I feel the breath of fresh air every time I have to browse through hundreds of armor pieces until I found my Skinning Set and my god what a breath of fresh air to not have an easily accessible filter for attributes on the trading post for once.
You know sometimes itâs just better to not try to reinvent the wheel and instead improve on systems that worked in other games. Riot Games literally built their entire portfolio on that premise and it just works. New World on the other hand always tries to put a spin on things and massively failed doing that. Iâm not saying I dislike innovation, but when you donât have the collective experience in your team, better stick with what works.

Here is what I learned a long time ago. Gamers gather in little groups (web forums, sub reddits, ect).
Each group will talk about how awesome the game they currently play is and if someone dares to attack the groups chosen favorite game the group goes ape shit.
On the MMORPG subreddit if you look up New World you will find this discussion from 2 months ago about why New World failed.
It seems NW is not popular there.
I am personally a fan of Classic Burning Crusade WOW.
I bet a lot of NW players hate WOW.
The fans of Ashes of Creation think it will be the best MMO ever. Some even paid 500 bux.
A lot of other people call it a scam. Same with Star Citizen.
The thing about MMO games is everyone thinks the one they play is best and every other is trash.
But no MMO ever lives up to the hype.
Personally I think NW will keep loosing players unless major changes are made. I hope version 2 is quite different.

Well once some mmos launch end of year, if NW go for less then 5k avarage it is pretty much dead, you copium users liking or not.
So better just enjoy while can.
thats what i am doing at least, since no other game on atm makes me want to play.
im just glad i did not waste timing doing crafting, most my crating are 0, doing only dgs and making ward and bane sets since they are pretty much cheap since ppl just like pvpvpvppvpvvpp while im just pvepvepvepve and wasting like 10k per set or dropping ofc.
all my corrupt set is full refresh evasion, luck and ward BiS for a pve guy like me finishing lost set for the next expedition, and soon starting the beast ward set hihi

there are some, but the most 2 i am interested is throne and liberty and nightingale which is a survival now it seems, dunno yet what they want to do with the game lol
You just need to get organized with shared storages. If it takes you that long to find armor these days, thatâs on you.
Yeah, see i use each terry storage for a set/mix i have mining gear, and sets for each different build i run. I have a town for junk/sales and one for high end items to keep them separated.
Fact is, itâs not labeled as such, and itâs unconventional but it works for me. The previous unconnected storage was terrible to interact with, this shared storage essentially acts as drawers and gives one giant storage you can access from any town.
Iâd maybe ask for being able to label them a little bit better, but it works like it is.
OR bags that we can label, and put sets of gear/items in would be nice. Drag and drop!

You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.
That Is how feedback should be directed. Donât criticize - propose something better.
Your thesis is flawed. Empirically, almost everyone thinks this game is shit and all the successful MMORPGs are quite good. So the proper question to ask of New World is: what draws and hooks is it missing that all these other games seem to have figured out?

Agreed but to be fair, none of those other mmos they mentioned are either. You cannot go to the cash shop and buy the BiS gear with real money. Buying runs is NOT p2w because people still need to play the game and with RNG they may not even get what they want. I mean, if you call that p2w then NW most definitely is p2w also because people buy gold and pay for 6k shard runs. But my definition of p2w is buying BiS or better items on a cash shop with real money doing no work at all. Example Diablo 2 R. You can use d2jsp and buy any item you want for real money.

That was my first thought. Absolutely crazy, another proponent of New World unable to establish their point without bringing someone else down. Itâs hilarious, because theyâll do it so unironically and act like theyâre so justified.

This post itself demonstrates one of the many issues that have led people to dislike NW - amazonâs moderation problems. The OP violates amazonâs guidelines b/c of the tone of the post and the expletives and maybe other reasons. Yet the post has apparently been flagged, reviewed, and remains unchanged. Poor and inconsistent moderation from a company that should be outstanding in the customer service area is reason #9999 that i quit.

If you believe that, then you are delusional.
If you can pay to obtain something that other players have to work harder for, then you are paying to win, because winning in games is progress. You are getting an advantage, like duping or hacking.
The original definition of P2W was buying items in the cash shop that you couldnât farm for free. But thatâs been outdated for like 10 years. Microtransactions have evolved to exploit the human mind in every possible psychological way.
You can argue that if it doesnât affect you, then itâs not pay to winâfor you, and for you only. These discussions happened a lot in Black Desert forums. People there actually say bdo isnât pay to win.
I asked some of the biggest defenders of this predatory monetizations and they told me all they do is Life-skill all day long and never PvP or have friends or guild that compete in any way. Thatâs why the game isnât p2w for them. But, they are NOT the majority of the game. Just because the game isnât p2w for YOU, doesnât mean it;s not objectively.
You just described a literal LOOTBOX with extra steps. Congratulations, you fell for the psychological manipulation of predatory monetizations. Deny it all you want. They got you good! Even Diablo immoral is doing this with Crests.
RMT transactions are another p2w form, just not legal like a cash shop. Like, a buddy of mines spends 400$ a month paying some Pinoy guy to farm him wealth I could only dream of, and many argue that is not pay to win. Despite the fact that he wins more fights, literally because of RMT.
