. Now look where NW is, on life support.
Man you have been repeating this nonsense for months now. Update this info or just stop repeating it, you seem like you haven’t touched the game for like half a year.
If “life support” looks like this im pretty ok with it. Regular monthly patches, dev vlogs etc. You better hop on another hype train game before you waste too much time on NW
I think you think I just mean the expertise grind. I do not. I am talking about the whole grind. From 500 GS to competitive PvP gear status. To include the amount of grind to acquire the gold. In order to either roll or buy the gear. Needed to be competitive in PvP.
There are people on these forums who claim to have over 1800 hours and only a few pieces of BiS gear. Now think about that for a few moments.
There are PLENTY of returning player help videos on youtube that are very much up to date. And theres also plenty of other people who are also trying to get their gear score up with dungeons. Stop acting like everyone is 625gs and fully maxed
It’s not going to change. The whole point of PvP in this game is to make tons of gold by owning a territory. Making tons of gold isn’t worth anything if here isn’t a huge cost to getting good stuff.
I’m well aware at this point nothing is going to change. AGS is catering to the no-lifers and try hard cheaters. This has been the case since the November patch update.
Instead of punishing the cheaters. AGS just make it harder for legitimate players to compete. By nerfing progression again and again. Pushing more and more people to the 3rd party RMT services.
