To all RTA Server Players Complaining About Being Mislead

Hard disagree, nobody knew what they were signing up for with this event. Nobody knew what the next set of challenges would be past the first. Answers about what would happen after the event were purposefully left ambiguous.

As a participator, I expected AGS to respect the time I put in to promote their game and earn drops for everyone by allowing me to join my friends on other FSS by the end of the event.
And I don’t think it’s wrong to assume this. The RTA servers are filled with a ragtag bunch of gamers from wildly different time zones. Upgrading stations as a challenge depleted everyone’s gold. These servers are destined to fail after the event why would anyone want to stay?

This absolutely.

I mean…those of us that paid attention, knew exactly what the RtA servers are/was. They have always been at the heart a gated FSS that we knew would eventually be opened to the public. To those that are crying…

C’mon y’all. Just stop, if you didn’t understand…that’s ON YOU!

wrong. most people knew EXACTLY what we were signing up for.

If you didn’t it was because you didn’t pay attention to the instructions that ALL people had access to via their captains/co-captains/community leaders.

Tf are you talking about? I got my RTA code from Zickah who gave them away by playing Marbles on stream. Does that sound like a reliable source of information to you?

Asmongold and Xaryu had no idea wtf the event was about either.

I think you overestimate how much duping was done, and that it still effects the economies of legacy servers. With M10s being run constantly and people getting near BiS gear frequently as drops! money is fairly easy to be made. 1 reg genesis run will net you about 1500 gold just from mob kills alone, players can easily grind this and amass 10k gold of of just mob kills in 1 day. Now think if a few of those players buy items from 1 guy, lets say an essential item like Regen potions. The crafter of the regen potions now has 100k gold just from grinding some resources. Now after a few days he takes 200k and buys serveral items off the AH, Now 4 people have 50k gold. This repeats for months until a large potion of the playerbase has at least reached 50k gold at some time or another.

Of course this means good gear is going to inflate in price, Demand drives prices up.

Gold being duped has very little influence on these factors.

No one is preventing them from playing on the RTA servers, their work is safe. The issue is the vast majority of people that went on RTA were there just to “hang out” with their favorite streamers, this was a natural progression and one that could be seen a mile away

Yeah but what possible reason is there for not allowing RTA players to transfer to other Fresh Starts Now and just closing the RTA servers? Like, what would it harm? Just makes no sense to leave them stranded.

So what i’m hearing here is, no one told me so…the information didn’t exist

It’s simple…

NO TRANSFERS OF EXISTING CHARACTERS INTO FRESH START SERVERS - this is the hard and fast rule

For ANY Fresh Start world you can ONLY TRANSFER OUT

So when people ask to Transfer from RTA to another Fresh Start they are basically asking for the first rule to be broken.

So no…

EDIT: AGS has said that RTA are Fresh Start Servers now, so it might be that they allow people from RTA or other Fresh Start Servers to transfer in at a later date** (not confirmed, but it looks like they are backtracking a bit and might allow it)

I don’t see how any of what you posted is “unclear.”

Fresh Start servers are fresh start servers. That includes the RTA servers. You cannot transfer off of them at this time. When you can, it will ONLY be to legacy servers. They are likely not to allow FSS-FSS transfers because, at some point, they will merge FSS servers. AFTER that, they may allow transfers between FSS servers, but I cannot imagine why. This was made clear from Day 1 - that any character you made as a result of a streamer invite could continue on this server, but not necessarily go anywhere else for a long time unless merges happen. How is any of that unclear?

I am amazed you can thank them on the one hand, and cover them with shit with the other. Without the people who played on RTA no one would have gotten any of the drops. Now no one gives a fuck about them and wants them to get fucked by not merging those servers? Why?

What am I not understanding about this? Why is it so controversial to just merge the RTA servers with other fresh starts?

It’s not, most of the time it’s just one guy who thinks they’re tainted.

I don’t even think AGS has an ideological problem merging them, they are just incompetent when it comes to scheduling server merges, and have been since launch. Servers will peak at barely a few hundred players for over a month before they take action. I mean why merge servers before people get frustrated and quit? How is that going to help tank the game’s population?

This post is kinda as if you’re make one and say
“Glad legacy servers are dying, they never said they will merge any of them so stop crying and accept the slow decline”.

It’s just bait to rub it in.
No matter if the information was available or not. At the moment the situation on those servers isn’t great, which should be enough to take action or at least communicate about potential plans.
Just cause you say something doesn’t mean it can’t be changed when things go south.
People on this forum just hate streamers and anything related that gives this game any positive publicity. It’s pretty much the most ungrateful and toxic community in any mmorpg.

AGS is caught in the catch-22 of previously stating in October, as mentioned above, no transfers onto FSS’s. Until they change that wording/stance, they can’t address the RTA people that are playing.

To me, it seems like most RTA players were “misled” about how RTA would work or didn’t bother to research the publicly available information, prior to rolling an RTA character and then performing a public service of enabling drops for the masses. Or at least that’s how most of these threads read. Why this opt-in public service they performed entitles them to special treatment, with regards to RTA-FSS transfers to FSS, is not exactly clear to me.

Should AGS quickly address the dead RTA serve issues, by either enabling transfers or unlocking the RTA servers? Yes. Do RTA players deserve special treatment? No.

Yea I kinda agree. It doesn’t even have to be special treatment.
They could merge lowest fss serv with an RTA one for example. And even then those numbers still wouldn’t hit even close to 2k total on peaktimes. At least you’d reach 300players during nonpeaktimes like this lol

But then you obviously have the chance to upset another group of people, those who like empty servers and farm. Those who invested into towns and upkeep. Those who might lose their territory. Those who hate that pvp could now be a thing in their pve world.

There’s solutions, but communication is key. At least give players something to look forward to.
Or just say how it is. “Rta is over and we won’t merge or allow any transfers between them whatsoever, so just move on”. Just have the decency to at least communicate

100% agree, we need AGS to respond to give clarity in this situation. Sadly, this has historically never been one of their strong points.

Well I wouldn’t call providing a basic community to play the game with “charity”, but rather a responsibility of their part if they want to actually retain players.
It doesn’t matter in the end if it’s the players fault. What matters is if people keep quitting for, in my opinion, very preventable reasons.

AGS didn’t learn this lesson last year, when legacy died down from 410k avg to just 13k avg players. I don’t have much hope now either for those that did RTA.
