Time to nerf Rapier and Void gauntlet

Hey bud, tell to me how we light armor do counter attack GA/WH players? You think i gonna drop a obvious trap on your feet or shooter’s stance to be a tower waiting for my death?

Look in other way man, Riposte and fleche have 10+ sec of CD and with good timing you can dodge riposte or fake attack for him waste a riposte. Do you know the heavy attack of GA/WH is too slow that riposte ends before you hit? Think more, Fleche does not have grit and you can push someone is trying to run away.

Rapier is a necessary weapon to light armor defend themselves. Literally you have many ways to build a mechanic and play better, but you think it’s more easy to nerf your enemy to have a chance. And yes, it’s possible to play against, because i have a friend does play as a tank and we train everyday to learn our builds and mechanics and play better and better.

Just take easy with my reply, don’t want to be toxic

Edit.: I think most of GA players are a lot predictable. You just spam habilites and left/left click, this is very easy to riposte because we know you always don’t remind who you fight or what they can do.

I dislike nerfing anything unless it really is way too unbalanced. So, yes, please make the rapier, not know that much about VG, less powerful…somehow. There is a reason SOOOOO many players have switched to rapier and that is because this weapon totally owns pvp! It is just good but is god-like!

25s cd Void Blade. Can u just kite him like others melee weapons? No? Git gud than.
Best CC - 1 skill that root u for 2s - wow, traps / gw / etc doing the same…

void gaunt / ice gauntlet / rapier

the three most overpowered weapons in the game currently

void gauntlet provides the highest single target dps in the game with void blade while also providing 700 / second healing. combine that with the instant cast root that debuffs you to hell and bugs out your character? absolute insanity.

the ice gauntlet currently has the best cc in the game hands down, if you eat a single touch of the ice gauntlet you are slowed. if you eat an ability you are stunned / rooted / slowed. if the ice gauntlet player knows what hes doing he cant root you, then stun you, and on top of all that your are slowed AND CANT DODGE! providing near 8 seconds of total lockdown. not that you’ll live to see the 8 seconds thanks to icespike currently doing way to much damage, and the ranged heavy attacks hitting upwards of 3k.

if you combine these two weapons you now have a ticket for complete god mode, all the while tilting your enemy. the only counter to it is being a ranged player. if youre melee you literally cant do anything, you just locked in place until you die. it doesnt provide fun gameplay, there’s no counter game play. its literally just root / stun / stagger / cant dodge, dead. theres nothing fun about playing against it.

the rapier is a tad overtuned, but nowhere even remotely close to VG / IG. with rapier you are given a chance to dodge the riposte, or not attack the riposte, youre able to dodge after the stun, youre not slowed, and you have control of your character which makes the fight fun.
currently the rapier can go toe to toe with all other melee weapons except void blade and out dps them by a large margin, tie that in with bleeds, 6 second riposte cool downs, animation canceling, and an escape that can move through enemies and does damage. its over tuned.

i find most rapier players predictable as well it just that amount of movement and the shit state of lung that stops me from killing them for turning around throwing out riposte which i think should have a longer end lag as they just roll away right after with no punishment for just throwing it out there.

Best damage in the game? Ok I hit for around 1k or less. What does the axe hit? My life staff hits for more

I think melee players have to face the fact that people who play rapier don’t like to stand and fight, every rapier player I’ve fought always runs away and widdles me down so when I see them I don’t even bother chasing.

IMO any form of dash ability should have a rly long cool down, chasing people isn’t fun, PvP overall is still very bland for me in general

You know what makes the game fun, the fact each weapon is different and has it’s own unique flair. Rapier is supposed to be quick, agile, fluid. Rapier also takes skill. We can’t just left click and expect to kill someone. Rapier has ZERO distance and if you’re in light armor, spamming left click, you’re basically not moving lol. I think the cooldowns match the playstyle of the weapon just fine. A lot of players use rapier for a mobility weapon most of the time rather than a dps weapon. When paired with a really good dps weapon it does make a nasty combo. But it also comes down to skill on both sides. If you play rapier and fight another player with a rapier you know what to look for and it’s a lot easier to win that fight. Learning weapon skills, cooldowns and watching your apponents stamina bar all help make the player a better player. Can’t catch a rapier user? Catch em on their last dodge. Ice storm, gravity well, scream, throw your spear. There is a learning curve and you can tell who is one with their weapon, played countless hours and knows their sh#t.

Who said anything about not catching them lol, it’s a long chase that isn’t worth the time and isn’t enjoyable. Might be fun for the rapier player to get away but for melee to keep going after them it’s boring af. I don’t think running away is skill since ur spamming dashes and using cc to get away.

Open world PvP favors range and people who like to run, and with how things are there isn’t anything a melee person can do besides play catch up and hopefully kill them when u grab them or you gotta deal with chasing them for another 5 mins. Poorly designed PvP system favoring those who like to run

I don’t think that the voidgauntlet in himself is too strong, the perks you can add to it are.
They all are very strong : reduce healing on the scream, delete buff on the aoe, insane heal on the voidblade … when you add all of this is too much (and I am a vg user).

Funny we had a ton of people using VG on my server for like 2 days. Most of them were terrible. Now they are all back to Gaxe/WH. It was pretty funny watching 5 people all miss screams at the same time but now its back to hammer stun spam. Bad players crash and burn with VG. A lot of people are using Rapier offhand to run away on my server though, it’s a little annoying but I don’t find Rapier to be a big deal, if they run away from the point that’s fine with me.

Agree no Nerf just for balance in pvp&wars like GH but is true at time is meta

I reverted to musket/rapier the past few days (retired from life staff/VG as it’s too trendy), but decided to run tondo, flourish and finish with evade in OPR, just to make it interesting. I don’t usually run from fights unless it’s to get to a control point or baroness - I will say tondo is not good for 1v1, lol. But for fort doorways and pushing in, it can lay a good groundwork for flourish and finish. I really think tondo could use some sort of health generation perks, as the armor perks for tondo/FnF are D tier.

How is an int weapon with 50% DR 50% Heal reduce 30% armor shred and a million buffs and debuffs + an scream that staggers + roots you any kinda OKAY …

The Rend buff stacks with any other rend means you can forget armor entirely. the heal debuff stacks and you can get up to 78% of reduction …

The blade does mroe dmg in melee comabt than any other melee weapon without any big risk of dying jsut by pressing leftclick and maybe scream once in a while.

it needs a total rebalance or be removed from the game for a few month and brought back with a new moveset. casue this isnt even fair to any of the melee players anymore.

Tl:DR VG is nowere near balanced and needs a gigantic nerf.

you forgot that everything it does stacks.

the rend stacks. the heal reduce stacks. The DR buffs stack.

that weapon is meant to support not main dps.
