the patch is good. ill give them that. too bad they missed the most critical problem. nerfing rapier. it absolutely needs to happen.
I really like the song feature and the Summer Festival. The game needs all kinds of content. The music one is fun, now the game is full once again.
its interesting. little annoying when people play music in the middle of town and it jumps back and forth between town music but that’s just my own personal issue with it. mostly because of the pop ups and “GREAT” 4 stars that keeps popping up while im doing stuff.
but the concept of music profession is fantastic.
it just needs an expansion into useful pve and pvp stuff at some point.
OP
Your problem is you think the development team is a linear crew. Sorry but there are sub teams that deal with various task within their category. AKA the team can multitask.
Also assuming they are not working on what you prioritize is just your tinfoil hat getting tighter (your privilege was hurt). Refer to my previous comment about the team being non-linear, yet your thinking is linear.
Please, think on a broader spectrum. Your words scream sheep/copy pasta via clickbait. Also, spam since we have heard this many times weekly.
I would also have accepted the answer ‘because fun elements attract casual players who create a firm foundation of population for a game and who will help bolster the content more dedicated players play,’ but just lasering the guy from orbit is also an acceptable answer.
The music stuff does nothing for me personally, but I see a lot of people having a blast with it, so I’m really glad it exists.
The timing is questionable though; introducing new things when existing things are still broken is a bad look and perception is everything.
Personally I think AGS should have let the internal teams continue working on the new features in parallel, but then parked them until they had the process of merging and regression testing new features into the existing code base absolutely nailed right down. Seeing new bugs appear and old bugs reappear has taken some of the shine off what should have been be a showcase event. But I get it, its a summer event - gotta push it out while its still summer…
Delaying the new dungeon and group finder is a brave move, but its still reactionary and the less philosophical members of this colorful community may well interpret that as bait and switch and express their displeasure accordingly.
As a casual player, I would say that Music is a interesting skill. However, after some hours of leveling, the reward (buffs) are horrible. The carry buff of 100 is too low, the yield for gathering and luck for gathering does not call anyone attention. Indeed, I will came back to ESO until NW would be better.
Let’s be honest here, any tab target combat system is outdated and will lose in any comparison with action combat system Mmos like NW or BDO. We can talk about unbalance, desync, etc but the combat system itself is years light ahead of most other MMOs.
id argue its not considering how wow and ff14 is still going strong.
its strength though is in pve.
not pvp.
Its funny how many uninformed comments are constantly on these forums after a patch.
Fair enough. Noted. ![]()
So true. More less it is more about their own campaign to make sure they get what they want or doom say the game when they don’t get it. Always bias and rarely any facts with these genetic trolls and their linear thinking.
Much like the OP.
The game is B2P. A money grab if you prefer 900.000 on peak day for 40$ a copy do the math. and that is just on steam and not the in game shop. They don’t really want to fix anything else.
Those games are strong cause all the content they had added after many years. Same as ESO, which is the best of all MMO’s actually IMO, with its main fault being its clunky combat where you have to click and do light attack every time you use a skill if you wanna be somewhat competent.
New World lacks content in all areas (quests, zones, dungeons, raids, lore, etc) but they also have a great base from where to expand and add all those lacking things. Graphics, animations, models, world design, sound , combat system (outside balance which will always be a ongoing thing), all this is pretty decent and actually TOP in MMOs, It just needs time.
its been a while how is bdo, gw2, eso and the likes doing on the mmo chart?
not be facetious, i mean what is the reality of the situation for mmoarpgs in terms of actual mmorpgs?
Another bias troll.
Anymore lies, little one?
To be fair most stopped playing when the group finder and expedition got delayed last minute. Sure some socials got hooked but not the meat of the playerbase. Considering stupidly large music circles are its impossible for a meninful percentage of players to play near pois.
Thats the mark. It needs to provide combat buffs for pvp and pve.
Yes dev is non llinear but music should of never been anwhere on a list to make its way to a teM since launch. Every point that choice came up some one should of had that team on a different task.
Im shocked it works as well as it does. I partially believe it is causing some of the performance issues but beside that this team would of been great on essentially any other project
It was promoted as 1000 up until launch…
We can agree to disagree. Both are different and apeal to different types of gamers.
Bias Troll? Name one thing NW does best than any other mmo. 1 thing besides bugs
- Gates content.
I enjoy your type. SO much hate and failure.

Sounds… Any articles you read, they all praise the sounds. Pick axe, the echoes, sounds of combat in the distance, reaching terminal velocity in a fall and hearing the wind increase with speed, and many more examples of why they are praised for sound immersion. Even the creeper breathing in full helm was quite interesting and immersive LOL
-
Environments… another praise from many articles is about the environments. Woods feel like the woods. The chaotic clutter of nature is well represented in this game.
-
True non-linear character progression. Anything you do is going to grant you skill xp or character XP. Even trade skills lvl bumps can grant considerable character XP.
-
Immersion, it is easy to get lost when you were focused on an objective. Many things in the game easily distract you from the primary objective and you enjoy when you do get lost.

The development team is moving forward. The good thing about that is the pace. First few years of any new franchise MMORPG is very rocky. Anyone who has been gaming online since BBS and dial-up days knows this. The pace of updates and content has been above par compared to any other new MMORPG franchise’s first years.

They have been transparent about the game. If you look at the main page’s news history, nothing ever was a scam or advertised as anything else than what they were giving you. Starting with the 180 from Alpha 1 on through the present. You knew what content you were getting. You even had several CC posting the progress and what was and was not. Let’s not forget the many invites between phases. I started playing when the Destiny stress test invite occured. Your failure to gather public info is not the developer’s fault. Even the “leak” of P2W mtx was openly discussed. Where are those doomsayers that said we would have P2W by then first quarter of 2022?
So yes, bias trolls.
Cheers
