well then you dont understand my point it’s fine my dude
It’s okay. I realize people like him are prolly these ex-FPS kids that found out about New World from their favorite strimmer.
No need to fret, prolly find him screaming about GAXE nerfs and sending expletive filled whispers to level 20s in skinning gear.
EDIT: Just realized this dude is a GAXE ape KEKW explains even more.
Lmao. This dude is living in absolute denial. How is any of this acceptable in 2021? Lmao
" i’m used to screen freeze it’s fine, you can always continue to bash in the melee even with the screen freezed. (and yes, screen freeze is still happening during war) and other rollbacks/random lag teleport in the melee, gravity well not going out, and the usual quick swap weapon not functioning, as i said it’s fine, the game is still PLAYABLE with those little lags/bugs. "
I mean…
THIS ONE IS UNPLAYABLE.
He’s just being a hypocrite.
Yeah pretty much. I don’t get why people get triggered when you call out AGS for their poor design choices, poor community management and everything else they have CHOSEN to do that has caused the downward spiral of this game.
it’s a bug report from 2 days ago litterally making the game unplayable.
and i hope you will not encounter it
As opposed to all the other bugs that make this game playable?
Seem to be missing the point “my dude”
It’s not even a bug man. What you describe in your report is how the game reacts to high ping/slow connection. “Hope you will not encounter it” you say. I deal with this everyday lol
The point is that this game has a shit ton of gamebreaking bugs. It’s not a good habit to get “tilted” because people point out the obvious in a humorous way.
He’s missing the point my dude. xD
yes my dude next time i see an unrelated image post… well you’ve been warned. have a great day my dudes
I’ve been warned D:
What are you going to do “my dude”? Are you threatening me D:
I too have to say I like the game. Overall and honestly there isnt one on the market atm that I would want to play more.
But as I said many times I do approach NW as modern take on runescape so that’s little bit different than people rushing to endgame and 600 gs…
Hahaha. Hahahahaha
This kind of post is bound to attract trolls but I just want to say that I agree with you - I love this game.
The music and sound effects are really well done - I actually turn music off as soon as I load games and I’ve turned this one back on and left it on. I love the way there are so many things to find when you’re running from place to place and how you can just get distracted by the enjoyment of playing while you’re running a quest. I really like little things like the bonus materials when crafting and the fact you get XP for everything from picking a herb to exploring a new zone. The detail of the cooking and furniture systems, the way housing items settle really well in the space, the impressive acrobatic moves of the combat systems, there’s so much that is good about this game.
That’s not to say it’s perfect but it really is worth working on. The main challenge is community balance so I think some of it is up to us. I hope AGS will work with us to continue to make this an amazing world to spend time in.
“The main challenge is community balance so I think some of it is up to us.”
An honest question here: How would you describe the effect of the following in relation to “community balance”:
(i) the direction the devs have taken re time-gating existing content and making it even grindier for little to no upside? (what is the benefit of 590 vs 600 GS? 1 attribute point and potentially a decent perk)
(ii) the massive game breaking bugs (duping, TP being shutdown multiple times, SQL errors resulting in the 300-400K deposits to people; falling through the floor after teleporting etc…)?
(iii) Overtuned content - Myrkgard trash mobs, the doors that gate certain areas of Scorpius / GC / Eternal Pool?
(iv) Tuning Orbs for dungeons and other PVE content?
(v) Overall fluidity of gameplay (i.e. weapon swapping, rolling, dodging, and overall game responsiveness to input).
Really curious how you would attribute those issues in particular to “community balance”
Thanks and appreciate anytime you give to respond meaningfully.
Firstly, when I say community balance, I don’t think it’s all on us. A lot of it is whether the game mechanics allow for all parts of the game to prosper.
(i) the direction the devs have taken re time-gating existing content and making it even grindier for little to no upside? (what is the benefit of 590 vs 600 GS? 1 attribute point and potentially a decent perk)
If there’s barely any difference then why engage in that part of the game when there is so much else to do? I appreciate the way the devs are trying to encourage skilled PVE in 5-man groups for high-end content and blame players for zerging these areas in an endless grind.
I see the Expertise system as an improvement on the current system, that gives us more ways to play. I love that I’ll actually be able to see my “watermark”. Expertise is a much better name for it.
Remember, it’s a game, not work. You don’t have to do anything, you get to do it.
That said, I think it would be worth the devs looking into the drivers behind player behaviour and respond to that instead of knee-jerking when they don’t like the way the content is being used. Do people just want to be on an even playing ground for fair PvP? Are players grinding watermark because they want to control a territory and need to be able to compete in PvP to do that? Adding arenas and diversifying power in settlements might do more to address player behaviour than (edit … I was writing this in between playing and talking and I’ve obviously stopped mid-sentence here. I don’t even know what I was going to write)
(ii) the massive game breaking bugs (duping, TP being shutdown multiple times, SQL errors resulting in the 300-400K deposits to people; falling through the floor after teleporting etc…)?
Bugs suck. Duping, system crashes, reverts, weird glitches, etc have always been part of my mmorpg experience. Do I love them? No way. But they do make me realise how much I like playing, because when a bug is preventing access to the game or even just all the game’s features, I get annoyed.
I think game code is pretty difficult. The AGS team is doing their best to fix things. I’d like Amazon to give them more staff so they could do it faster and better.
(iii) Overtuned content - Myrkgard trash mobs, the doors that gate certain areas of Scorpius / GC / Eternal Pool?
I’m not qualified to answer this one properly, so will just share my minimal experience.
The first time we encountered the big door in Myrkgard, it was just my husband and I, tank and healer, and it took a LONG time to get through. I loved this, even though it was long and boring, there was also the drawn-out anticipation of what would be inside and the sense of having made an effort when we finally got through. Breaking up content like this is a good thing.
We haven’t explored all the high-end areas yet but what we like is to go through carefully, control the aggro, kill our way through. What we hate is a zerg running in, or even a chest runner, dragging aggro and getting us killed. If people were more considerate of others, this wouldn’t be an issue.
(iv) Tuning Orbs for dungeons and other PVE content?
The tuning orbs are fine on the low dungeons and I always keep one on me for up to Dynasty, in case someone needs help or the group decides they’d like to go there. I haven’t used my Lazurus or Genesis orbs yet, purely because my watermark isn’t high enough to make the loot worth it. I don’t mind saving content to do later. But I think the cost of making those orbs is too high.
(v) Overall fluidity of gameplay (i.e. weapon swapping, rolling, dodging, and overall game responsiveness to input).
I play a cloth-wearing Life Staff / Void Healer. Weapon swap is better than it used to be and good 90% of the time if I don’t spam it. Rolling is fun and the main reason I won’t give up the cloth. I don’t like the healing interface and would prefer keys for targeting group members but it’s not a game-breaker. I think the “bump” from mobs is a bit heavy but I’m used to it now and don’t get hit too much anyway.
This has nothing to do with community balance though.
Really curious how you would attribute those issues in particular to “community balance”

Hopefully, you were genuine in your questions, as I have been in my response. I certainly don’t have all the answers. But it’s quite disheartening to enjoy a game so much then come in here and see the constant complaints and whining. Don’t get me wrong, some criticism is warranted and needed for the game to improve. But the forums are so unbalanced that I was very happy to choose to post on a positive comment, rather than try to fight all the negative ones.
You can be a fan of the game but not having a realistic perception or acknowledging the games issues isn’t going to help you. The majority of people seem to disagree as you can see the peek players literally drops daily on this game and is probably a trend that’s going to continue as new games come out and new expansions for older games come out. Hopefully they’ll be enough of you and amazon will find it worth paying devs to maintain the game a year from now.
Ironically I hadn’t even realized I haven’t logged into this game in over a week. Most people just go back to playing something else like myself.
Nope no trolls on my end. I’m pretty one liner when I am and tend to include a photo. But I’m glad you at least see a majority of the problems with this game are placed squarely on the devs. That being said, I also wholheartedly agree with you about the community. It’s super toxic, there’s one dude here who is still posting and has literally said some horrible stuff to people. No moderation.
Not sure how to do fancy links to your posts so I’ll try and respond clearly:
- Well for me, there isn’t anything else to do. The Gear Score doesn’t really affect your ability to deal with the overtuned mobs in certain areas. In fact, we never ran zergs precisely because of how mind numbing and boring it was.
IMO a super duper easy fix to this problem is to make each of those elite areas an instanced zone limited to 5-10 people maximum per instance. Wham bam thank you ma’am congratulations, now there are no zergs.
Instead we have them overtuning mobs to stop Zergs but that just encourages more people to join in. Why would I spend 20 minutes killing trash with a 5 man when I can Zerg up with 50, skip fighting and go straight for chests?
- Yea I agree. Game Code is difficult but my patience runs thin when after 3 months, every single patch introduces a new bug, break or exploit. Take for example the skipping into forts to steal territory or falling through the ground with the simple removal of a Turkey (and whatever else they snuck in).
This is further compounded by the “PTR” from November whereby they asked people to test the game, people did, reported it and then AGS decided to push a different version of the game to the live servers thereby introducing more issues.
Then, we have the dude who screwed up the SQL database and credited everyone 300-400K gold which resulted in 13 hours of downtime to roll servers back by an hour. . .
Hard to stay positive about addressing / squashing bugs in light of all that (imo).
- I agree with you 100%. At first it was fun and engaging, and you know what? It was repetitive but so be it because we could do the high end areas with small groups, controlled pulls etc… You know, the usual end-game MMO stuff with a coordinated group. Zerg running sucks and is the bane of this game.
I hope you can stay committed to playing as and when you and your husband start doing that activity more frequently. It really does feel worthless in terms of effort vs power-gained.
- I’m glad you agree as I’m sure most would. This problem ties into something you mentioned in point 1 about doing a diferent activity. My favorite thing about MMORPGs are the dungeons, because you know the RPG element necessarily comes from the Dungeons and Dragons tabletop game. Despise that even someone like you, who is taking their time with the game admits to avoiding a piece of content because your “watermark isn’t high enough to make the loot worth it.”.
Also the keys for Laz / Gen are no joke, even after the reduction. You need a ton of BOP mats and you need the 200 Stonecutting cooldown. Oh, and the Lazarus and Genesis keys are time-gated to the amount you can craft per week, so its not like you could spam them even if you could easily make the keys.
- I played mage and would alt as a healer and agree with you on dodge rolls. I just found my experience with the game registering my actions to be an issue. Couldn’t play as quickly or dynamically as I would have liked.
And I think I’ll say this as I hinted at in the beginning of this response. The game breaking bugs + the super toxic community is a recipe for disaster (i got mass reported twice and god knows how many expletives, racial slurs and homophobic insults were sent my way; only for AGS to generically respond “your ban was justified”.
Good luck to you and I truly hope you can continue to enjoy the game, good luck though because , as someone who owned 4 territories and has done pretty much everything in game. It only gets worse from 60.
Thank you again for taking the time to respond to me genuinely <3 have a wonderful day.
Just replying to myself so ilandriel can see the post I’m talking about. No issue or action other than the post being hidden:

I saw another post about this, not sure if it was about you or if the issue is just widespread (OP posted about their friend’s ban). It is concerning how much Amazon relies on bots for customer service and this is one complaint I am wholeheartedly behind.
I put in a cheeky ticket asking for a superficial minor change on my account that I was fairly sure they wouldn’t grant and received about 6 bot responses asking for additional and irrelevant details (which I provided) before they finally said no. It’s really bad customer service to not provide real people to relate to. I utterly hate bots used in this way. Computer says no.
As for that awful comment, golden rule of the internet, don’t feed the trolls. I mean, honestly, that comment says so much more about them than you.
