To PVEers: Is NW the game for us? Should we leave? Lets talk!

I donno, man, I just try to push conversations and shitpost when the shitposts fly. All I’ve ever seen you do is put people down, lunge down their throats and do this-- judge people from an invisible podium in lieu of actually discussing the game instead of other people. ‘ryan.kaj.larsen’ posts are usually a good sign the thread has devolved well past flaming into just raw ‘people being mad on the internet.’ It’s not fun anymore, I’m just… kinda concerned for your blood pressure.

It’s wild. I’d almost believe, almost, that the real conspiracy isn’t Tencent flaming the game, but sending in people who appear to defend it but tell everyone to quit and fuck off.

I think he was wanting a conversation about whether this game is good for pve focused players. That’s okay isn’t it?

There’s a couple people in the thread getting really butthurt and throwing hissy fits. Nobody attacked you guys. Calm down.

I am a pve mmo player as well and honestly, I didn’t think New World would keep my interest before even hitting max level since the game is a pvp and crafting focused mmo with some pve. But, I made it to 60 and working on my watermark (expertise) etc. I love the world, music, sounds, ambiance, lightning etc. The expeditions (dungeons) are okay. Leveling is a huge grind and the quests are extremely repetitive and boring though.

But, the end game is very lacking for pve. Your end game is basically grind grind grind for your professions/crafting skills and either pvp or just run do pve chest runs till your eyes bleed. There are a couple of end game Expeditions but nothing like raids in other mmos.

If you are casual then be prepared for it to take awhile to hit 60 and your other grinds which will take forever.

There is no LFD and the end game dungeons you have to pay for a spot or craft your own which you first off have to have that crafting profession leveled up enough to make one and then you need to either buy or farm the mats. These Expeditions all require tuning orbs so you need 1 person to have one in your group. They aren’t like all other mmos where you can just run dungeons without someone needing a “key” to get inside.

In conclusion as a pve’er, this game might not be for you especially if you are looking for all the other pve things you can do in all the other mmos. If you already bought the game then I wouldn’t say you need to leave since you can play whenever you want but I would assume you would have been playing the game so you can draw your own conclusions.

Like I said though, this wasn’t an mmo I thought I would be around that long and I am still liking the game because I still have a lot to do in the sense of grinding all my professions/crafting skills and getting 600 Expertise for gear. It isn’t fun but I don’t play tons of hours either and once my main mmo launches their new patch, I probably won’t be playing this much until I get to that point in my other mmo where I have everything done and just doing raiding with my guild.

It seems the biggest issues are with the time gates that are popping up all over, and I think there are a few ways to gracefully handle that but they’re probably going to be sic’d on the bots and bugs first so we’ll have to see where they land after that.

So you don’t actually read everything I say here, because if you had, you’d know I’ve NEVER defended the game. I’ve NEVER accepted the bots or the desyncs. I’ve never thought Light vs Heavy armor arguments were valid.

More than anything I hate certain parts of this community that have offered ZERO contributions and constantly complain… like yourself. You only hate the tax system because it currently doesn’t benefit you. You hate the orb system because you haven’t figured out how to make it easier. You hate watermarks because you haven’t tried to make it easy for yourself.

Your arguments are disingenuous at best. Lazy at worst. This game is easy to get rich. It’s easy to get great gear. It’s easy to experience all the content it has to offer.

You’re mad because to YOU it’s hard and you want to change it. Changing it will break it. But you don’t care if it breaks, just so long as it’s EASIER. And then once it breaks, you’ll complain about it being broken.

Fk no new world PvE is dog shit(end game) and they keep breaking the pvp shit is unbalanced and desync out the wazoo. I knew the pvp was never gonna be fixed so I always hoped they would shift focus towards PvE hardcore.

You’re definitely overreacting here, the op is just wanting to have an open conversation here.

Time gates are annoying, but they have gone all in on it. At least for now. Trying to extend the current content as much as possible I guess.

I just wish killing monsters in this game was more rewarding. I like the combat in new world and have a good time. Well, Other than mobs pushing the tanks around so easily. Would be nice if mobs dropped more loot and you could get worthwhile gear if you work at it enough.

Idk why orbs need to be crafted in the first place the Dungeon drops are legit garbage(dungeon loot worse than MMOs with no orbs and higher limits/week) and only gold buyers/dupers pay to run them 24/7.

I think the issue with NW isn’t even mostly PVP vs PVE its more casual vs no-life. I feel like NW demands me to play all day every day to achieve literally anything in game, which is just not sustainable.

If u are a 100% pve’er, there is most likely more joy to be found in other games on the market, in this genre.

What is a wonder to me tho, is starting to play a game, knowing it has a pvp focus (maybe even more so than pve, for endgame starters) and 100% not wanting to participate in anything that has to do with the pvp part in it - why then go for this game? You will surely not be satisfied, excluding yourself(on horehand) from a lot of the games content and features.

I played wow for years, moba games, fps and rpg’s - never did much pvp in wow, but really embrasing and loving it in this game (also enjoy the pve, just not mut challenging content to so on that account, hope mutations adds flavour to that )

And yes, plz remove the stupid orb costs  (tho think that’s also the plan for the future)

Agree. I’m not in favor of the orb either, they should let us do the dungeons and thats it. The rewards must be useful and scaled according to the difficulty of the dungeons.

To make people play dungeons more often, they could put some different set models (cosmetics? alternative bonus?) with different drop probabilities. This way, players would get power items more easily and would only look for the grind if they wanted a specific set model.

I dont know, almost anything can be made to shake the endgame content.

This would feel less specifically identifiable if they stopped implementing changes that insulate people who rushed content early (despite AGS mentioning their chagrin toward that), while making it harder for others to get there (who presumably already approach at a fairly casual pace).

I think PVP tiers would help a lot for this game, but that suggestion has been balked at pretty hard before on here so maybe not.

The foundation for a great game is there; only time will tell if it can scratch the dungeon crawlers itch

Who TF is “crying”? this is a discussion for PVE players. Get TF out of my thread, your obviously one of those toxic PVPers that I specifically told to MYOB (Mind Your Own Business) at the beginning. What will eventually be “fixed”? A game that wasn’t supposed to be about PVE gameplay? No need to “open” the door, you have absolutely no power to. If we leave we will leave on our terms and you can go back to empty servers and PVP all you want. Please have a seat and just eat your food. You have nothing to contribute here.

haha!

Your thread? Do you know what a Forum is? LOL

Im a toxic PvP’er?

Okaaaay. :+1: :joy:

As a PVE focused player, I uninstalled the game today. Waiting for immersive, consistent and fair content for us as RPs, PVErs, Solo, Loreseekers, and Crafters

I’ll back in September to check it again. For now, thinking to go to ESO, but still waiting for Lost Ark and Elder Ring.

As I mentioned above, literally everyone in this game is a PVE’er. Sorry but you don’t own that title, we all PVE. You just choose to ignore a significant part of the game while the rest of us play and enjoy everything. So yea, you invited everyone to this conversation.

Also, if you’re going to call someone toxic you should probably try not to sound toxic yourself.

This is part of the problem… if you leave, thats YOU.

You dont speak on the behalf of anyone else… get that straight real quick.

Then we have the issue that you think PvP’ers ONLY PvP… we also PvE, Glad you could learn something new today!

The server YOU are on, and every other server will do fine without you!

You’re too full of yourself… One of those people that think you are more important than you actually are… Speaking on the behalf of “PvE’ers”… who elected you? :joy:

I hope you packed your bags already, cause you wont find any sympathy here! :joy: :v:

Get TF out of this thread, this is a discussion for PVEers not your toxic pvping gripes. Dedicated patches: A Winter event? Are you daft? A seasonal patch does not make a game suitable for PVE players. Its obvious you have no experience of what true PVE content is.

Design end game around PVE gearing? Make it make sense. Most MMOs PVE include multiple ways to gear up for hardcore (raiding) or casuals (questing, Mythic+ in WOW, crafting) WTF has NW given PVEers that PVPers CAN’T GET???

Flooding the market with legendary items: Oh you mean making rewards for the grind in crafting is a bad thing? Maybe these things were overpriced and too scarce anyway and needed to be retuned?

Yeah, the PVP community can be toxic in most MMOs (not all), your rep precedes you and judging by your posts here you are a shining example of this toxicity. What are you contributing to this conversation that was supposed to be for PVEers? Oh thats right: NOTHING! But Toxicity! All of your weak points are moot. Your name calling and rudeness to others with differing opinions is another thing. Again, get TF out of the thread. It wasnt meant for you and you are contributing nothing to it.
