I would also find it much nicer if you do not have to pay 200 coins for the reset but 200 Azoth.
Would also fit better into the “lore” for me.
Then the Azoth bottles would be worth more again, besides you get constantly new Azoth in addition (collecting tools e.g.).

Sometimes it’s 200 gold per opponent, when dueling in Windsward. Switching from dualing to arena build. Switching to opr build. Switching to expedition build.

you don’t need to spend 200 gold for every opponent at duel, same as you don’t need gear slot just for smelting gear
you can just make 1 build, learn it, and you don’t need to respec god-knows for what
That’s true if you only play PvP with exactly one weapon combination.
If you want more from the game and take PvE into it or want to play other weapons or adapt to the opponent in a duel, you may have to adjust your attributes.

I agree, azoth is a much better way to do this, same as re-spec. As a Tank/DPS, i am constantly having to switch from Dex/Con to STR, i likely spend 1.5-2k a day on attributes.

Funny thing is that the people who complain about the 200g cost probably change their attributes so often that 200 azoth would end up being more expensive when they end up having to buy vials.
The prices for the Vial of Suspended Azoth would then certainly rise, on my server they currently cost ~4 Coin for 50 Azoth, so that would currently be 16 Coin vs 200 Coin for one time attribute change.
Even a tenfold increase would still be cheaper.

Unnecessary
It should just be free. Having a cost to respec adds no value to the game.
If you respec enought that 200g is a big deal, then the amount of azoth would end up just being a gold cost. You say you respec between each opponent when dueling (a bit extra, imo, but do you). You would end up just running out of azoth vials and having to buy more. So, it ends up being a veiled gold sink regardless.

even then u dont need to respecc so often.
accessoiry is almost allways the same ( except for protection amulet )
armor and weapon on full dex/int/str w/e u play … easy
What might be maybe interesting is that you keep the current system and ADD to it that you can do it for 200 every time or spend idk 8-10k once and got the switch for free forever
