To the Super Companies

Ikr, it’s gonna be hilarious. This actually happened recently on my server.

A small company was trying to be sneaky and run something up. A couple others noticed and done the same. They didn’t get the dec, and got upset over someone “sniping” the declare.

They won it, and changed their name to upset the whiner.

Absolutely freaking hilarious tbh. Especially when only 1 or 2 companies, on the server, can fill a roster without help.

Schadenfreude is a thing, so I’m sure there are people who will care. Whether there’s enough of a player base left to have it make a difference at all is a separate thing.

It’s a loophole that people have found that they are exploiting. A flaw in the game design, and people have been abusing it forever. But there’s no legitimate argument that you can make for why AGS shouldn’t close the loophole, although they may never actually do it. If companies were supposed to be able to control an entire map, there would be a mechanism in the game to do that under one company banner, and shell companies wouldn’t be necessary. But certain people have normalized it so much that they probably don’t even think of it as an exploit anymore, just a game mechanic. And the group that thinks that way has a big crossover with the more toxic elements of those companies. So yeah, some people will find some joy in seeing those people who have been flashing their e-peens over how good they are taking one in the teeth and whining about how unfair AGS is treating them.

Of course, I could be wrong, and this could be intended game design, and a dev could come out and clarify this. We all thought that delayed or persistent weapon abilities should work even after you switch to a different weapon (Insatiable Gravity Well, Fortifying Sacred Ground, etc) and when they stopped working we thought it was a bug. But then they came out and said, no, actually the bug was that they were working in the first place after a weapon swap. So maybe we don’t really know anything.

Yup, and we are gonna keep on waiting, I guess.

But maybe we’ll get a CM come and thank us for our suggestions, and promise to pass along our thoughts.

They like to say they are transparent and want us to trust them but they never answer the question they should be answering. The Hippo thread might get another response though.

It’s stated that it’s fixed on PTR so there is a bug that lets you carry over influence somehow.

I don’t know what the bug is but on PTR it’s, “fixed.” So on live there is some way to bug influence for redeclaring without pushing.

Copiums just a bunch of fucking madmen. Lol. In a good way. I’ve played against a lot of your guys and there’s only been a couple people in copium that weren’t A1 in mechanics.

Fucking monsters, every single one of you. Tell Vio I said hey.

It’s a widespread belief that the shell company pushing is dog shit and shouldn’t be a thing.

The fact that you own WW and EF on the same company with the same siege times defeats the toxicity of shell companies.

That can be done without shells and if shell companies were negated, that result would not change. If you own them both under the same company shell companies had nothing to do with it. Good job.

When y’all gonna fight supple? Lol

These companies truly are Cancer! Meanwhile AGS’s continued silence on this topic is sus asf, but not surprising. :frowning:

How can anyone own two territories in the same company? Honestly curious- I thought this was a part of the game design that we’ve all used to argue shell companies are a loophole. If you’re got more than 100 players in your guild or company or whatever you want to call it, I could see having 2 companies but calling them 1. If that’s the case here, it makes sense. Just curious if there is a mechanic for a single company to actually own 2 territories, or if it’s just splitting hairs about what defines a “company”.

I agree that if a company only owns two territories and they have the same siege times, they aren’t participating in the toxic element of shell companies. If they’re not pushing influence in other territories to get war declares or trying to take over the entire map, there shouldn’t be any issue with it. A company that does that sounds like they wouldn’t be impacted negatively by closing the shell company loophole, either.

I’m on CoS with them. All I’ll say is, who cares! The pvp in this game has become a bad joke. What needs done is to remove all influence it has on the pve community so people can go be as toxic as they want and we can ignore them entirely.

I’ve found nothing angers kids more than adults that ignore them.

  1. Let me do my 595-600 crafts without buffs being needed from cities.
  2. Make the change you made with housing taxes to apply to all taxes.

Leave the rest broken if you can’t do anything beyond this ags.

Edit:
3. Remove table downgrades!

They have the same siege timer because it’s one company. It doesn’t negate it but it makes it significantly harder to defend both.

Both WW and EF would have a siege time of 830 for example.

If they are both pushed on the same day that company will have a defense war for both at 830.

So it doesn’t negate owning two territories but being forced to split your army two ways most the time makes you surrender one or the other or risk losing both lowering war power on both to meet in the middle with your slotting. If there’s enough people supporting you and you can merc out the lower prio territory but if nobody supports you, better hope your 100 man company is stacked and slot 50/50.

This is my idea.

It baffles me that shell companies and outrageous amounts of gold from taxes is still a thing. You’d think that the top issues affecting population would get addressed sooner.

After 2k hours into the game, I’ve pretty much stopped playing more than a couple of times a week. Doesn’t seem worth it to grind for gear when BiS gear is so unobtainable. Yet big companies can churn out BiS without abandon due to massive tax income. Barf. If you like pvp… OPR has become counterstrike and only a few get to participate in wars. Yuck.

My big hope is that shell companies are eliminated, wars become accessible, and tax revenues are drastically decreased.

Well the 965K players that have left the game essentially voted on what they think about the territory control system.

I didn’t know that was a possibility. I thought that if you owned a territory already that you couldn’t declare on a second. Learn something new every day.

So the shell company game is really about getting the declares, then winning the war so that you can alter the siege times so that the same people can always be defending. I honestly thought there was a limit of 1 territory per company.

That just makes it even worse now. Knowing that there IS a mechanism through which one company can legitimately own multiple territories, but they are instead taking a cheap way out.

Exactly why I made a post about the CoC.

I 100% consider it an exploit.

It undermines a lot of the mechanics surrounding the system. Along with 30% influence being the next step for a technically 2x declare by a company. Shell companies bypass that mechanic and gives you a complete declare every 10%.

Still no word from @Developers

I firmly believe New World is on the back burner.

They should implement a cooldown for switching companies.

I think I read somewhere most of Maramma is Green, valhalla ? and COS ?

Can they not just make it 100% company benefits for controlling an area, not faction.

Make the whole thing company based so that there are no benefits to having mega companies.

Add non tradable benefits, tokens or whatever. Change the coin contribution from taxes to non tradable gold, a secondary currency with the same value as the other in order to purchase. You can only trade this with other company members and items bought with this currency can only be traded with other company members once purchased.

Reduce the amount of this coin the company gets.

Guild wars, not faction wars.

Just throwing out ideas.
