This is to all the people working who don’t have the power to make top level decisions.
I am sorry.
Even if you are in a position where you are out of your depth and made a mistake, this isn’t on you. It is on the management.
The frustration and unhappiness in the playerbase is directed at those making the calls.
I have been at one of those companies, on one of those teams, where management just keeps screwing the customers. I know how disheartening it can be. I am actually sorry you are stuck in this mess that you didn’t create and are not empowered enough to change it.
I am sorry that the top brass keeps hiding behind community managers and individual devs. I am sorry these people don’t have the integrity to step forward and own what is going on. It is on them.
This alone tells me everything I need to know about the future.
Again sorry your job on the New World team is turning out to be just as disappointing for you as the game is for us.
If anyone directs vitriol at you directly, don’t take it personally. They don’t mean it, or don’t know what they are doing.
It will get better, you will move on. No worries.
