To the Super Companies

This love letter goes out to the Supple, Copium and other mega companies who have come to rule NA.

You are some of the best PvPers for sure; you have shown this through all the servers you roll and the amount of trolling you do to the average player base. I’m not going to discount anything you have been able to accomplish on the battlefields of Aeternum. This is more of a plea to you all in this moment for the sake of the survival of this game.

Please for the love of god stop transferring servers looking for “competition”, it doesn’t exist. You are the best, you take the best players as you move server to server and expect competition? Or is it all just about seeking the most money you can get before the game collapses?

So many people have fled this game due to lack of PvP inclusion, and people flee or quit from whatever server is the PvP server for the month. Can we all just chill on moving and destroying an already fragile player base. I know it’s no fun when a territory isn’t making over a Mil a week. I know it’s no fun when all the other companies leave the server. But if your going to constantly try and attack, and own more than 3 territories then it will continue to happen.

This time can you all just go to whatever server your moving to and own WW and one outlier territory and just call it a day? Live with 2 defensive wars? I mean I don’t think you can, as seen by the past.

But honestly who cares if you do, it’s not like we have any chance at saving this game, so I guess hasten it’s demise quicker will just benefit it all.

I played with a group that was top dog on a pvp game. They even had the ear of the devs. The thing is, their goal wasn’t to improve the game or to make the game better. Their motive was to kick the crap out of everyone so they never play again. It was the last time I played when I heard the clan leader state this.

Good try though!

They’re not looking for competition at this point. Maybe at first…but not now.

If they were, they’d all stay on the same server.

They move where the money is. Their server starts to lower in pop, which means less income for territories and less real world buyers for gold.

Until AGS steps up enforcement on real world trading, it’ll never stop.

If it’s not that, they legit do just follow the gold. Not really about trying to find competition.

Oh ya I’ve heard this from a few of the old Maramma PvP company leadership. No thought into server health, very much focused on “being the best” and some really show it with the toxicity they expunge

Scot lane said this issue, territory control, money, all of this is currently on his radar in his interview. I’m eagerly awaiting his determination on the future of this. It’s obvious it needs changing, but in what way i couldn’t say for sure.

We need more inclusion, more people need access to war or war like modes. The money needs to be less able to be funneled like this from power users. There’s too much to really type out on the toxicity and abuseability of the current system.

Not everyone is toxic, and not everyone abuses them obviously. But it is apparent who is, and who does. And that needs to go.

They said this like 6 months ago too. Haven’t heard a word about it since. This should have been top priority. How many players has this driven away. Like wtf?

How can you not be included in Wars? I made a 4 Months break and could join nearly any war in wanted to now. Whats happening on your guys servers?

Not on mine yet but I’m sure coming soon. Super companies create a lot of shell companies. They are highly skilled and highly geared. Not many can compete with them if any at all. They run influence to 10% on multiple companies to make sure they can snipe declares and take over the entire map, raise taxes, and leave all but a few towns to rot. Even if someone pushes them they don’t have a chance to win anyways. They buy out the best pvp players on the server. Eventually most leave the server or just quits and their gold flow drops too much so they move to the next server.

I still dont know why they didnt just put a hold onto that. Just start a CD once you leave the a Company for 3 days and were good.

That you also can just switch Server for 15 bucks its also a dogshit idea. We should just get rid of the most servers and make 2 big ones and bring a serverswitch cd

You dont have to leave the company. You can fight as freelancer.

I say 100 times and i will say again, remove teritory control from game if you wana save it

Just because you say it 100 times does not make it true.

Thats a big reason that i started that game. I love the idea of three way fights about control

You sure? Go check midgard wat left of it after disaster

It’s just that everything is ‘on their radar’ from trifling issues like transmog to deep, game-threatening issues as this one.

I just wish they’d maybe explain this one. Bots I kinda get being hush on, but this one is a sticking point we could really serve to hear on.

I think a thing we can all agree is that territory control IS a good IDEA. But poor implementation.

The current system could use a revamp, and be a lot more like a football season rather than the influence > fight > own > rinse/repeat.

There are lots of good ideas, but i also know that some people want it to stay exactly like it is, money and all. I just personally do not like the current system, And i think if they really brainstorm this could be a FUN and INCLUSIVE event while still being rewarding, and providing faction bonuses.

But i think MOST of the pvp systems are honestly like this, good idea on paper. Probably a lot of unintended consequences.

I played with Disaster on server (the one before Midgard) for 6 months.
It was fine.

Ya I like territory control, I’m open to reworks while still rewarding companies. Cut the money they earn, but the real issue is they need to eliminate shells and to a certain extent the massive MERC potential that allows a company to MERC 45 slots in their roster.

Honestly I just don’t think the people in charge care about this? It’s generating them more money in server transfers then any of their skin releases. It’s been a topic for over 6 months and nothing has been done. Most issues they at least try to fix (albeit fail and introduce a bug in its place).

One thing that is clear, is lately the fixes have started coming from outside the box. I cannot say whether they are all good or not. But hopefully they have abandoned some of the aforementioned balance/changes from the past and decided to continue being adaptive about it. I like many of the changes i’m seeing in the upcoming patch and hope they keep that momentum. It really makes me excited, copium pipe and all.

Yea its fine if toy in disaster xompany but is not fine for rest of the map then mega company puting max taxes in 6 teritorys
