Were just about any of my comments about it’s damage? Its heavy has a much longer lunge than GA. GA has no lunge on light, Rapier lights still move you forward.
Spr/Rapier is very strong in war for quick take downs, GA/WH could never produce. My last war I followed a SPR/Rapier guy known on our server, all I did was provide him some CC and maybe one or two wacks on targets but he basically melted them.
I’m 300/200 with bis/near bis gear, even on squish targets I took out alongside him, it wasn’t nearly as fast, which I get as GA is a cleave/group initiate weapon.
Again none of my suggestions on rapier balance removes anything other than Riposte being able to stun more than whats in front. Most of my suggestions are moderation on its kit to not make it a get out of jail free card.
If you think GA is in an acceptable place, you obviously don’t play it.
Never have I ever seen a thread of this size get ignored this much, at least a community manager can reply to tell us the feedback has been forwarded, the devs should read the forums themselves btw.

Yes the blade does a lot of damage true, yes its zone (oblivion) is to avoid but the stun kiss is garbage no?
I mean I can dodge it 80% of the time or even more, and you can stay out of the zone and if you are a cac go into another opponent?
PVP is not trying to snowball a target but a team, same example for the hachet, guy is under berserk and ultimate passive still up? I just kite and avoid him and go into another guy.
I really do not want to be mean but most of the time people do not dodge and have very poor positioning resulting in the believe this void kiss is OP.
Come on a dude with a void guntlet coming in melee you know what he will do to you right?
You can also do loopy loops around a vg player using void blade and they can’t really do anything lol.The lunge will pull them to where u were making them miss.
Despite what people say on the forums petrifying scream does have a .5 animation where they put their right foot forward.
I’m not sure if rapier needs a nerf but I do agree some good dex players are impossible to catch. There are a few people on kshira that when we see them in OPR we ignore them cause they can’t be caught unless you have 4+ people coordinating CC. Pretty insane.
Now as far as the VG, the complaints there have to be the most overblown thing I have seen in NW to date. I tried an IG/VG build for a few weeks and yes you can destroy someone in a 1v1 only IF they’re silly enough to stand in oblivion. If they kite at all then the strength of the void blade disappears.
The scream is instant sure but it has like no range at all. I honestly don’t get it. I mostly play IG/FS now and I don’t have trouble against VG users. I would say I get killed the most by GA/WH or Musket/Rapier. in terms of 1v1.
The VG is pretty unbalanced in war. You get 10+ VG users to cover the point in oblivion, which removes sacred ground and does DoT, and then they scream everyone.
People saying it’s easy to avoid / dodge don’t realize their is 15-20 VG + in war and combined with IG shower or wall you can’t dodge them all and just get zoned out of their 15 orbs ? VG needs to get nerfed there is no doubt about it. Increase Rapier CD and take stam out. Anyone who play vs 5 premade in opr who plays mostly IG/VG know it’s impossible to dodge them all they will catch you and melt you
You’re right the weapon is too OP as it is, it was suppose to be a high skill ceiling weapon. Not a “spam to survive” weapon that every newbie uses very effectively.
I suggest the riposte duration is decrease from 1 sec to 0.6 sec , and hitting riposte decreases this ability cooldown (rewarding good players). Also on top of this increase riposte cooldown from 12 to 16 secs.
Due to the medium armor + evade being OP, i also agree removing the stamina reward is reasonable to balance this overall, i supose increasing the damage somehow to make up for the stamina nerf would be also ok.
Cancel animation is coming … no nerf at all should be done before, everything will change and will require a way better real fight analysis.
Regarding war, well yes it can be an issue but everything has a counter anyway and unfortunately, I might be hate for this, but war does not concern a lot of people, sadly…
Balancing weapon for 20vs20, 40vs40, 1v1 is basically impossible right, the situations are completely different? I mean there is no solution.
Rapier is fine as is, if you are left click spamming you deserve to be riposte’d.
It can be iframed/dodged if you are doing jabs 1-left click followed by a dodge or you can bait the player to use riposte. The rapier isn’t designed for a player to be stationary and trade blows with other melee weapons.
I well placed scream from a VG usually results in a dead rapier player since mobility is literally shutdown.
A rapier player in light would be hard to catch due to the ability to be able to roll and gain distance, but in medium they have a higher chance to be caught. If you are melee and chasing a rapier player in light armour i’m sorry but you’re being kited and a fool if you die. Usally the answer to this is a hit scan weapon such as a musket.
As for the VG its meant to be a support weapon and shouldn’t be doing that much damage, but if you are silly enough to sit in its circle and think you can trade blows with the blade then your chances of winning is slim. The VG will need to re-tuned appropriately either removing the amount of rend it generates or reducing its healing ability.
As of this patch riposte and flenche doesn’t seem to execute when recieving multiple blows from various directions, were hitting either of these abilities has put it on CD and nothing happens.

Early on musket users were making noises about adding block or bayonets to make it more melee friendly. Yet that’s a large part of the reason for having a second weapon.
It doesn’t seem to be a conscious bias for most. Yet largely every group believes one set of armor, one set of attributes, one set of weapon skills should be able to survive just about anything. That’s never been true in any mmo in recent memory.

A rapier player should never use riposte against a VG user until they are rooted. If they do, they deserve to die for making such a huge error. Rapier has a counter for literally everything, it’s what makes it such a powerful weapon, you dont need to spec into proper attributes or anything to make it work, you can pair it with literally anything because of how powerful the CD’s are.
Yes thats in some circumstances, in OPR and Wars a VG player could come from any direction. Decent or co-ordinated players will know not to spam left click once a rapier player is rooted because their instant reaction would be to reposte while in root, also if a rapier player is aware of his surroundings they will be able to riposte the scream instead to avoid the root.
Riposte requires a second condition to activate along with prediction on what the opponent is going to do next, its not hard just don’t spam left click. To many times when i see someone just left clicking, I also give them time to see me swapping to the rapier but still continues to left click hoping that they get a magical big crit to kill me.
If riposte doesn’t get triggered they are pretty much dead because stuns such as hammers can interupt fleach and evade is a short iframe which requires you to hit something in order to reduce its CD and when you have GA/WHs in your face i don’t think they would want to trade blows with them if they wanted to in order to have evade off CD.
It is a powerful ability but it requires prediction and timing to use and can be used offensively or defensively, compared to other weapons one cannot just pick up a rapier and be good at it over night you need to practice with it and learn it.
Hey I don’t think you know that but riposte get triggered by ranged attacks as well, I can stop attacking the player but what can I do about a stray ranged attack, why should I get stunned for a ranged player attacking a rapier user.
The CD needs to be longer on the full grace tree of Rapier.
The VG needs overall nerf in terms of damage and cc.
